Personal Response Essay Examples
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Personal Response Essay Examples" poses a unique set of
challenges. Firstly, the subject requires a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in
personal responses. This involves delving into one's own thoughts, emotions, and experiences to
formulate a coherent and insightful narrative.
Expressing personal responses in a structured essay format demands a delicate balance between
introspection and effective communication. The writer must navigate through their thoughts with
clarity, ensuring that the personal aspects of the response are not lost in a sea of convoluted
expressions. Striking this balance can be challenging, as it necessitates a keen awareness of the
audience's perspective and an ability to convey personal sentiments in a universally relatable
manner.
Furthermore, sourcing relevant examples to illustrate personal responses adds another layer of
complexity. These examples need to be carefully chosen to enhance the reader's understanding
while resonating with their own experiences. Selecting the right anecdotes or instances requires a
nuanced approach to ensure that the examples chosen serve the dual purpose of elucidation and
connection.
In addition to these challenges, maintaining a coherent flow throughout the essay is essential.
The personal response must unfold naturally, leading the reader through a journey of self-
discovery and reflection. This requires a meticulous organization of thoughts and a keen eye for
transitions, ensuring that the essay is not only insightful but also engaging.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Personal Response Essay Examples" demands a high level of
introspection, effective communication skills, and a judicious selection of illustrative examples.

Compare And Contrast The Comparison Of Collocations
And...
In this essay, I will compare and contrast how collocations and idioms can be
learned from a book and from a corpus. I decided to carry out this study because,
even though German is my advanced language, I often find it difficult to make my
speech more natural and fluent. In order to sound more natural when I am speaking
German, I need to have some knowledge of typical German sayings, idioms and
collocations. Another reason why I decided to focus on idioms and collocations in
German was that they vary greatly to the ones we use in English and I wanted to gain
some knowledge on these subjects.
Corpus linguistics can be best defined as a linguistic methodology which is founded
on the use of electronic collections of naturally occurring texts. ... Show more content

(Sinclair, 29) What Sinclair is referring to as word combinations are idioms,
expressions and of course, collocations. The phraseological nature of language has
long been perceived as language does not expect us to build everything starting with
lumber, nails, and blueprint, and rather it provides us with an incredibly large
number of prefabs (Bolinger 1976:1)
The major task for second language collocation research is to discover what it means
for learners of German (or any other second language), how they learn it and what
problems they encounter when acquiring a collocation. Collocation not only plays a
crucial role in language production and language comprehension but also functions as
a key indicator of the language learners overall proficiency in the field of second
language accusation. (Men, 2016)
Knowledge of collocations, to most people, is the of the same importance as the
knowledge of grammar. If one is aware of simple language patterns in their second
language not only will their flow of speech be much better, but they will be also more
confident when listening to and speaking, their chosen
Essay Marijuana for Medical Use
Marijuana for Medical Use
For many years the United States government has prohibited some drugs, such as
marijuana, from being sold in the marketplace. Yet, even with prohibition, marijuana
use has only decreased minimally. Because of its illegality, only the bad aspects of
marijuana use have been made known. However, there are many positive aspects of
marijuana legalization, including its application concerning medical cures.
As of today, in most of the states, marijuana is classified as an illegal drug.
However, due to its proven medicinal purposes, the drug should be made available
for sick people to use. Marijuana has been used for multiple purposes prior to the
birth of Christ. Marijuana originated in the Middle East. ... Show more content on

Marijuana smoke is a complex mixture that has many chemical components and
biological effects similar to tobacco smoke. However, it also contains some different
ingredients. This suggests the strong possibility that marijuana, like tobacco, could
lead to lung cancer, or create respiratory distress. ?Smoking marijuana also causes
changes in the heart and circulation that are characteristic of stress? states Morgan
(5). Current evidence has shown marijuana also causes some chemical changes in
the brain. After exposure to this drug, there have been reports of effects on brain
electrical activity in human beings and in animals. Marijuana also has been found to
produce an acute brain syndrome. ?This is a more severe mental problem consisting
of confusion and loss of contact with reality? stated Berger (8). The main reason that
the United States Drug Enforcement Agency doesn t want marijuana use to be
legalized is because there is no evidence to date that proves that marijuana is an
effective drug when used for medicinal purposes. Scientists have researched this drug
for twenty years and have yet to produce reliable scientific proof that marijuana has
medical value. New findings show that marijuana is acutely harmful to AIDS and
cancer patients because the active ingredient in marijuana acutely reduces the white
blood cells that fight off infection. The United States Drug Enforcement Agency
agrees with police departments that if marijuana use is legalized, crime could
How Is Henry David Thoreau A Transcendentalism
Henry David Thoreau
Being unique has always been valued in modern American Culture. Especially in the
age of smartphones and social media, people are encouraged to take the untrodden
path. In the 1800s, being unique was not as popular as it is today. People with
different views than the majority, were seen as not ideal. Henry David Thoreaus
writing and abolitionist views pushed the boundaries that surrounded the ways of
protesting, writing, and thinking during his time. He was a Transcendentalist that
took different approaches on ways he looked at nature and society. His works and
actions inspired passionate and revolutionary reformers such as Martin Luther King

Ken Elton Kesey Essay
Ken Elton Kesey, author and guru of the hippie generation, was born on September

Safe Disposal of Insulation Material
There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power
industry since the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and
environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are
harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot
term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a
substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or
copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating
materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells
us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is
one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators
serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit
breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by
electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause
health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will
be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and

Abstract This paper presents the original findings of an approach to adopting the bit
stream signal to control a system. It contains the initial design process and
simulations of a bit stream based PID controller to control and stabilize the output of
a proposed Capacitive Power Transfer system in the discrete time domain. Processing
The simulated results use MATLAB s Simulink and illustrate the potential
performance of the controller. Compared against simulations of a similar nature in
continuous time, the bit stream implemented system yields near identical results.

