Comparison Between Group D And Group C
What is seen in the data is that there is not a steady decline in the reaction time when you compare
each column to the previous or next respectively. The time increases when comparing Group A to
Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a
decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all
of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT when
looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical significance in
some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence level. The difference
from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is compared to each other, the
probability (P Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference between the two. From Group B to
Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P Value of 0.4698. This is not a
statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal outcome. Group C and Group D
has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw data, there is no significant difference
with a P Value of 0.0833. Group D to Group E is a 0.1252 decrease with a P Value of 0.3719 making it
not significant. Group E to Group F has a 0.6351 second increase with a P Value of 0.0535 also not
making it significant. The last groups, Group F and Group H has a 0.7647 increase but is also

Does Medea Play The Role Of A Tragic Hero
While tragic heroes traditionally are the victim or pawn in a fate that they do not have much control
over, Medea, in this case, does not fit the script. She seeks her own revenge while using powers that
she already has. It does not seem that very many outside forces effect her, and if they do, Medea
seems to willingly succumb. Despite these peculiarities, she does possess one characteristic that is
similar to a tragic hero. Tragic heroes almost always know what it means to suffer. Medea knows what
it means to suffer, and this, despite her lacking a few tragic hero characteristics, is what ultimately
allow her to play the role of a tragic hero. Aristotle said that for a protagonist to become a tragic hero,
they must evoke in the audience

Fedex Legal Case
FedEx Corporation agreed to pay $228 million settlement in order to resolve the class action lawsuit
that was brought by FedEx Ground drivers in California. Drivers claimed that the company
misclassified them as independent contractors instead of employees. They allege that doing so resulted
in shorting FedEx driver wages and benefits. According to Friday s ruling (6/12/15), allegations were
correct. The $228 million settlement would be paid as a resolution for claims brought against FedEx
by approximately 2,300 California FedEx truck drivers who were classified as independent contractors
and claim they should have been classified as employees of the corporation. The tentative settlement
amount will require the approval of a California federal

Negligence Essay
Negligence is used in tort in order to provide a remedy for those who have suffered any loss or injury,
due to a defendant s actions. If a defendant had a duty of care towards the claimant, then a remedy can
be enforced to cover for any losses. Factual causation in negligence establishes whether it was the
defendant in fact who caused the harm, in order to determine the factual causation, the but for test is
used. The but for test includes asking the question of but for the defendant s carelessness, would the
claimant have escaped harm? The factual causation would be determined if the answer is yes , as harm
would have not occurred if the defendant did not breach the duty of care. If the answer is no then the
defendant would not be held liable. The but for test states that X is the cause of Y if Y would not have
occurred in the absence of X . An advantage of the but for test is that it allows the defendant to take
full liability, if their actions were the cause of harm to the claimant. Once an answer is obtained

This is known as the loss of chance. Hotson v East Berkshire Health Authority [1987 case illustrates
the use of the but for test clearly as well as the loss of chance. While climbing a tree, a boy fell and
injured his hip. The doctors who treated him were negligent, due to the fact that they did not recognise
the condition of vascular necrosis during the first visit and sent him home without diagnosis.
However, the boy was correctly diagnosed a few days later but paralysis still occurred. The but for test
was used here as it was stated that if the doctors had diagnosed the boy properly the first time, then
there would have been a chance of 25% that the condition would not have occurred. This case
illustrates clearly that the claimant needs to pass the but for test and successfully prove factual

Comparing Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas in Pride...
The intent of this essay is to compare and contrast the characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte
Lucas. The main points that will be compared and contrasted include the relative beauty, age and the
characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas. The similarities and differences in their families,
position in society and their wealth, their differing attitudes to marriage, and finally, who has the better
deal and why, will also be discussed. By the end of this essay, the reader will be able to discern the
differences and similarities in both Elizabeth and Charlotte.

first mentioning of her beauty is by Mr. Bingley , but she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The families of Elizabeth and Charlotte play a very important part in their lives, and in the prospect of
their future companions. Elizabeth s family are more prone to exposing themselves and being
ridiculous , and it is partly down to her family that Mr. Darcy is so adamant on Mr. Bingley not
marrying her sister Jane. However, unlike her family, Elizabeth is socially graceful, sensitive and
conscious of her appearance in the eyes of others. This leads to her acute awareness of the social
failing of some members of her family, particularly her mother and youngest sister.
Elizabeth s father is more sensible than her mother and is described as so odd a mixture of quick arts,
sarcastic humour, reserve and caprice . Her mother however is not so difficult to work out, she is a
woman of mean understanding, little information and uncertain temper , and the business of her life is
to get her daughters married3. Charlotte s mother, Lady Lucas, is not much different from Mrs.
Bennet. She described as being a very good kind of woman4 , and like Mrs. Bennet she was also set
on getting her daughters married . Charlotte s father is Sir William Lucas, and he is a very pleasant
man known for his civil manners .
Another aspect of Elizabeth and Charlotte is their position in society, which is rather different and this
is partly down to their wealth. Elizabeth s wealth is greater than that of the Lucas family. Mrs. Bennet

