PDHPE teaches primary students about health, safety, and physical activity so they can lead healthy lifestyles. It enables teachers to promote understanding that 24.9% of Australian children aged 5-17 are overweight or obese. Students will learn skills and exercises to improve movement through sports, the importance of exercise for health, and develop a sense of safety personally, at home, at school, on the road, in water, and learn emergency procedures. Overall, PDHPE encourages students to work efficiently in sports, make healthy choices together, and protect one another's safety.