Causes And Effects Of Crack Cocaine
Crack Cocaine Crack Cocaine is the crystal form of cocaine, which normally comes
in a powder form. It comes in solid blocks or crystals varying in color from yellow to
pale rose or white. A popular way to do crack cocaine is to heat and smoke it,
others may inject it in rare cases. Crack got its name because it makes a crackling
or popping sound when heated. Some street names for crack are; butter, flavor
flavor, 24 7, apple jacks, electric kool aid, snow coke, nuggets, crunch and munch,
badrock, scrabble, and freebase cocaine. Crack cocaine s chemical makeup is C17
H21 NO4. The biggest place crack cocaine effects is the brain. Once the user
inhales the vapor into his or her lungs the drug is taken into the user s bloodstream.
When it gets into the bloodstream crack acts upon a part of the brain called the
Ventral Tegmental Area. In the bloodstream Crack interferes with dopamine, which
is released by cells when engaging in pleasurable activities. After the dopamine is
released it travels across the synapse, and binds to a neuron. Binding to the neuron
sends a signal to that nerve cell, which sends a signal of good feeling. During the
normal dopamine process, once the dopamine sends the signal, the signal is absorbed
by the neuron and then releases it. Crack interrupts the cycle because it attaches to
the dopamine transporter, which prevents the normal reabsorption process. Since
dopamine is not able to be absorbed, it builds up in the synapse and continues to
create a

Julius Caesar Brutus Speeches
At Julius Caesar s funeral, he had two people speak. One of the persons was
Antony who asked Brutus if he could because Caesar was a good friend. The other
one was Brutus who helped killed Caesar and only cared about the city of Rome.
Brutus and Antony were both good speech writers but they had different styles.
The first person that went was Brutus which they should never speak first if they
are trying to win a crowd over because the person after can use. He tried to justify
why he needed to kill Caesar. Rome needed to be judged by someone. Brutus did
say he had a lot of honor and that he was loyal to Caesar but more loyal to Rome.
His point was to impress the people of Rome. He also said in his speech that they
were slaves to Caesar so that they should be grateful that he killed him because
now they were free. tears, for his love; joy, for his fortune; honor, for his valour;

The speech was in honor of Caesar not like Brutus speech at all. Four times he said
that Brutus said that Caesar was ambitious. But each of those times he showed that

Yet Brutus says he was ambitious; And Brutus is an honorable man (III,ii, 95 96).
But because he showed that Caesar was not ambitious then maybe Brutus was not
honorable. He also discussed how hurt he was that he lost his good friend. Antony
does twist his promise around so it will backfire on Brutus as the killer. Antony did
keep his promise to Brutus and give them all away. In the end, Antony did change
the crowds mind and they realized Brutus had lied to them the whole time before. He
told them how he offered Caesar to be king and handing Caesar the crown. But
Caesar denied it three
The Pros And Cons Of Anti-Semitism
A widely spoken about topic in America is Isms, they can be described as ways to
discriminate practices, cultures, and groups of people; moreover, there are lsists
upon lists of isms in today s society being used to discriminate. Significant
oppressions in today s society are racism and transphobia, and a similar case would
be the discrimination of Jews. Represented as anti Semitism, this can be defined as,
Hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group
( Anti Semitism ).
Although Adolf Hitler s reign of terror had a significant part in defining anti
Semitism, this dates as far back to the ancient Roman times. In 70 AD the dawn of
anti Semitism was exhibited when, Roman authorities destroyed the Jewish temple in
Jerusalem and forced Jews to leave Palestine ( The Holocaust ). Not only were Jews
discriminated against prior in World War II and the Holocaust, today, it is said that,
Israeli Jews all but universally say anti Semitism is at least somewhat common
around the world today, including nearly two thirds who say it is very common. (
Anti Semitism and discrimination ).
Israeli Jews have a strong opinion that, roughly three quarters say anti Semitism is
not only common but on the rise globally, while virtually no Israeli Jews say it is
decreasing (Anti Semitism and discrimination); On the other hand, Americans have
an opposing view of the incline of anti Semitism. Based on a HuffPost/YouGov

Gaius Cassius Longinu Part in the Assissination of Julius...
Cassius, full name Gaius Cassius Longinus, was recalled as a good soldier with a
terrible temper and in politics, irrational and drowned by vanity.
In his time he was a Roman senator, also known by his part taking in the
assassination of Julius Caesar.
In his early years, he studied philosophy under Archelaus, and was fluent in Greek.
His wife, Junia Tertia was the half sister of co conspirator Brutus. Cassius served
under Crassus, He took part in saving Remnants of the Roman army against the
Parthians and even repelled attacks from the Parthians on Syria. Through this, it is
easy to tell that Cassius must have been a successful military leader.
Too bad his choices in military didn t rub off on his morales, he was being tried for
extortion in Syria but the civil war dispute between Julius Caesar and the Optimates
saved him from being imprisoned. Further use of his brilliant military strategy lead
him to becoming Julius Caesars legate. This leading further into his friendship with
Julius. Year forty four and Cassius success continued to climb, he had become
praetor peregrinus, and elected magistrate, he was promised the governorship of
Syria. While Cassius was given praetor peregrinus, Julius appointed Marcus Brutus as
praetor urbanus, a less prestigious position. This greatly angered Brutus leading him
to become one of the most active conspirators in the assassination of Julius Caesar.
Caesar says this of Cassius, He reads much; he is a great observer and he
Difference Between Realistic And Nonrealistic Conflict
There are many was that people experience conflict throughout their day. This can
include conflict in the work place, at home, or even on video games. All these
opportunities to collide with conflict can make it difficult to determine what type
of conflict is occurring, and reach the best possible solution to the problem. There
are certain cues that can be seen when dealing with realistic, and nonrealistic
conflict. These include then end goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the
interests of the parties involved within the conflict. Also, the appropriate response
to a non realistic conflict is to use force or coercion to resolve the issue. First
realistic conflict produces different cues from nonrealistic, and these can be used in
determining the type of conflict that is being dealt with. Realistic conflict are based
on disagreements over the means to an end or over the end themselves (, pp. 04).
This type of conflict can produce positive results for, but is difficult to determine
from nonrealistic. Some cues to help determine if a conflict is realistic include... Show

When examining these issues, it s possible to determine which conflict that is
being dealt with by looking at the cues that are provided. These cues include end
goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the interests of the parties involved

are willing to work towards a common goal, and nonrealistic conflict occurs when
they are trying to win. Nonrealistic conflicts will consist of less flexible parties, and
are best handled with fore or coercion to reach an end goal. This will stop the
conflict from escalation or being all together avoided by the members involved.
Conflicts that are readily identified can be controlled, and the best solutions can be
Analysis Of Robert Frost s Mending Wall
The turn of the twentieth century brought about in the United States the largest
economic and industrial period of change ever experienced in the history of
mankind. This period of time was characterised by big power hungry monopolies, the
downfall of colonialism, devastating outbreaks of cholera and typhoid, and most
importantly the rejection of old world traditions. During this time of change, In 1914
Robert Frostpublished his poem Mending Wall. The poem is literally about the
speaker and his neighbour repairing a wall that divides their property, but
figuratively, this American classic embodies the spirit of a new age in American
history. In the Mending Wall , Robert Frost uses the literary device of symbolism to
express his theme of the destruction of old world tradition.
The use of symbolism in the poem Mending Wall expresses the new age American
way of thinking in contrast to the social tradition of the old world. In the poem, the
speaker and his neighbour meat ritual every year in the spring to make repairs to the
wall that divides them and their property. It could be argued that the holes in the
wall are a symbol for the deterioration of old world traditions. The speaker says in
regards to the holes in the wall No one has seen them made or heard them made, But
at spring mending time we find them there. Everything will erode with time. Whether
it is as simple as the stones of a wall, or as grand and seemingly untouchable as the
traditions or culture of
Labour Party Divisions
It is very true that the Conservative government dominated politics through 1950s
and 1960s and that the Labour government was badly divided. They had big
internal division post Attlee s government. I do believe the Labour party divisions
had a large impact but I do believe it was because Labour could not find a
competition to overhaul the Conservative party. Firstly, they all agreed with a Post
War consensus. This meant that Labour didn t have a competitive edge over the
Conservative party. The whole point of an opposition party is to argue with the
policies that the government attend to implement. This was extremely difficult in the
1950s and early 1960s because they were both following the same policies and
moreover the Conservatives were
Broad Construction Of The Constitution Essay
History is a major part of a country and its citizen s heritage. However, America s
heritage is a short yet confusing one with different events and opinions argued as its
true beginning as a sovereign nation. Although historians argue that the Spanish
settlement of St. Augustine in Florida marks the start of American History, the
written Constitution and development of a government more accurately reflects the
beginning because this shows the beginning of an organized, connected and strong
nation.

Fuel Cell Essay
One of the important issues to ensure the safety of a ship in the case of a gas leak is
the condition of air flow inside the fuel cell stack package. Poor air flow increases the
risk of fire or explosion by accumulating leaked gas in one place. Against this
backdrop, the installation place for a ventilating fan and its capacity should be
properly decided to make the air flow smooth inside the package, and an alarm unit
and gas detector should be installed at the proper place to detect gas leak. In this
study, we report the characteristics of air flow inside the stack package to ensure the

These days, many shipping firms are adopting liquefied natural gas (LNG) as marine
fuel in an attempt to replace conventionally used HFO as a marine fuel.
Such a trend to use LNG in the ship considers to safely utilize Boil off Gas (BOG),

Fuel cells (FCs), energy storage systems (ESSs), wind power, and sunlight have
received significant attentions as environment friendly energy sources for green
vessels in the future [7]. Among these, FCs have strong potential as an alternatives to
traditional marine propulsion power plants owing to their high efficiency, easy
modularization, multi fuel flexibility, and environmental friendliness [8,9]. In
addition, FCs can essentially offer a silent and vibration free operation, reducing the
needs for noise insulation of machinery. In particular, high temperaturemolten
carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) have various advantages for eco ships, because they
achieve the system efficiency of more than 80% with negligible air pollutant
emissions, when used as the waste heat. Furthermore, it may be highly efficient
economically for gas transport ships to utilize fuel such as LNG and liquefied H2
carriers, since MCFCs can use the BOG emitted from the LNG ship [10,11].
However, developments of MCFC green ships are still in a primitive
Pearson Custom Education, Five Educational Philosophies
In the book Pearson Custom Education, five educational philosophies are discussed
and what each one represents what a teaching and learning is distinctive to each
other and some of them is easily observable in nowadays moment when in contrast,
some of them are rarely to be seen. The first among the five philosophies is
essentialism. It is a teacher centered philosophywhich puts little stock in what
students want in terms of what and how they learn (Powell, 2015, p.71). There are
requirements for students such as: [their] interests not important, [they] must be
discipline; [and their] hard work emphasized (Powell, 2015, p.71). The mainly used

through interactions, [and it is] constructed from what is seen, heard, [and] done

students experiential learnings from real life involvement.
The next student centered philosophy is social reconstructionism which is to educate
students in ways that will help society move beyond all forms of discrimination to the
benefit of everyone worldwide. [Unlike from other philosophies], this philosophy
addresses such topics as racial equality, women s rights, sexism, environmental
pollution, poverty, substance abuse, homophobia, and AIDS (Powell, 2015, p.74). In
this philosophy, it wants students be actively involved and engaged with social issues
and teachers as who helps students feel the responsibility for humanity. How Rafe s
teaching assimilates with social reconstructionism is that Rafe also lets his students
face their own life issues during or outside of class and help them think and get to
solutions by themselves. However, Rafe does not force the responsibility for
humanity or any other types of social issue onto his students. He does make his
students know that they will be the future who could influence the world and what is
around them, but no such obligatory is given throughout his teaching. And last but

The policy of appeasement was used between 1935 and 1939 by the League Of
Nations towards Nazi Germany. It involved making concessions to Germany,
allowing Hitler to do things such as Anschluss and invade the Sudetenland. Many
historians, including Winston Churchill, critisied appeasement at the time. One way
in which Appeasement failed and contributed to the outbreak of WW2 was that it
encouraged Hitler to follow his expansionist policies (Lebensraum). This is shown by
the risks Hitler was taking, hoping no repurcussions would occur. One example of
this the remiliterisation of the Rhineland in March 1936 which, directly contradicting
the terms laid out in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The league was designed to democratically complete its main aims; enocouraging
disarmament and improving working conditions and upholding peace. The League
failed in these aims and allowed powerful nations to gain unlawful global
strongholds. One example of this was the italian invasion of Corfu in 1923, the
League failed to enforce sanctions and allowed mussolini to demand compensation
and an apology from greece. Mussolini could see the League was weak and later
invaded abysinnia in 1935. The league, once again, failed to act and the world lost
confidence in its ability to keep it safe.
The nazi soviet pact was signed between germany and russia, agreeing to complete
non aggression and the divison of poland. This meant Hitler could focus on the
western front and gave him confidence in winning the war. This meant the likelyhood
of war breaking out was massivly increased.
Overall, I believe the faliure of appeasement isnt the main reason for the outbreak of
the second world war because it bought Britain time to prepare for conflict. The
failure of the League Of Nations to prevent expansionist foreign powers was to
blame. It didnt enforce sanctions on Italy, Germany and Japan (as seen in the
manchurian crisis) and allowed them to gain the confidence to begin the
Essay On Website Builders
DIY Website Builders are SEO Friendly or not?
A DIY website builder is a program that is accessible online (it is software) where
you can sign up using just your email address, and the program allows you to start
inserting components such as text, images, slideshows, etc., into a blank canvas so
you can start populating your website. These websites are the likes of Wix, Weebly,
Google Sites, WordPress, blogger, etc.
Many people are complaining about the performance of website builders in search
engines. Some argue that it s impossible to rank well for them. The reality is that they
are not excessively different from other website development tools, what is important
is how you use them.

1. Web Technologies:
When speaking about web design technologies, I mean staying away from Flash
(or at least using less Flash) and using more digestible or engine friendly
programming languages instead. You might be shocked to learn that in ancient
times, many website builders used to be exclusively Flash based services (until
Flash was proven to be SEO unfriendly). Take Wix for instance. It had been using a
platform based on Adobe Flash till March 2012. Since then it has been using HTML5.
2. On Page SEO Features:
While choosing a site builder, pay close attention to what we call SEO blocks or
SEO packs. Usually, these allow users to easily insert meta tags: title, description,
and keywords. Website builders with advanced SEO capabilities, H1 title tag

Burgundians during the Hundred Years War (insert citation). I chose her because
she demonstrated many characteristics and her story is very unique. She lost her
life at a very young age and was only canonized as a saint, hundreds of years after

Over the course of history, the battlefield has changed with technology. The
incorporation of aviation assets to help support ground operations has created many
benefits. Close air support for joint operations provides over watch and security with
great firepower and precision. Another great benefit is the ability for medical
evacuation, support, and resupply. The combination of air assets with ground forces
aids in battlefield momentum and domination over the enemy when performed
without hesitation. An example of air and ground forces complimenting each other
would start in the planning phase with intended joint use participants. Next would be
the employment of an insertion team days before an operation. This team would
collect human intelligence by over watching possible targets in the area, routines
identified, and gathering information from locals. All information would be
forwarded to high headquarters and used for planning future operations. The ground
team is tasked with the important mission of maintaining eyes on the objective as
well as security with local support by fire as needed when the mission dictates.
While the team is in place, ground assets would push out and start to establish traffic
control points. The incorporation of presence patrols just outside the area to restrict
the flow of traffic and potential for possible targets to leave the area of interest.
Utilization of biometrics would also be incorporated to ensure that other unknown
Characteristics Of The Real Monster In Frankenstein
Everyone has different views on what they believe a monster is. When we hear the
word monster we usually think of a big gross imaginary creature. It s natural for us
to think this way because most are taught at a young age that that s what a monster
is. No one really tells us that people can also be monsters. You would call someone a
monsterwhen they do sick and inhuman things. Who was the real monster in
Frankenstein, was it Victor or was it the monster Victor created?
Victor Frankenstein is who I believe should be labeled as the monster. Victor has all
the characteristics of a monster he is inhumane and doesn t remorse or care about
things that a human being should care about. He was a crazy scientist who then
decided create this monster and let him off on his own into the world. He spent two
years infusing life into an inanimate body that is monstrous. When he first infused
life into the monster the awful appearance of him scared him and he instantly runs to
his room to try and go to sleep. When Victor had woke up the monster was standing
over his bed staring at him and that s when he left the monster and showed him
rejection. Victor was very selfish and inconsiderate of others when the monster was
seeking revenge on him it wasn t just hurting him it was effecting others around him.
However, the monster is labeled as a monster because of his appearance. When
something doesn t look like everyone else or something we are familiar with then it
s a monster. The monster was 7 foot tall; he had yellow skin scarcely covered with
muscle and arteries beneath; his hair was a lustrous black; his teeth where nice
and white; his eyes where horrid and watery; his lips where black (M. Shelley 35).
Everyone judges the monster before they actually get to know just because of his
looks and he can t help how he looks. His creator made him look the way that he
does which is why he gets labeled as a monster. The monster doesn t just do bad
thing when he was in the woods watching the cottagers have to go and get wood
every morning, he saw that they didn t like doing so he would go get the wood for
them and leave it on the porch so that they could get other things done. The was also

How Natural Processes Operate at Coastal Geographic Environment
Natural Processes are actions or events that have natural causes, which result in
natural events. The three main coastal environment processes that operate at Muriwai
are Coastal Erosion, Coastal Transportation and Coastal Deposition.
The elements that interact to produce natural processes are wind, waves and tides.
Each phenomenon at Muriwai s coastal geographic environment has been produced
by interaction.
Coastal Erosion is a process at Muriwai that gradually wears away the rock particles
of the earth s surface, transporting them to another location. There are many types of
processes that cause erosion at Muriwai such as wave erosion, wind erosion and wave

The blowhole was formed by vertical, hydraulic and mechanical erosion causing the

Types of wave erosion operating on the headland have produced the cave.
Wave Refraction is an important process as it influences wave erosion on
Otakamiro headland and on the beach at Muriwai (refer to Diagram 1). Wave
Transportation (Longshore Drift) varies spatially due to wave refraction. It is the
process by which waves alter their course as they interact in shallow water with the
seabed along the coastline. This process produces wave erosion, which focuses its
energy on Otakamiro Point.
Diagram 1
Constructive, Destructive and Dissipative are the types of waves that operate at
Muriwai that cause erosion.
Dissipative waves are the waves usually found at Muriwai they lose their energy
before they reach the shore as they usually break on the offshore bar. Constructive
waves are long waves with little height that leave material at the top of the beach,
building it up.
Destructive waves are erosive and carry material seawards.
Wind Erosion is the driving mechanism for Coastal Transportation and Coastal
Deposition. Strong winds have a better ability to cause erosion at Muriwai s Coastal
Geographic Environment. Wind erosion is most effective on well drained landforms
such as sand dunes. Loose particles are more easily eroded than wet heavy soil, sand