Anthem Security Breach Case Study
In January 27, 2015, it was revealed that a security breach had occurred at Anthem, Inc (Ragan, 2015).
The breach has been in position since December with hackers gaining access to massive amounts of
user and customer data. What kinds of mistakes did Anthem make? How bad were they? Could they
have had better protections in place? Would deeper cryptography have helped with the security and
safety of the data that Anthem kept? These are the questions we need to answer.
The discovery of the breach looks like it was made by accident, but, in truth, it was the work of a
savvy database administrator. The administrator noticed that his credentials were being used to run
queries that he didn t run. However, this wasn t the first time that hackers had tried to breach the
Anthem security precautions. In fact, they had tried multiple times, but failed each time until they
succeeded. The true power of the hackers was patience, which recalls the simple truth of security. The
simple truth of security, whether that security be physical or cyber, is that there is no system which
cannot be breached if you have enough time.
Aspects of the Breach The primary factor in this breach, as it very often is, was people. In the end, it s
always about people. A company can have the best security protections in place and the hackers need

Of course, the subject of encryption has been addressed. On the other side, looking backwards, there
are a couple of extra suggestions. The most powerful step that Anthem should have taken was multi
factor authentication. This would have prevented people outside of the immediate company being able
to access the data. A more powerful employee education about subjects such as phishing would have
given the employees more power to recognize attempted violations. Multi factor authentication and
employee education would have made the penetration much less

Character Analysis Of The Talented Mr Ripley
In The Talented Mr. Ripley, Tom Ripley is the main character, and his adventures around the world.
Breaking down the story, Ripley is imitating somebody to change his own personality. Ripley is
attempting to change his personality not to one particular individual, but rather to a large number of
individuals who are more successful and rich, for example, Dickie Greenleaf. Ripley feels the need to
mimick people because he feels the need to escape his actual life and identify as someone normal and
wealthy so that he could take advantage of their lives. David Grann stresses that when Bourdin(a
famous fraud) would talk in Spanish, his whole personality changed to that of a Spaniard. This was
additionally the same with communicating in English, his character changed again to an Englishman.
Besides, Bourdin had an ability that enabled him to emulate other individuals, or as one individual
expressed about him as a stunning actor(Grann, 2010). Grann uncovered how these extortionists are so
effective in their cons. The same is available in Ripley. This is seen when he can emulate Greenleaf s
penmanship and a large portion of his identity. Ripley uses this skill to create a new life for him where
he can actual see himself in Greenleaf s life, meaning, he begins to feel more free as Greenleaf than
himself, change his personality to that of less demanding one. As the story continues, Ripley begins to
see how much easier it is to impersonate someone other than himself. This, in term,

Animal And Non Infectious Diseases
Until the last half of the 20th century, the emphasis of veterinary medicine had been on the treatment
of individual animals with clearly identifiable diseases or defects. Apart from immunization against
rabies and prophylactic treatment of internal parasites, restricted attention had been given to animal
health and comprehensive preventive medicine, which give proper consideration to both infectious
and non infectious diseases.
Currently, the nature of traditional clinical practice is changing in all developing and developed
countries. The pet owners are better educated, and the value of individual animals relative to
veterinary fees has decreased. It is imperative to develop pet animal health programmes designed to
prevent infectious diseases, rather than just dispensing traditional treatment to clinically sick animals.
Due to the vast demographic changes in India, pet animal populations have increased above 10
millions within 2002 2012. Thus as a part of pet animal welfare, preventive measures for infectious

while in 2003 only 33 million arrived. Further, between 2012 and 2013, there was a 43.7 percent

The Butterfly Life Cycle
According to National Geographic the four generations of these butterflies are constituted by 4
separate butterflies that complete the 4 unique phases in just one year. After this, they restart the same
cycle, commencing with the primary stage of the first generation.
Stage 1
February and March: Locate a mate and search for an ideal place to lay their eggs
Stage 2
March April: They lay their eggs on the leaves of milkweed plants. The larvae eat, grow and
metamorphose into chrysalis.
Stage 3
May June: The third generation butterflies live out a life cycle like the first generation. They then
perish about fifteen days after metamorphosing into spectacular adult butterflies.
Stage 4
This generation repeats the processes the other generations of Monarch butterflies underwent, but with
the one crucial difference of traveling to California through Mexico to enjoy the warmer climate there.
They live for six to eight months until they again get ready to undertake the return.
The Migration
How these butterflies take a particular direction for migration is an unsolved mystery of our
generation. They fly at speeds ranging between 12 to 25 miles an hour. Similar to the migrating birds,
the monarch butterflies use the clear advantage of updrafts of warm air, called thermals and glide as
they migrate, to preserve the energy required for flapping their

