1. PDHPE RATIONAL
As teachers it is vital to practice healthy eating, and
promote physical activity on a daily basis within the
classroom environment. Children spend most of their
time at school therefore promoting health, safety and
physical activity will encourage their decisions.

2. Fun!
The most important thing to remember about PDHPE is that it is a fun
subject. It is social and very good for you. Most sports are a team sport
which makes it a great way for students to have fun with their fellow
peers.

3. Healthy Eating !
PDHPE encourages a balanced and healthy diet. Such cooking television
shows as master chef and junior master chef also assist in promoting the
benefits of cooking, and showing how fun it is.

4. Safety !
Fundamental life skills are learnt within PDHPE, safe practices such as
road safety, stranger danger, slip slop slap and swim safety are a key
learning area through PDHPE.

5. PDHPE not only teaches healthy eating and exercise but promotes an
overall healthy lifestyle. Students are taught self worth and the
importance of respecting differences and similarities of one another.
PDHPE is overall fun. Everyone has a voice and opinion which in team
sports is a great way of not only building relationships with peers,
refining motor skills but builds on qualities of each individual. Game
sense allows for maximum participation, meaning everyone has a go.