Themes In Imagining Argentina
Imagining Argentina is a novel written by Lawrence Thornton, which is set in the
era of the late 1970s of Argentina, during the dirty war. The dirty war came into
effect when a military junta had taken power by force, shortly after the former
president was removed. The main cause of the dirty war was to suppress the people
of Argentinawho are on the side of left wing politically. Anyone suspected or even
related to the side of left wing would have a green falcon visit their home or
wherever they are, and will be kidnapped and tortured, becoming known to the people
as the disappeared . Although thousands of Argentinians have disappeared through
the years of the dirty war, their identity has not disappeared, through the power a
name holds. Carlos Rueda, the protagonist, believes names to be much more than just
a name. A name holds a person s uniqueness; their personality; their identity; and their
story. Carlos is gifted with an imagination, which can predict the fate of the
disappeared through the power these names hold. Although identity is a key theme,
the overall message revolves around imagination. Throughout Imagining Argentina
the use of imagination is always present. Thornton provides a powerful message
which is imagination being our strongest tool; our reality. Imagination helps us
through times of desperation and despair. The human mind is stronger than any
physical force. Our power to imagine helps us stay strong, it helps us identify as
humans. Imagination

BT strategy is founded on broadening and deepening its customer relationships.
To deliver sustainable profitable revenue growth, BT needs stronger relationships
with its customers. That means making sure the company stay relevant to them as
markets, lifestyles and technologies change.
The three pillars of BT s strategy help the company to do that: delivering superior
customer service; transforming our costs; and investing for growth. The better our
customer service, the more the company sells and the less time and money is spend
in putting things right. And the better the company manages its costs, the better
value for money BT can offer to its customers and the more it invest in giving
customers what they need today and tomorrow. These are the principles that drive BT
business model [BT Report. 2017].
For 2017/18 BT s strategy is evolving. The three pillars remain broadly the same but
with a wider focus on the overall customer experience rather than just on customer
service. And with the acquisition of EE limited, the company s investment areas are

Parentese Parentese
It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra
fun, and extra love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know
that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents
have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in
this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as Parentese.
Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where
parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even
throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with
their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues.
Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition
from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving
a parent s bond with their child.
Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially
mothers. Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches
psychology at the University of Wisconsin.
Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they
speak when they are addressing babies.
They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their
pitch up and down more often than when they are speaking to other adults.
Babies are a curious bunch, and will do whatever with the
What Does Birches Mean
In the poem Birches by Robert Frost and the famous scientific research paper The
Patterns in Thumb and Finger Marks by Francis Galton are two significant examples
that illustrate that the purpose and the form of a text allows meaning to be drawn
from it.
First, in poems, various figurative devices are used to emphasis the meaning and
enhance the understanding of a word or a sentence. Similar has been depicted in
Robert Frost s Birches . Frost too uses many of such devices in his poem out of
which alliteration is one of them. Alliteration is the repetition of a particular letter or
sound in a line of the poem. When the reader reads such lines, the reader is forced to
slow down his reading pace, and it requires more attention to be paid ... Show more

When writing any kind of research or scientific paper, it is very essential that the
correct format and method is used in writing the report. The first thing that would
strike one s eyes and gain complete attention would be the headings and the sub
headings that are placed throughout the research paper. The headings provide the
most basic overview of the main topic that would be discussed further in upcoming
paragraphs. Looking at just the headings and the titles, one can figure if the article
or the paper would be of any significance to the reader. In order to place emphasis
on the titles, authors would usually bold, italicize, place them in the center or even
change the font type. This concept is also relevant in Galton s paper. Some
examples form Galton s paper would be: Obtaining Impressions and Reversal of
Patterns (Galton 1890). These headings are italicized and are central aligned to set
them apart, and put emphasis on their importance. This way the reader is giving a
warning that the text below would be concentrating on the mentioned specific areas.
Suppose if these headings or titles, had not been altered in any such way, they
would be read just as simple text or sentences and would not hold any particular
special attention or meaning to it. This would make the task of the reader to figure
out its significance harder, and hence, the paper would be boring

After being shown a picture of an elephant they eye will take the light that is

will be focused by the cornea and the lens to form a sharp image of the elephant in
the retina. The retina is the network of neurons that cover the back of the eye and
contains the visual receptors for a person vision. The visual receptors are made up

Visual pigments reacht to light and cause a triggered electrical signals to occur.
These electrical signals will then flow through a network of neurons and this
network of neurons is what makes up a persons retina. After the flow through the
network of neurons occurs the electrical signals will emerge from the back of the eye

A patent is a twenty year exclusive monopoly on the right to make, use and sell a
qualifying invention. This legal monopoly is considered a reward for the time and
effort expended in creating the invention. In return, the invention must be described

amount of technological knowledge available to the public. To obtain a U.S. patent,
an inventor must apply to the Patent Office and demonstrate that the invention is new

It s important to understand the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression, so,
if you re experiencing it yourself, you don t distress yourself further with the idea
that you could be seriously ill or that there s something seriously wrong with you.

both of them, doesn t mean you re wrong, but rather, that you may need help
realizing that things can be set right in your mind. There are different ways to cope
with anxiety and depression whether you re talking to someone about your troubles,
receiving medication, or learning how to view things from new perspectives or do

The Premier Artists Of The Italian High Renaissance
To start with, it seems important for me to define the concept artistic genius , which
sheds the light upon the mission any craftsman is going to manage. As far as I
understood, the genius is the natural talent or the outstanding skill, which allows the
individual to perceive the objects and phenomena of the everyday reality in the
unconventional way. At the same time, the word artistic implies the connection to
any form of art: drawing, painting, sculpture and so on. All together, the artistic
genius is viewed by me as the complex of the intrinsic qualities, which finds its
obvious embodiment in the creative work. Therefore, by creating the particular piece
of art, the maker is intended to transmit the specific idea to the general public, which
presupposes both the instruction and entertainment.... Show more content on