Microsoft Azure And Google App Engine Essay
Data location and data segregation are of importance in the cloud, given the disparate physical
location of shared computing resources. It is a possibility that cloud users be under statutory,
regulatory or contractual obligations to ensure that data is held and managed in a certain way. To
understand where the data is stored in the cloud, a person must what type of cloud deployment models
there are in use. There are four different cloud deployment models that are used in the cloud
computing environment. The four models are private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud and
community cloud. A private cloud can be owned or leased and managed by the organization or a third
party and exist at on premises or off premises. A public cloud is an infrastructure is provided to many
customers is managed by a third party and exist beyond the company firewall, examples would be
Microsoft Azure and Google App Engine. A hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more cloud
deployment models, which links data in such a way that the data transfer takes place between them
without affecting each other. An example of a hybrid cloud would be Amazon Web Services (ABS).
The community cloud is a model that is shared by several organizations for a shared cause and may be
managed by them or a third party service provider and rarely offered cloud model. The cloud
environment operating according to this model may exist locally or remotely. An example of a
Community Cloud includes Facebook. Most customers

Impact Of Mongol Conquests
The Mongol conquests and campaigns of the thirteenth century markeddid indeed mark an important
break in Eurasian History as they brought the the Eurasian world together as never before. The
Mongols were a mixture of forest and prairie people that lived by hunting and livestock herding. As
skilled archers and deadly warriors they expanded their empire to stretch across northern and central
Asia conquering territories much larger than their own. This unleashed a chain of events that would
leave an impact on the world for ages to come. Trade integrated cultures from all across Eurasia,
accompanying disease. The Mongols conquests brought unprecedented destruction among Eurasia.
The Mongols did more than just conquer though; they intensified cultural exchange through trade and
actually bringing about a period of peace In Eurasia. As the Mongols built their empire, assimilating
conquered peoples and some of their ways, the world became integrated sea and land, in historically
unrivaled ways. An important break in Eurasian history was undoubtedly the significant destruction
brought forth by the Mongol expansions in the thirteenth century. These conquests initiated by
Chinggis (Ghengis) Khan and continued by his successors reached the Pacific Ocean and the Adriatic
Sea, founding dynasties in China, Persia and on the southern Eurasian steppes. The conquests were
quite brutal, as towns that resisted would be decimated. It has been estimated that up to five percent of

Saudi Arabi A Large Amount Of Energy
Abstract
There has been an increasing growth in the development of new energy resources that can compete
with the energy demands of the growing population of the world. In this manner, a number of steps
have been taken in the major parts of the world. Solar power is been in use since a long time. With the
increasing demands of oil and gas there is a rapid decrease in the supply of these natural resources,
and hence, the authorities are looking for alternative ways to supply the power to the exceeding
population of the world. Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources and
the supply of oil to other parts of the world is one of the major parts of their stable economy. This is
the reason why the authorities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Albert Bandura Social Learning Theory
Observational learning and cognitive variables help explain human behavior and can be utilized in a
wide variety of areas. The Social Learning Theory (SLT) suggests that individuals learn a considerable
amount of their behavior by observation and imitation of others (Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017. It
can be used to produce distinct interventions and treatments for those in need. A review of a variety of
studies in aggression, stalking, business, and simulations investigate distinct ways to make use of the
many components of the SLT. It was concluded that the SLT is diverse, it allows the creation of
different treatments that help individuals in numerous areas.
Introduction
Throughout this course, we have explored a vast amount of theories, however, Albert Bandura s Social
Learning Theory (SLT) has been the one that intrigued me the most. Bandura s SLT strongly
emphasized the importance of observational learning and cognitive variables in explaining human
behavior (Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017). According to our readings Bandura agrees with the
behaviorist learning theories of classical and operant conditioning, he proposes that the SLT is a result
of both person and situation, which does not have the same effect from either component on their own
(Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017). One of his most well known studies involves a bobo doll. In which
Bandura demonstrates that when someone observes violent behavior it increases the chances of
violence of the spectator, and

July 6, 2009 is necessary for background in writing this paper, however; the timeframe assumed for
the purpose of writing this essay is June 2004. To this end, it must also be assumed that the author
does not benefit from the knowledge gained by reading most of the information in Khatchadourian s
article. My goal is to set and maintain an effective, ethical command climate through investigation,
self education, and unit wide professional military education. With the knowledge that General

climate where irresponsible behavior appears to have been allowed to go unchecked, it is time for
change. Colonel Steele s military reputation yields a loyal following of soldiers after returning from

The s Gilliland s Six Step Model
Crisis intervention is designed to provide an immediate response to interrupt and reduce tpotentially
adverse, and on occasion, fatally harmful consequences. Its objective is to restore an individual s level
of functioning to that which was experienced prior to the events that triggered the crisis.
Critical to this process are the skills of the crisis responder in ensuring that the case assessment and
identification of factors that have resulted in the crisis are correctly identified and treated. An incorrect
assessment can be potentially fatal.
The affects of crisis can result in an individual reacting in one of three ways (James 2008):
Some are able to effectively deal with the situation and emerge stronger as a result.
Some survive the crisis but block the pain from their awareness which results in ongoing issues and
consequences that remain unresolved.
Others remain completely immobilised for an ongoing period unless they receive immediate
intervention and support.
In this particular case study the treating modality being adopted is Gilliland s Six Step Model.

