Editor's Notes
- Don’t underestimate stress of traffic, parking, finding the classroom, finding the bathroom, food needs, etc
- If you can’t keep them on topic, what if you had students create question lists and interview them instead of having them prepare a presentation. Give them an outline if needed.
- Tell story of Dozier Libbey Medical High School’s “classroom ambassador” program – kid greets strangers when they enter the room, welcome them, introduce themselves, explain context of class, lesson, etc.
- Additional ideas: Feedback loops – give partners feedback, get feedback from partners on their experience, and get feedback from students Document all partner engagements with video, photos, news articles, etc.