In this concern, the core characteristic of this period is the portrayal of the nudity and
the natural world (The Premier Artists of the Italian High Renaissance). This provides
an explanation to the renewed interest to the ancient culture, especially Greek and
Roman, as well as the change of the artistic canons. Here, it should be stressed that
the High Renaissance has initiated the cult of humanism, according to which, the
man has been treated as the visual proof of God s power. Moreover, the work of art
has been considered as the result of the marvellous and hard labor rather than the
craft itself (The Premier Artists of the Italian High Renaissance). All in all, these
changes are said by the scholars to be one of the most crucial moments in the history
of art due to the number of masterpieces

I Executive Summary
This report analyses the expansion of Michel s Patisserie into the Chinese market
through the creation of joint venture franchise agreements. Michel s will be evaluated
based on the motivations for expanding to China, process of internationalisation,
choice of entry mode, and standardisation versus adaptation decisions. This analysis
will be undertaken so that recommendations can be made to determine the most
effective means of securing the future success of Michel s in Shanghai. It will be

Negligible Risks
Through a joint venture franchising structure with fairly rigorous contractual
stipulations Michel s central administration were able to expand the business to
China on a shoestring while still maintaining arms length control of how the Chinese
business was run. The licensee and joint venture partner bore the financial risks,
while risks of damage to the brand that a failed venture would cause were deemed
negligible due to China being so far away from the Australian market.
EXTERNAL MOTIVATIONS
Globalisation
China is becoming more westernised, particularly the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai,
where demand for Western products is increasing rapidly as disposable income rises
in line with China s strong economic growth. Michel s wanted to establish a foothold
in the market at an early stage to demonstrate a long term commitment, which has
been identified as essential to compete successfully in the Shanghai market (per Tim
Harcourt, Austrade Chief Economist).
China s accession to the World Trade Organisation ( WTO )
China s accession to the WTO in 2001 has helped shape its economy to becoming a
more predictable environment for trade and foreign investment. Corporate
governance and frameworks for business operations and interactions have improved,
providing a much more transparent environment. (Deckers, 2004)

Assess the significance of popular pressure in bringing about improved
representation and greater democracy in Britain in the period 1830 1931 The
period of 1830 1931 saw gradual yet largely significant governmental reforms which
led to an extension of the franchise from 500,000 to around 21 million. Prior to
1832, Britain s franchise composed of a selective elite of the landowning class,
however the 1832 reform act, although a disappointment in the extent of what it
achieved, paved the way for further reform as it brought people together in rebellion
(the Bristol Riots). This proved that popular pressure had the potential to be very
successful in orchestrating parliamentary reform. The influence of pressure from
outside parliament was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether a revolution was possible is questionable amongst historians, however as
Eric Evans wrote, What mattered was that enough MPs and Peers believed that it
was, and acted accordingly. 2 It could also be said that unwittingly the government
had evoked an atmosphere of popular pressure in Britain as everyone had seen how
easily they had surrendered to the rebels demands. Despite the bill s limitations,
the rioters had after all successfully achieved the first piece of legislation which
was an incentive for future pressure from outside Parliament, hence quickening the
process of improving representation and democracy in Britain. The Hyde Park riots
of 1866 were another example of working class radicalism in protest for reform.
Similarly to the Bristol Riots, the rebels were destructive by force and although
there was said to be more mischief than malice , a policeman was killed. Both the
Bristol and Hyde Park riots were successful as they were each followed by a reform
the next year. I believe that the main reason for the Hyde Park riots victory was the
unification of the National Reform Union and the Reform League, two distinctively
divided (in class) bodies. This demonstrated that people of different classes and
backgrounds were able to unify in common aims in ways which the political parties
could not. Furthermore, this alliance could be seen as a step towards democratic
reform as it began to

  • 2. Compare And Contrast The Comparison Of Collocations And... In this essay, I will compare and contrast how collocations and idioms can be learned from a book and from a corpus. I decided to carry out this study because, even though German is my advanced language, I often find it difficult to make my speech more natural and fluent. In order to sound more natural when I am speaking German, I need to have some knowledge of typical German sayings, idioms and collocations. Another reason why I decided to focus on idioms and collocations in German was that they vary greatly to the ones we use in English and I wanted to gain some knowledge on these subjects. Corpus linguistics can be best defined as a linguistic methodology which is founded on the use of electronic collections of naturally occurring texts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Sinclair, 29) What Sinclair is referring to as word combinations are idioms, expressions and of course, collocations. The phraseological nature of language has long been perceived as language does not expect us to build everything starting with lumber, nails, and blueprint, and rather it provides us with an incredibly large number of prefabs (Bolinger 1976:1) The major task for second language collocation research is to discover what it means for learners of German (or any other second language), how they learn it and what problems they encounter when acquiring a collocation. Collocation not only plays a crucial role in language production and language comprehension but also functions as a key indicator of the language learners overall proficiency in the field of second language accusation. (Men, 2016) Knowledge of collocations, to most people, is the of the same importance as the knowledge of grammar. If one is aware of simple language patterns in their second language not only will their flow of speech be much better, but they will be also more confident when listening to and speaking, their chosen

Yet, even with prohibition, marijuana use has only decreased minimally. Because of its illegality, only the bad aspects of marijuana use have been made known. However, there are many positive aspects of marijuana legalization, including its application concerning medical cures. As of today, in most of the states, marijuana is classified as an illegal drug. However, due to its proven medicinal purposes, the drug should be made available for sick people to use. Marijuana has been used for multiple purposes prior to the birth of Christ. Marijuana originated in the Middle East. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marijuana smoke is a complex mixture that has many chemical components and biological effects similar to tobacco smoke. However, it also contains some different ingredients. This suggests the strong possibility that marijuana, like tobacco, could lead to lung cancer, or create respiratory distress. ?Smoking marijuana also causes changes in the heart and circulation that are characteristic of stress? states Morgan (5). Current evidence has shown marijuana also causes some chemical changes in the brain. After exposure to this drug, there have been reports of effects on brain electrical activity in human beings and in animals. Marijuana also has been found to produce an acute brain syndrome. ?This is a more severe mental problem consisting of confusion and loss of contact with reality? stated Berger (8). The main reason that the United States Drug Enforcement Agency doesn t want marijuana use to be legalized is because there is no evidence to date that proves that marijuana is an effective drug when used for medicinal purposes. Scientists have researched this drug for twenty years and have yet to produce reliable scientific proof that marijuana has medical value. New findings show that marijuana is acutely harmful to AIDS and cancer patients because the active ingredient in marijuana acutely reduces the white blood cells that fight off infection. The United States Drug Enforcement Agency agrees with police departments that if marijuana use is legalized, crime could