interest to the driver, and other input necessary for navigation. The scale of the map display could be
adjusted, depending on the needs of the driver.
3Q. What will be a likely future for PNDs?
ANS: Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Motorola and other handset makers already introduced GPS
phones in 2007.
The inclusion of Google Maps Navigation in Android devices such as Motorola Droid, and Nokia s
announcement of free Ovi Maps, which rapidly integrated into smart phones.
PND vendors are increasingly looking at value added services enabled by new devices with wireless

Feminism One Of The Biggest Topics Today And Is Defined
Feminism one of the biggest topics today and is defined as the public support of the rights of women
on the basis of equality of the sexes. In fact, the main reason feminism is such a popular topic is
because of how men were treated as the dominant gender .
Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only cook and take care
of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly develop until in 1848 after their
oppression, when the first Women s conference was held in Seneca Falls, America. Ever since then,
the amount of feminists and feminist activities around the world have increased a great amount.

Heroin Problem
Heroins cheap and widely available status has spread to many cities throughout the United States;
these users are buying and shooting up right away, often in public. Many police officers find users
unconscious or dead in cars, restaurants, in parks, hospitals, and libraries. Not only does this add to
visibility of the drug to public eye, but leaving behind dirty needles in these public locations lead to a
health hazard. The heroin epidemic needs to be stopped immediately by understanding where the
problem starts, the effects of the drug, and educating the public about treatment, addiction, and the
problems the addiction causes on a personal level. Keeping heroin addiction under control can lead to
less overdoses and a more positive future for the youth of this county.
Most of the time, heroin addicts are addicted to another form of prescription opioid, which makes this
the root of the problem. When these people cannot get ahold of their drug of choice, many turn to ...

The Impact Of Airbnb On Hotel Industry
The development of sharing economy in tourism and hospitality
The sharing economy has started become more prominent between 2011 and 2012 after the
exceptional accomplishment by Airbnb and Uber. (Martin, 2016). Acording to Carr (2012), Airbnb has
become a major element in changing the stagnant hotel industry back in 2011 which has paved the
way for sharing economy. Schor and Fitzmaurice (410:2015), further elaborate terms such as sharing
economy , collaborative consumpation , or peer to peer economy are common terms used to define an
activity of sharing between one person to another to provide items or services that let the user the ease
of using a certain services or goods without having to own or buy the said items or service.

Conversely, Queensland Tourism Industry Council (2014) perceive Airbnb can be a menace to the
traditional tourism and hospitality business mainly towards budget hotels. A research on the impact of
Airbnb to hotel profits in Texas by Zervas et al. (2015) also shown the impacts are greater for budget
hotels, independent hotels and hotels that are not suitable for business travellers. This is due to the
accommodation provided by Airbnb is relatively cheaper than hotels in certain region and is far more
worthwhile by giving the traveller a more significant social encounters with the locals living within

Quentin Marregelman Analysis
Quentin Jacobsen was an un adventurous boy who lived a relatively unadventurous, boring life.
Living across the street was the complete opposite, Margo Roth Spiegelman. She was daring,
beautiful, and loved mystery and adventures. Quentin was used to admiring her amazing life from
afar, until one night a blue eyed girl in all black burst from the window. That girl was Margo Roth
Spiegelman herself. She dragged him out of bed and asked for him to drive her around town to get
revenge and go on an adventure . While out in the many places they went that night, Margo talks
about Paper Towns and how her town of Orlando, Florida was just a Paper Town. The following day,
it is discovered that Margo ran away. But this mysterious girl wasn t going ... Show more content on

When she leaves Orlando, she is running from the perfect image everyone, including Q, has created
for her. She is also getting away from paper towns and paper people in Orlando, even though she
herself could very easily be considered paper. As she gets closer to Agloe, and farther from Orlando,
she believes that she is getting farther and farther from her old paper self. But she doesn t know that as
she is becoming more real she is letting down people who saw her as paper by not being perfect.
Margo doesn t see herself as paper, she thinks of herself as real, just surrounded by all paper people.
But she soon realizes that all her peers and people around her aren t paper, and actually are real people
she doesn t know enough. It s then realized that Margo is the same as everyone else, she is equal to
everyone else around her, and is not the only real person amongst paper people. On some fundamental
level we find it difficult to understand that other people are human beings the same way we are. We
idealize them as gods or dismiss them as animals. (Green, 164) Paper Towns uses a lot of symbolism
to represent the feeling of emptiness and something being unrealistic. The paper towns are fake towns
that have no real meaning. Q realizes that the real version of Margo isn t his miracle in life because
Margo isn t everything that he had built her up to be. John Green uses symbolism throughout the novel
to demonstrate how one sees himself, outlooks on life, and ways of viewing other people in the

Explore the Ways in Which Prospero Is Presented as a...
Prospero is arguably the most interesting and diverse characters within William Shakespeare s ‘The
Tempest . He is a man that was wronged by his usurping brother, however he is somewhat difficult to
like as his story unfolds and the story of others is submerged. His power over and treatment of other
characters shows him as a man that is struggling with his own importance and ability, however his
isolation from the world for so many years clearly plays an important part in the way prospero uses his
power to try and obtain justice for what he lost. His Manner is presented as authoritarian, Shakespeare

