The female pelvis is adapted for childbirth with an increased width and rounded brim. It is formed by the two innominate bones, sacrum, and coccyx. Each innominate bone consists of the ilium, ischium, and pubic bone. The pelvis contains four joints - two sacroiliac joints, the pubic symphysis joint, and the sacrococcygeal joint. The pelvis has three regions - the brim, cavity, and outlet. The brim is rounded and its diameters include the anteroposterior, transverse, and oblique.