And over the years scientist and environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and

  • 9. Causes And Effects Of Crack Cocaine Crack Cocaine Crack Cocaine is the crystal form of cocaine, which normally comes in a powder form. It comes in solid blocks or crystals varying in color from yellow to pale rose or white. A popular way to do crack cocaine is to heat and smoke it, others may inject it in rare cases. Crack got its name because it makes a crackling or popping sound when heated. Some street names for crack are; butter, flavor flavor, 24 7, apple jacks, electric kool aid, snow coke, nuggets, crunch and munch, badrock, scrabble, and freebase cocaine. Crack cocaine s chemical makeup is C17 H21 NO4. The biggest place crack cocaine effects is the brain. Once the user inhales the vapor into his or her lungs the drug is taken into the user s bloodstream. When it gets into the bloodstream crack acts upon a part of the brain called the Ventral Tegmental Area. In the bloodstream Crack interferes with dopamine, which is released by cells when engaging in pleasurable activities. After the dopamine is released it travels across the synapse, and binds to a neuron. Binding to the neuron sends a signal to that nerve cell, which sends a signal of good feeling. During the normal dopamine process, once the dopamine sends the signal, the signal is absorbed by the neuron and then releases it. Crack interrupts the cycle because it attaches to the dopamine transporter, which prevents the normal reabsorption process. Since dopamine is not able to be absorbed, it builds up in the synapse and continues to create a

The Pros And Cons Of Anti-Semitism A widely spoken about topic in America is Isms, they can be described as ways to discriminate practices, cultures, and groups of people; moreover, there are lsists upon lists of isms in today s society being used to discriminate. Significant oppressions in today s society are racism and transphobia, and a similar case would be the discrimination of Jews. Represented as anti Semitism, this can be defined as, Hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group ( Anti Semitism ). Although Adolf Hitler s reign of terror had a significant part in defining anti Semitism, this dates as far back to the ancient Roman times. In 70 AD the dawn of anti Semitism was exhibited when, Roman authorities destroyed the Jewish temple in Jerusalem and forced Jews to leave Palestine ( The Holocaust ). Not only were Jews discriminated against prior in World War II and the Holocaust, today, it is said that, Israeli Jews all but universally say anti Semitism is at least somewhat common around the world today, including nearly two thirds who say it is very common. Cassius, full name Gaius Cassius Longinus, was recalled as a good soldier with a terrible temper and in politics, irrational and drowned by vanity. In his time he was a Roman senator, also known by his part taking in the assassination of Julius Caesar. In his early years, he studied philosophy under Archelaus, and was fluent in Greek. His wife, Junia Tertia was the half sister of co conspirator Brutus. Cassius served under Crassus, He took part in saving Remnants of the Roman army against the Parthians and even repelled attacks from the Parthians on Syria. Through this, it is easy to tell that Cassius must have been a successful military leader. Too bad his choices in military didn t rub off on his morales, he was being tried for extortion in Syria but the civil war dispute between Julius Caesar and the Optimates saved him from being imprisoned. Further use of his brilliant military strategy lead him to becoming Julius Caesars legate. This leading further into his friendship with Julius. Year forty four and Cassius success continued to climb, he had become praetor peregrinus, and elected magistrate, he was promised the governorship of Syria. While Cassius was given praetor peregrinus, Julius appointed Marcus Brutus as praetor urbanus, a less prestigious position. This greatly angered Brutus leading him to become one of the most active conspirators in the assassination of Julius Caesar. Caesar says this of Cassius, He reads much; he is a great observer and he