Prospero try s to depict himself to everybody in different ways; to some he is threatening and
unreasonable and to Miranda he tries to show himself as a victim of the devious world from which
they have come. Shakespeare is highlighting Prospero s falseness by showing Miranda as
disinterested; she is a expression of innocence in the story, untainted by life s reality and cruelness,
therefore she is not as vulnerable to being drawn in by falsehoods and manipulation, this may be
Prospero s saving grace, his daughter is his reality and she keeps him grounded. Miranda s husband is

Ferdinand taken from the ship and lead to Miranda, then he enslaved him, he wanted to ensure the

Algonquin Beach Meditation Center Research Paper
A monolithic red volcanic boulder at the entrance to the Algonquin Beach Meditation Center and Spa
immediately caught Surina s attention. An engraving on it in italicized black letters read: The universe
is everywhere even within you. No one can own the universe. That quote from Somerled Knightly just
about sums everything up, Norval said. He led the way into the lobby of the meditation center beyond
which the unspoiled golden beach gleamed in the brilliant light of the three suns. In the distance, the
cerulean ocean reflected the endless indigo sky. Curiously, the Gnaritusonians still wore green

Under the shade of the umbrellas, Gnaritusonians lay languidly on the beach recliners enjoying an
unrivaled ocean view, listening to music, or reading a good book. At the same time, parents watched
over their rambunctious children to ensure that they did not stray too far. The gusts of wind carried the
merriment of the children across the sandy shore and far out to sea. Surina and Norval crunched along
the soft, fine sand through a maze of beach umbrellas to the shore s edge where the clear waters of the
ocean lapped around and licked their black clogs. After traveling ten thousand light years across the
Milky Way Galaxy, Surina had to pinch herself to make sure that she was indeed at the shoreline of a
new world. She felt like a grain of sand that the powerful energy of the vast capricious ocean could
swallow in an instant. However, the undulating waves and salty breeze whispered sweet messages of
welcome and swept her into the ocean of endless possibilities. The foamy surf breathed promises onto
the beach as well that any grain of sand could become a

The Machine has created a society that questions all forms of human phenomenon that were prevalent
before the installation of technology, such as physical contact. Any action that cannot be accomplished

ideology of the Machine. She, much like the rest of society, believes that physical contact with another

Pros And Cons Of Ecotourism
Abstract
Eco tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. It is a form of natural resources
based tourism focused on experiencing and learning about nature. The term ecotourism can be well
described with the following five criteria: nature conservation, low impact, sustainability, meaningful
community involvement, and environmental education. Environmental education must be fulfilled to
perform ecotourism and is the step towards the process of understanding the natural ecosystems.
Ecotourism has been growing rapidly over the last decades. Yet, while ecotourism has the potential to
create positive environmental and social impacts, it can unfortunately be as damaging as mass tourism

Forest and marine habitats are being destroyed and some of the wildlife they contain is being driven to
extinction under the pressures of hunting, logging, agriculture, and fishing. Where areas have been

funds to manage and protect them. These areas are being destroyed because they are not fully valued
for their role as nature s genetic reservoirs of the world s biological resources. It is the major threat to

Essay On T. E. Lawrence The Battle Of Aqaba
T.E. Lawrence demonstrated his innovative leadership by subverting the Ottomans through depleting
the Turkish defenses at Aqaba, therefore bolstering the Allied Powers. Lawrence condemned the
continuing practice, used by both his British superiors and the Arabs, of attacking the railroads leading
to Medina. Specifically, with Medina heavily fortified, there was no purpose for continually
blockading and disrupting the Hejaz Railway. Instead, he suggested, [the Arabs] needed to spread the
Turks thin by expanding the warfront as much as possible (Anderson 306). Furthermore, Lawrence
expounded his incredible plan to cross the treacherous and barren Nefud Desert and attack the
Ottoman held Red Sea port of Aqaba. This port, and the surrounding outposts, was a strategic location
that provided essential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawrence recognized Auda s unique situation in that he held inland access to Aqaba. Moreover, as the
leader of the Toweihah tribesmen, the finest fighting force in Western Arabia, Auda provided
Lawrence with sufficient manpower to initiate a proper siege at Aqaba. Consequently, Lawrence
forged an alliance with Auda to plan for the Battle of Aqaba (Wilson 396 397). Lawrence s partnership
with Auda brought about a bloody attack at Aba el Lissan, where after a squadron of Turks killed only
a few Arabs, the Arabs responded by killing 300 men and captured the remaining 300 as prisoners.
Lawrence, who at the time was at Wejh, subsequently interrogated six Syrian Arabs who offered
detailed information on the garrison outpost at Ma an. With only 330 troops, and a majority being
Arba, Ma an, as well as the railroad leading to the outpost, were weakly held (Wilson 400). The attack
at Aba el Lissan was a notable example of Lawrence s ability to form alliances with local tribes
resulting in the depletion of Turkish

