I believe that personal storytelling and listening is the human way to teaching softer subjects in education. As an argumentation lecturer in Singapore Polytechnic and a character and citizenship facilitator at the National Institute of Education, I hold safe spaces for my students to bring up their real selves freely. The technical parts of the curriculum will always be in service to the person and his or her story, furthering their individual causes. Share deeply first, technicalities later.