This can include conflict in the work place, at home, or even on video games. All these opportunities to collide with conflict can make it difficult to determine what type of conflict is occurring, and reach the best possible solution to the problem. There are certain cues that can be seen when dealing with realistic, and nonrealistic conflict. These include then end goals related to the conflict, flexibility, and the interests of the parties involved within the conflict. Also, the appropriate response to a non realistic conflict is to use force or coercion to resolve the issue. First realistic conflict produces different cues from nonrealistic, and these can be used in determining the type of conflict that is being dealt with. Analysis Of Robert Frost s Mending Wall The turn of the twentieth century brought about in the United States the largest economic and industrial period of change ever experienced in the history of mankind. This period of time was characterised by big power hungry monopolies, the downfall of colonialism, devastating outbreaks of cholera and typhoid, and most importantly the rejection of old world traditions. During this time of change, In 1914 Robert Frostpublished his poem Mending Wall. The poem is literally about the speaker and his neighbour repairing a wall that divides their property, but figuratively, this American classic embodies the spirit of a new age in American history. In the Mending Wall , Robert Frost uses the literary device of symbolism to express his theme of the destruction of old world tradition. The use of symbolism in the poem Mending Wall expresses the new age American way of thinking in contrast to the social tradition of the old world. In the poem, the speaker and his neighbour meat ritual every year in the spring to make repairs to the wall that divides them and their property. It could be argued that the holes in the wall are a symbol for the deterioration of old world traditions. The speaker says in regards to the holes in the wall No one has seen them made or heard them made, But at spring mending time we find them there. Everything will erode with time. I do believe the Labour party divisions had a large impact but I do believe it was because Labour could not find a competition to overhaul the Conservative party. Firstly, they all agreed with a Post War consensus. This meant that Labour didn t have a competitive edge over the Conservative party. The whole point of an opposition party is to argue with the policies that the government attend to implement. Poor air flow increases the risk of fire or explosion by accumulating leaked gas in one place. Such a trend to use LNG in the ship considers to safely utilize Boil off Gas (BOG), and as one of the options, application of fuel cell to the ship are being considered [5,6]. Fuel cells (FCs), energy storage systems (ESSs), wind power, and sunlight have received significant attentions as environment friendly energy sources for green vessels in the future [7]. Among these, FCs have strong potential as an alternatives to traditional marine propulsion power plants owing to their high efficiency, easy modularization, multi fuel flexibility, and environmental friendliness [8,9]. In addition, FCs can essentially offer a silent and vibration free operation, reducing the needs for noise insulation of machinery. In particular, high temperaturemolten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) have various advantages for eco ships, because they achieve the system efficiency of more than 80% with negligible air pollutant emissions, when used as the waste heat. Furthermore, it may be highly efficient economically for gas transport ships to utilize fuel such as LNG and liquefied H2 carriers, since MCFCs can use the BOG emitted from the LNG ship [10,11]. The policy of appeasement was used between 1935 and 1939 by the League Of Nations towards Nazi Germany. It involved making concessions to Germany, allowing Hitler to do things such as Anschluss and invade the Sudetenland. Many historians, including Winston Churchill, critisied appeasement at the time. One way in which Appeasement failed and contributed to the outbreak of WW2 was that it encouraged Hitler to follow his expansionist policies (Lebensraum). When we hear the word monster we usually think of a big gross imaginary creature. It s natural for us to think this way because most are taught at a young age that that s what a monster is. No one really tells us that people can also be monsters. You would call someone a monsterwhen they do sick and inhuman things. Who was the real monster in Frankenstein, was it Victor or was it the monster Victor created? Victor Frankenstein is who I believe should be labeled as the monster. Victor has all the characteristics of a monster he is inhumane and doesn t remorse or care about things that a human being should care about. He was a crazy scientist who then decided create this monster and let him off on his own into the world. He spent two years infusing life into an inanimate body that is monstrous. When he first infused life into the monster the awful appearance of him scared him and he instantly runs to his room to try and go to sleep. When Victor had woke up the monster was standing over his bed staring at him and that s when he left the monster and showed him rejection. Victor was very selfish and inconsiderate of others when the monster was seeking revenge on him it wasn t just hurting him it was effecting others around him. However, the monster is labeled as a monster because of his appearance. When something doesn t look like everyone else or something we are familiar with then it s a monster. The dirty war came into effect when a military junta had taken power by force, shortly after the former president was removed. The main cause of the dirty war was to suppress the people of Argentinawho are on the side of left wing politically. Anyone suspected or even related to the side of left wing would have a green falcon visit their home or wherever they are, and will be kidnapped and tortured, becoming known to the people as the disappeared . Although thousands of Argentinians have disappeared through the years of the dirty war, their identity has not disappeared, through the power a name holds. Carlos Rueda, the protagonist, believes names to be much more than just a name. A name holds a person s uniqueness; their personality; their identity; and their story. Carlos is gifted with an imagination, which can predict the fate of the disappeared through the power these names hold. Although identity is a key theme, the overall message revolves around imagination. Throughout Imagining Argentina the use of imagination is always present. Thornton provides a powerful message which is imagination being our strongest tool; our reality. Imagination helps us through times of desperation and despair. The human mind is stronger than any physical force. Our power to imagine helps us stay strong, it helps us identify as humans. Imagination

The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as Parentese. Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues. Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their child. Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the University of Wisconsin. Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they are addressing babies. They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and down more often than when they are speaking to other adults. Babies are a curious bunch, and will do whatever with the

What Does Birches Mean In the poem Birches by Robert Frost and the famous scientific research paper The Patterns in Thumb and Finger Marks by Francis Galton are two significant examples that illustrate that the purpose and the form of a text allows meaning to be drawn from it. First, in poems, various figurative devices are used to emphasis the meaning and enhance the understanding of a word or a sentence. Similar has been depicted in Robert Frost s Birches . Frost too uses many of such devices in his poem out of which alliteration is one of them. Alliteration is the repetition of a particular letter or sound in a line of the poem. When writing any kind of research or scientific paper, it is very essential that the correct format and method is used in writing the report. The first thing that would strike one s eyes and gain complete attention would be the headings and the sub headings that are placed throughout the research paper. The headings provide the most basic overview of the main topic that would be discussed further in upcoming paragraphs. Looking at just the headings and the titles, one can figure if the article or the paper would be of any significance to the reader. In order to place emphasis on the titles, authors would usually bold, italicize, place them in the center or even change the font type. This concept is also relevant in Galton s paper. Some examples form Galton s paper would be: Obtaining Impressions and Reversal of Patterns (Galton 1890). These headings are italicized and are central aligned to set them apart, and put emphasis on their importance. This way the reader is giving a warning that the text below would be concentrating on the mentioned specific areas. Suppose if these headings or titles, had not been altered in any such way, they would be read just as simple text or sentences and would not hold any particular special attention or meaning to it. This would make the task of the reader to figure out its significance harder, and hence, the paper would be boring

As far as I understood, the genius is the natural talent or the outstanding skill, which allows the individual to perceive the objects and phenomena of the everyday reality in the unconventional way. At the same time, the word artistic implies the connection to any form of art: drawing, painting, sculpture and so on. All together, the artistic genius is viewed by me as the complex of the intrinsic qualities, which finds its obvious embodiment in the creative work. Prior to 1832, Britain s franchise composed of a selective elite of the landowning class, however the 1832 reform act, although a disappointment in the extent of what it achieved, paved the way for further reform as it brought people together in rebellion (the Bristol Riots). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whether a revolution was possible is questionable amongst historians, however as Eric Evans wrote, What mattered was that enough MPs and Peers believed that it was, and acted accordingly. 2 It could also be said that unwittingly the government had evoked an atmosphere of popular pressure in Britain as everyone had seen how easily they had surrendered to the rebels demands. Despite the bill s limitations, the rioters had after all successfully achieved the first piece of legislation which was an incentive for future pressure from outside Parliament, hence quickening the process of improving representation and democracy in Britain. The Hyde Park riots of 1866 were another example of working class radicalism in protest for reform. Similarly to the Bristol Riots, the rebels were destructive by force and although there was said to be more mischief than malice , a policeman was killed. Both the Bristol and Hyde Park riots were successful as they were each followed by a reform the next year. I believe that the main reason for the Hyde Park riots victory was the unification of the National Reform Union and the Reform League, two distinctively divided (in class) bodies. This demonstrated that people of different classes and backgrounds were able to unify in common aims in ways which the political parties could not. Furthermore, this alliance could be seen as a step towards democratic reform as it began to
