This document proposes a solution to provide real-time availability of public transportation status by installing GPS devices on vehicles that report location data to a central server. The server would then make this information available to passengers through a mobile-enabled portal, allowing them to see estimated arrival times and delays. The initial scope is for buses in Mumbai, with the goal of expanding across India. Key steps involve piloting GPS trackers on a few buses and building a central server with a route selection portal.
