Skills acquired

How did these skills
contribute to the creation of
your product?

How will you develop these
skills during the A2 project?

Digital technology
- What
equipment/software
packages did you use to
produce your
production?

To produce the production we
used a camera along with
tripod, Photoshop was also
used in some of our production.
The skills acquired from using
the equipment gave more
confidence for future use of the
camera etc.

The skills we learned with the
use of equipment such as the
cameras helped to create a
more professional final piece
with a wider variety of camera
techniques as well as editing
etc.

As I use the camera and other
equipment the confidence
levels will raise and it will help
produce better camera work.

Post production
- What software did you
use to create your
production?
- Discuss specific features
of the software.

The software used to create our
production-included final cut,
which was used to edit clips of
footage. At first final cut was
difficult to understand but after
help and continuous use of the
software it became much more
familiar, gaining confidence
using it every time.

Final cut helped us finish the
piece and sue the footage
gained to put it into a narrative
order we had previously
planned.

Using final cut more often in
second year will further develop
these skills. Helping to make
the use of it easier as the year
goes on.
Research and Planning
- What tasks did you
complete when
preparing to film your
sequence?
- How did your planning
help the smooth
progression of your film?
Using conventions of real
media texts
- Which texts did you
analyze?
- Did you take any
inspiration from the
conventions found from
your research?

Creativity
- Were your ideas for your
portfolio imaginative and
unique or did you adhere
to conventions?

In this area the skills acquired
were those of thorough
research, finding out about the
target audience of our desired
final piece helped to attract our
specific audience. Also the
research of genre helped to
identify certain conventions,
which had to be adhered to.
Due to finding other films and
sequences, which were similar
to the genre of our desired final
cut, we could use ideas from
them and see how conventions
are used throughout.

Without research and planning
the creation of our piece would
not have been possible, we
needed to know what kind of
audience to appeal to.

As we also need to plan and
research for this piece so the
skills used in first year will be
needed, these skills will be
developed even further.

We used these skills to help
take ideas from other films and
genres to help make ours more
like those we focused on.
Adhering to genre conventions
to make sure it fits into the
genre.

These skills will be used to look
at other packages and music
videos in order to take ideas
from. As I know what to look for
from first year it should be
easier to analyze products.

We did learn some creative
skills when going through the
process of producing our piece,
but we also stuck to the
conventions to create a more
realistic piece to fit in the genre,
which was similar to others in
the bracket.

The creativity greatly helped to
produce our final product as we
adhered to the genre
conventions.

We already have developed our
creativity skills as we planned
initial ideas for our product.
