My husband was mentally and physically abusive and had a sexual addiction problem. Once just after we became married, he threatened to kill us both in the car. I thought his behaviour would change once he moved away from his family, and for a very short time it did. Before I gave birth to our first child, twice he again threatened to kill us in the car. After the birth of our second child, his sexual addiction was ignited and he began a series of affairs. Depression robbed me of my ready smile. It was like walking on

Further, military deployments affect not only the Service members, but their families as well. This webinar will outline the current research, existing and emerging topics military families face during reintegration. In addition the Office of Family Policy will provide a brief interpretation of how these findings may impact programs and policies.

Expo is the most significant annual health and social care event in the calendar, uniting more NHS and care leaders, commissioners, clinicians, voluntary sector partners, innovators and media than any other health and care event.
Expo 15 returned to Manchester and was hosted once again by NHS England. Around 5000 people a day from health and care, the voluntary sector, local government, and industry joined together at Manchester Central Convention Centre for two packed days of speakers, workshops, exhibitions and professional development.
This year, Expo was more relevant and engaging than ever before, happening within the first 100 days of the new Government, and almost 12 months after the publication of the NHS Five Year Forward View. It was also a great opportunity to check on and learn from the progress of Greater Manchester as the area prepares to take over a £6 billion devolved health and social care budget, pledging to integrate hospital, community, primary and social care and vastly improve health and well-being.

June 29, 2012 Continuing Achieve’s work to gauge the public's awareness of and support for the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and aligned common assessments, a national poll was commissioned in May 2012 to build on the results of Achieve’s August 2011 poll. In those 8-9 months, awareness among teachers on the CCSS and common assessments increased and their support also increased. The voting public continues to give high marks to the idea of having common standards and assessments. When given additional information about the CCSS and the related assessment, their support remains high. It will be crucial to maintain teacher and public enthusiasm for CCSS as they are implemented in thousands of schools across 46 states and the District of Columbia. Thanks to computers, it is easier to collect and obtain data for a grant proposal than ever before. There’s so much data, though, that it can difficult to determine which data to present—especially when grant applications only allow concise answers.
This webinar explains which data grantmakers are looking for, and where to present statistics and other information within the grant proposal. Multiple examples from actual, funded grant proposals will show how data solves grant writers’ most knotty problems by creating need statements, formulating project objectives, devising evaluation measures, and more.

Opportunities & Possibilities: Posttraumatic Growth in Research & Practice milfamln
In this presentation, Richard Tedeschi, Ph.D. will discuss the theoretical model and research basis of posttraumatic growth, the process by which trauma survivors often find valuable changes in how they live life in the aftermath of trauma. He will outline a framework for therapeutic interventions that facilitate posttraumatic growth through a way of relating called expert companionship. This approach to practice incorporates a broad view of what constitutes trauma, including many experiences that are not typically considered traumatic in our current diagnostic system, but which are traumatic to people because they challenge core beliefs about oneself, other people, the future, and the kind of world in which we live. The attention paid to possibilities for transformation of individuals and their relationships does not preclude working on typical symptoms of trauma, but recognizes that symptoms are better understood, tolerated, and reduced when traumatic suffering can have meaning and purpose.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

RAND Research Brief: The Effects of Military Change of
Station Moves on Spousal Earnings
Background
The research team examined the causal impact of military moves on spousal
earnings by creating a longitudinal database that tracks careers and incomes of
more than 900,000 military spouses over the period of 2001-2012
Findings
• PCS moves cause decline in spouse earnings and labor force participation
• Among military working spouses, PCS moves reduces earnings by approximately $3,100
• PCS moves also result in lower labor force participation – spouses who experience a PCS
move are 4-5% less likely to have any earnings in the year of the move
• Spouses with children, under the age of 6, are particularly impacted by PCS moves –
spouses with young children may need more time to help children adapt
15
16. PCS Series: Research and Tools for Supporting Military Transitions
RAND Research Brief: The Effects of Military Change of
Station Moves on Spousal Earnings