The Symbols Of Kwanzaa And African-American Culture
Kwanzaa History
Kwanzaa, a seven day holiday that celebrates African American heritage. Dr. Maulana Karenga
created Kwanzaa to help African Americans remember their roots and to foster unity during a time of
incredible racial strife. It s been observed from December 26 to January 1 every year since 1966.
Karenga, a controversial figure in the black power movement, openly opposed Christian beliefs and
originally declared that Kwanzaa should be an anti Christmas of sorts. The name Kwanzaa is derived
from matunda ya kwanza, a Swahili phrase for first fruits, is based on traditional African harvest
festivals, combining customs from several different cultures. Each of the seven days represents one of
the seven principles of Kwanzaa, or nguzo saba. There are also seven symbols of Kwanzaa, which
celebrants display prominently in their homes throughout the holiday. The colors of Kwanzaa are red,
black and green the colors of the Pan African flag, which symbolizes unity among African people all
over the world. Black represents the people, red their blood and green the earth and the future.
Kwanzaa is, of course, a festive time; it has all the feasting and celebrating you d expect from a
weeklong holiday, but it s also an occasion for reflection, conversation, contemplation and
camaraderie. And although it s a relatively young holiday, it has its fair share of very specific, detailed
traditions. (Cooper, A. (2011, July 25). Kwanzaa:

  • 2. Comparison Between Group D And Group C What is seen in the data is that there is not a steady decline in the reaction time when you compare each column to the previous or next respectively. The time increases when comparing Group A to Group B, but not Group B to Group C. The same also applies to Group C to Group D and then a decrease from Group D to Group E. Figure 1 shows a clearer picture of the RT when compared to all of the reaction time. Even though the time decreases in some areas, there is clear increase or RT when looking from the youngest to olderst. When looking at the graph, there is statistical significance in some of the areas and not in others. All data was calculated at a 95% confidence level. The difference from Group A to Group B is only 0.2538 seconds, but when the data is compared to each other, the probability (P Value) is 0.000287. This is a significant difference between the two. From Group B to Group C, there is a 0.01 second decrease in time, which has a P Value of 0.4698. This is not a statistical difference and leaves room for this time to not be a normal outcome. Group C and Group D has a 0.2289 seconds increase, but when calculated with the raw data, there is no significant difference with a P Value of 0.0833. Group D to Group E is a 0.1252 decrease with a P Value of 0.3719 making it not significant. Group E to Group F has a 0.6351 second increase with a P Value of 0.0535 also not making it significant. The last groups, Group F and Group H has a 0.7647 increase but is also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Does Medea Play The Role Of A Tragic Hero While tragic heroes traditionally are the victim or pawn in a fate that they do not have much control over, Medea, in this case, does not fit the script. She seeks her own revenge while using powers that she already has. It does not seem that very many outside forces effect her, and if they do, Medea seems to willingly succumb. Despite these peculiarities, she does possess one characteristic that is similar to a tragic hero. Tragic heroes almost always know what it means to suffer. Medea knows what it means to suffer, and this, despite her lacking a few tragic hero characteristics, is what ultimately allow her to play the role of a tragic hero. Aristotle said that for a protagonist to become a tragic hero, they must evoke in the audience ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Drivers claimed that the company misclassified them as independent contractors instead of employees. They allege that doing so resulted in shorting FedEx driver wages and benefits. According to Friday s ruling (6/12/15), allegations were correct. The $228 million settlement would be paid as a resolution for claims brought against FedEx by approximately 2,300 California FedEx truck drivers who were classified as independent contractors and claim they should have been classified as employees of the corporation. • 5. Negligence Essay Negligence is used in tort in order to provide a remedy for those who have suffered any loss or injury, due to a defendant s actions. If a defendant had a duty of care towards the claimant, then a remedy can be enforced to cover for any losses. Factual causation in negligence establishes whether it was the defendant in fact who caused the harm, in order to determine the factual causation, the but for test is used. The but for test includes asking the question of but for the defendant s carelessness, would the claimant have escaped harm? The factual causation would be determined if the answer is yes , as harm would have not occurred if the defendant did not breach the duty of care. If the answer is no then the defendant would not be held liable. The but for test states that X is the cause of Y if Y would not have occurred in the absence of X . An advantage of the but for test is that it allows the defendant to take full liability, if their actions were the cause of harm to the claimant. Once an answer is obtained through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is known as the loss of chance. Hotson v East Berkshire Health Authority [1987 case illustrates the use of the but for test clearly as well as the loss of chance. While climbing a tree, a boy fell and injured his hip. The doctors who treated him were negligent, due to the fact that they did not recognise the condition of vascular necrosis during the first visit and sent him home without diagnosis. However, the boy was correctly diagnosed a few days later but paralysis still occurred. The but for test was used here as it was stated that if the doctors had diagnosed the boy properly the first time, then there would have been a chance of 25% that the condition would not have occurred. This case illustrates clearly that the claimant needs to pass the but for test and successfully prove factual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Comparing Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas in Pride... The intent of this essay is to compare and contrast the characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas. The main points that will be compared and contrasted include the relative beauty, age and the characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas. The similarities and differences in their families, position in society and their wealth, their differing attitudes to marriage, and finally, who has the better deal and why, will also be discussed. By the end of this essay, the reader will be able to discern the differences and similarities in both Elizabeth and Charlotte. The physical appearance of Elizabeth Bennet is quite often referred to as pretty by many people. The first mentioning of her beauty is by Mr. Bingley , but she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The families of Elizabeth and Charlotte play a very important part in their lives, and in the prospect of their future companions. Elizabeth s family are more prone to exposing themselves and being ridiculous , and it is partly down to her family that Mr. Darcy is so adamant on Mr. Bingley not marrying her sister Jane. However, unlike her family, Elizabeth is socially graceful, sensitive and conscious of her appearance in the eyes of others. This leads to her acute awareness of the social failing of some members of her family, particularly her mother and youngest sister. Elizabeth s father is more sensible than her mother and is described as so odd a mixture of quick arts, sarcastic humour, reserve and caprice . Her mother however is not so difficult to work out, she is a woman of mean understanding, little information and uncertain temper , and the business of her life is to get her daughters married3. Charlotte s mother, Lady Lucas, is not much different from Mrs. Bennet. She described as being a very good kind of woman4 , and like Mrs. Bennet she was also set on getting her daughters married . Charlotte s father is Sir William Lucas, and he is a very pleasant man known for his civil manners . Another aspect of Elizabeth and Charlotte is their position in society, which is rather different and this is partly down to their wealth. Elizabeth s wealth is greater than that of the Lucas family. Mrs. Bennet often likes to point out that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Anthem Security Breach Case Study In January 27, 2015, it was revealed that a security breach had occurred at Anthem, Inc (Ragan, 2015). The breach has been in position since December with hackers gaining access to massive amounts of user and customer data. What kinds of mistakes did Anthem make? How bad were they? Could they have had better protections in place? Would deeper cryptography have helped with the security and safety of the data that Anthem kept? These are the questions we need to answer. The discovery of the breach looks like it was made by accident, but, in truth, it was the work of a savvy database administrator. The administrator noticed that his credentials were being used to run queries that he didn t run. However, this wasn t the first time that hackers had tried to breach the Anthem security precautions. In fact, they had tried multiple times, but failed each time until they succeeded. The true power of the hackers was patience, which recalls the simple truth of security. The simple truth of security, whether that security be physical or cyber, is that there is no system which cannot be breached if you have enough time. Aspects of the Breach The primary factor in this breach, as it very often is, was people. In the end, it s always about people. A company can have the best security protections in place and the hackers need is, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, the subject of encryption has been addressed. On the other side, looking backwards, there are a couple of extra suggestions. The most powerful step that Anthem should have taken was multi factor authentication. A more powerful employee education about subjects such as phishing would have given the employees more power to recognize attempted violations. Multi factor authentication and employee education would have made the penetration much less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Character Analysis Of The Talented Mr Ripley In The Talented Mr. Ripley, Tom Ripley is the main character, and his adventures around the world. Breaking down the story, Ripley is imitating somebody to change his own personality. Ripley is attempting to change his personality not to one particular individual, but rather to a large number of individuals who are more successful and rich, for example, Dickie Greenleaf. Ripley feels the need to mimick people because he feels the need to escape his actual life and identify as someone normal and wealthy so that he could take advantage of their lives. David Grann stresses that when Bourdin(a famous fraud) would talk in Spanish, his whole personality changed to that of a Spaniard. This was additionally the same with communicating in English, his character changed again to an Englishman. Besides, Bourdin had an ability that enabled him to emulate other individuals, or as one individual expressed about him as a stunning actor(Grann, 2010). Grann uncovered how these extortionists are so effective in their cons. The same is available in Ripley. This is seen when he can emulate Greenleaf s penmanship and a large portion of his identity. Ripley uses this skill to create a new life for him where he can actual see himself in Greenleaf s life, meaning, he begins to feel more free as Greenleaf than himself, change his personality to that of less demanding one. As the story continues, Ripley begins to see how much easier it is to impersonate someone other than himself. This, in term, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Animal And Non Infectious Diseases Until the last half of the 20th century, the emphasis of veterinary medicine had been on the treatment of individual animals with clearly identifiable diseases or defects. Apart from immunization against rabies and prophylactic treatment of internal parasites, restricted attention had been given to animal health and comprehensive preventive medicine, which give proper consideration to both infectious and non infectious diseases. Currently, the nature of traditional clinical practice is changing in all developing and developed countries. The pet owners are better educated, and the value of individual animals relative to veterinary fees has decreased. It is imperative to develop pet animal health programmes designed to prevent infectious diseases, rather than just dispensing traditional treatment to clinically sick animals. Due to the vast demographic changes in India, pet animal populations have increased above 10 millions within 2002 2012. Thus as a part of pet animal welfare, preventive measures for infectious diseases like vaccination against parvoviral enteritis, canine distemper, leptospirosis, infectious canine hepatitis, parainfluenza, kennel cough etc; deworming schedule for parasitic diseases like ancylostomiosis, toxocarosis etc; grooming practices to avoid skin problems and ectoparasites for control of hemoprotozoan diseases like babesiosis, ehrlichiosis etc.; hygenic measures are to be carried out which is now practiced up to an extend in cities but rare in rural ... Stage 1 February and March: Locate a mate and search for an ideal place to lay their eggs Stage 2 March April: They lay their eggs on the leaves of milkweed plants. The larvae eat, grow and metamorphose into chrysalis. Stage 3 May June: The third generation butterflies live out a life cycle like the first generation. They then perish about fifteen days after metamorphosing into spectacular adult butterflies. Stage 4 This generation repeats the processes the other generations of Monarch butterflies underwent, but with the one crucial difference of traveling to California through Mexico to enjoy the warmer climate there. They live for six to eight months until they again get ready to undertake the return. The Migration How these butterflies take a particular direction for migration is an unsolved mystery of our generation. They fly at speeds ranging between 12 to 25 miles an hour. Similar to the migrating birds, the monarch butterflies use the clear advantage of updrafts of warm air, called thermals and glide as they migrate, to preserve the energy required for flapping their

