Introduction to the Visual Infusion Phlebitis (VIP) scoreivteam
ย
The Visual Infusion Phlebitis score is a standardised approach to monitoring peripheral IV catheter sites.
The fact that it encourages site observation means that it also has an impact on other peripheral IV catheter problems such as dislodgement, infiltration and infection.
The innovation of this tool is the recognition of the visual nature of peripheral IV problems and the subsequent benefits of a visual tool to identify these issues early.
As health care workers we have a duty of care to monitor the condition of a patients IV site.
Failure to monitor IV sites is seen as failure in duty of care.
The VIP score is internationally acknowledged as a proven standardised tool for the monitoring of peripheral IV catheter sites.
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a congenital disorder in the heart wherein a neonate's ductus arteriosus fails to close after birth. Early symptoms are uncommon, but in the first year of life include increased work of breathing and poor weight gain. With age, the PDA may lead to congestive heart failure if left uncorrected. The ductus arteriosus is a normal fetal blood vessel that closes soon after birth. In a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) the vessel does not close and remains "patent" (open) resulting in irregular transmission of blood between two of the most important arteries close to the heart, the aorta and the pulmonary artery. PDA is common in neonates with persistent respiratory problems such as hypoxia, and has a high occurrence in premature children. In hypoxic newborns, too little oxygen reaches the lungs to produce sufficient levels of bradykinin and subsequent closing of the DA. Premature children are more likely to be hypoxic and thus have PDA because of their underdeveloped heart and lungs.
A patent ductus arteriosus allows a portion of the oxygenated blood from the left heart to flow back to the lungs by flowing from the aorta (which has higher pressure) to the pulmonary artery. If this shunt is substantial, the neonate becomes short of breath: the additional fluid returning to the lungs increases lung pressure to the point that the neonate has greater difficulty inflating the lungs. This uses more calories than normal and often interferes with feeding in infancy. This condition, as a constellation of findings, is called congestive heart failure.
In some cases, such as in transposition of the great vessels (the pulmonary artery and the aorta), a PDA may need to remain open. In this cardiovascular condition, the PDA is the only way that oxygenated blood can mix with deoxygenated blood. In these cases, prostaglandins are used to keep the patent ductus arteriosus open

Your capstone change project begins this week when you identify a practice issue that you believe needs to change. The practice issue must pertain to a systematic review that you must choose from a List of Approved Systematic Reviews (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. for the capstone project.
ยท Choose a systematic review from the list of approved reviews based on your interests or your practice situation.
ยท Formulate a significant clinical question related to the topic of the systematic review that will be the basis for your capstone change project.
ยท Relate how you developed the question.
ยท Describe the importance of this question to your clinical practice previously, currently, or in the future.

On a daily basis, healthcare providers are faced with an array of clinical decisions to be made in an efficient and timely manner. Translating evidence into best practices is one way to achieve this. Without current best evidence, practice is rapidly outdated, often to the detriment of the patient. Evidence based practice is the conscientious use of current best practice in making decisions about patient care (Sackett, Richardson, Rosenberg, & Hayes, 2000). It is important for health care professionals to ask questions about their current clinical practice. In this weekโs threaded discussion you will ask that burning question that you ask in your daily care of your patients.
Youโll need to focus on asking the right questions, narrowing the questions to one that is nurse driven and the need for change is evident. The question that you formulate will be the question for your Capstone Project.
The process of reviewing scholarly articles for a change in practice is an important part of the development of any type of research project that can lead to a change in practice. As you are appraising the systematic review and other scholarly articles for your change project, think about areas of the article such as sample size, the population, type of study, discussion and limitations. Critiquing a research article will allow you to evaluate the scientific merit of the study and decide how the results may be useful in practice.

Hello Professor and Classmates,
Nurses are called to rely on current research to guide evidence-based practice. The research on a topic can be vast and contradictory. Traditional reviews of the evidence are no longer appropriate. The information sifting called for with the wealth of information available is too great a task. The reviewer needs guidelines to ensure bias is minimized and th.
Abstract
As mobile devices become ubiquitous, healthcare practitioners are exploring how using technological support in the workplace could advance their practice, communication and learning. This paper discusses findings from a research study funded by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK, which investigated how using iPads impacted on physiotherapy and occupational therapy studentsโ learning, reflective practice and communication with peers and tutors during placement cycles. Similar to research carried out amongst physicians in 2009, the students found that the devices collapse โtime and spaceโ, because they permit users to access data and resources when moving between patients, wards and clinics (Prgoment et al., 2009). The paper also discusses how students used the iPads to interact with other professionals and patients while in hospital and community settings, as well as the usability of the devices and associated apps for improving their learning (Clay, 2010). Apps were found to be good tools for documenting individual learning histories, engaging with learning objects and developing personalised structured education (Ifenthaler & Schweinbenz, 2013). The project adopted a participatory action research approach. Eighteen student participants used iPads during their placements in a variety of settings for a period of 5 โ 10 weeks. The students were supported by visiting tutors and practice educators over an eight-month period. Interviews and focus groups were conducted with students, visiting tutors and practice educators to ascertain the utility and acceptance of the devices in practice settings. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model developed by Venkatesh, V. et al. (2003) is used to analyse the acceptability and efficiency of the devices in clinical settings. In particular, the research focuses on why user acceptance is challenged by established practitioners, and why healthcare settings have not adapted their environs and infrastructure so mobile devices can be used more readily by practitioners.

Module 5 (week 9) - Intervention
As you continue to work on your assignment, you will be pulling in some information from your work throughout this course. For one part of this presentation, you will be identifying the current problem (or opportunity for change). This was part of your discussion in the week 2 assignment PowerPoint.
You will also propose an evidence-based intervention to address this particular problem. This intervention should be derived from the literature you have found and presented in your critical appraisal template.
As you have seen, these assignments have provided you the ability to identify a problem, develop a PCIOT question, search for evidence related to this PICOT, critically appraise the evidence for a solution to the problem, and now you will identify the solution and disseminate the results.
You are well on your way to becoming evidence-based practitioners!
Week 9!
Nice work on last weekโs discussion. As you have discovered, decision aids can be very helpful when providing information for patients and families.
This week, you will continue to work on your assignment for this module. This will be an 8-9 slide PowerPoint presentation in which you will recommend an evidence-based practice change. Review the 4 articles you critiqued to determine what practice change is supported by the literature.
Some of the content for this assignment will be taken from your previous work and some will be new. This PowerPoint is a total of 8-9 slides.
Please review the full assignment details located under the learning resources for module 5.

A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder
