The Pantheon in Rome was originally built in 27 BC by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and has since been rebuilt twice after being destroyed. Some key facts are that its dome weighs over 4,500 metric tons and has an oculus opening of 7.8 meters. In 609 AD it was converted into a Catholic church and still holds mass on special occasions.