  • 17. Albert Bandura Social Learning Theory Observational learning and cognitive variables help explain human behavior and can be utilized in a wide variety of areas. The Social Learning Theory (SLT) suggests that individuals learn a considerable amount of their behavior by observation and imitation of others (Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017. It can be used to produce distinct interventions and treatments for those in need. A review of a variety of studies in aggression, stalking, business, and simulations investigate distinct ways to make use of the many components of the SLT. It was concluded that the SLT is diverse, it allows the creation of different treatments that help individuals in numerous areas. Introduction Throughout this course, we have explored a vast amount of theories, however, Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory (SLT) has been the one that intrigued me the most. Bandura s SLT strongly emphasized the importance of observational learning and cognitive variables in explaining human behavior (Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017). According to our readings Bandura agrees with the behaviorist learning theories of classical and operant conditioning, he proposes that the SLT is a result of both person and situation, which does not have the same effect from either component on their own (Powell, Honey, Symbaluk 2017). One of his most well known studies involves a bobo doll. In which Bandura demonstrates that when someone observes violent behavior it increases the chances of violence of the spectator, and ... • 18. Taking Command from Colonel Michael Dane Steele From June to 2004 to present, beloved Colonel Michael Dane Steele is in command of 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Rakkasans). I have just been notified that I will take command from Colonel Steele in November 2006 which leaves just short of six months for me to plan for the change. A review of author Raffi Khatchadourian s article, The Kill Company, published in The New Yorker on July 6, 2009 is necessary for background in writing this paper, however; the timeframe assumed for the purpose of writing this essay is June 2004. To this end, it must also be assumed that the author does not benefit from the knowledge gained by reading most of the information in Khatchadourian s article. My goal is to set and maintain an effective, ethical command climate through investigation, self education, and unit wide professional military education. With the knowledge that General Chiarelli felt Colonel Steele s ...acts, omissions, and personal example have created a command climate where irresponsible behavior appears to have been allowed to go unchecked, it is time for change. Colonel Steele s military reputation yields a loyal following of soldiers after returning from combat with less than half the amount of casualties felt by former commands operating in the same area of operations in Iraq, in large part due to his leadership style. The redeeming qualities of his methods are largely tactical and are to be continued under my command conducting the intense physical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. The s Gilliland s Six Step Model Crisis intervention is designed to provide an immediate response to interrupt and reduce tpotentially adverse, and on occasion, fatally harmful consequences. Its objective is to restore an individual s level of functioning to that which was experienced prior to the events that triggered the crisis. Critical to this process are the skills of the crisis responder in ensuring that the case assessment and identification of factors that have resulted in the crisis are correctly identified and treated. An incorrect assessment can be potentially fatal. The affects of crisis can result in an individual reacting in one of three ways (James 2008): Some are able to effectively deal with the situation and emerge stronger as a result. Some survive the crisis but block the pain from their awareness which results in ongoing issues and consequences that remain unresolved. Others remain completely immobilised for an ongoing period unless they receive immediate intervention and support. In this particular case study the treating modality being adopted is Gilliland s Six Step Model. Feminism One Of The Biggest Topics Today And Is Defined Feminism one of the biggest topics today and is defined as the public support of the rights of women on the basis of equality of the sexes. In fact, the main reason feminism is such a popular topic is because of how men were treated as the dominant gender . Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only cook and take care of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly develop until in 1848 after their oppression, when the first Women s conference was held in Seneca Falls, America. Dr. Maulana Karenga created Kwanzaa to help African Americans remember their roots and to foster unity during a time of incredible racial strife. It s been observed from December 26 to January 1 every year since 1966. Karenga, a controversial figure in the black power movement, openly opposed Christian beliefs and originally declared that Kwanzaa should be an anti Christmas of sorts. The name Kwanzaa is derived from matunda ya kwanza, a Swahili phrase for first fruits, is based on traditional African harvest festivals, combining customs from several different cultures. Each of the seven days represents one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, or nguzo saba. There are also seven symbols of Kwanzaa, which celebrants display prominently in their homes throughout the holiday.
