  communication or interaction with this school. People in
  the office, extremely rude. No contact with staff
  although have tried.”

  not just the leftovers. And the smoke shop across the

  children. The district should make this choice. The fact
  that the boy/girl ratio at Alton is so bad for girls is
  ridiculous. This would make all the schools equal for
  ratio of children. Regardless of their ethnic background.”

  • 34. What needs to be improved? • “Just moved here…..have had no success on communication or interaction with this school. People in the office, extremely rude. No contact with staff although have tried.” • “Homework assignments need to be sent beginning of week and enough notice.” • “The lunch - the kids are always hungry when they get home.” • “Alton needs to have a more diverse student population- not just the leftovers. And the smoke shop across the street is unacceptable.” • “Maybe closer attention to the signs of learning disabilities.” • “More school things such as talent shows……”
  • 35. What needs to be improved? • “Her reading skills need to improve more, but everything else is improving.” • “Security at the other (exterior) doors. I have a small fear that my child may come back out. (Say for example she remembers something and comes back out after I leave.) • “Office helps to be nice.” • “Security. I feel anybody can just walk up and go to any classroom without checking in office.” • “Everything.” • “Communication to parents.”

What needs to be improved? • “Parent/teacher communication on keeping me informed before grades or behavior gets out of hand, not after.” • “We need more activity and fun stuff for the kids- like BES.” • “I feel Alton doesn’t get the attention and appreciation as other schools.” • “I oppose the fact that parents pick the school for their children. The district should make this choice. The fact that the boy/girl ratio at Alton is so bad for girls is ridiculous. This would make all the schools equal for ratio of children. Regardless of their ethnic background.” • “You need to have more fitness programs for the kids.”

What needs to be improved? • “Academic demands on Pre-K students need to be more challenging.” • “Reading skills need to improve a little…..that’s all I’m concerned about.” • “It would be great see more feedback on how he’s doing in other classes, besides ones taught by his main teacher.” • “I would like to receive more feedback on how my child is doing in other classes besides the ones taught by her main teacher.”
