To create a document in InDesign, select "document" under "create new" and choose the number of pages and columns. After clicking "OK", the document screen appears with tools on the left side. Text boxes can be made using the "T" tool and typed text can be moved up and down. Effects like drop shadows were added to elements throughout one poster design to maintain a gothic theme while emphasizing important information.

2. The first step to creating a document on InDesign is selecting
‘document’ from the list under ‘create new’.

3. After selecting document, you can now change the number of pages for the layout
and the number of rows and columns if you are writing/creating a publication –
grids.

4. If you have made changes or not, after pressing ‘OK’ the document is presented to
you like this, with space for text and all the tools down the left hand side to begin
your document.

5. You can begin by selecting the ‘T’ tool and creating a text box, then you can type your
header or text, you can also move this box up and down.

6. I have added some text into the box, I have also used a drop shadow effect on ‘Fibbers’

7. I have used the same font and the same shadow drop effect throughout the poster to
carry through the theme of the gothic/interesting. I also made the Facebook and
twitter pages smaller as the important information is bigger.

8. This is a JPEG version of my final design without the grids, using the drop
shadow tool.
