Overlapped fingerprints captured at the crime scene plays significant role as an evidence to capture the criminals. As latent fingerprints are the accidently left skin impressions, so these are found to be with broken ridge composition, overlapped patterns and spoiled minutiae information. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) system is developed by using MATLAB R2015a software. This project also includes the development of standalone program for this system. The main purpose of GUI development is to get the value of real end points and real-branch points of a overlapped fingerprint image. The value of this point is used in fingerprint image matching process to identify the owner of an overlapped fingerprint image. The image enhancement consists of several process such as histogram equalization process, enhancement by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) factor, and image binarization while minutiae extraction consist of ridge thinning process, region of interest (ROI) extraction, and minutiae extraction process. All processes should be done one by one.

This paper addresses a biometric watermarking technology sturdy towards image manipulations, like JPEG compression, image filtering, and additive noise. Application scenarios include information transmission between client and server, maintaining e-database and management of signatures through insecure distribution channels. Steps involved in this work are, a) generation of binary signature code for biometric, b) embedding of the binary signature to the host image using intrinsic local property, that ensures signature protection, c) host image is then made exposed to various attacks and d) signature is extracted and matched based on an empirical threshold to verify the robustness of proposed embedding method. Embedding relies on binary signature manipulating the lower order AC coefficients of Discrete Cosine Transformed sub-blocks of host image. In the prediction phase, DC values of the nearest neighbor DCT blocks is utilized to predict the AC coefficients of centre block. Surrounding DC values of a DCT blocks are adaptively weighed for AC coefficients prediction. Linear programming is used to calculate the weights with respect to the image content. Multiple times embedding of watermark ensures robustness against common signal processing operations (filtering, enhancement, rescaling etc.) and various attacks. The proposed algorithm is tested for 50 different types of host images and public data collection, DB3, FVC2002. FAR and FRR are compared with other methods to show the improvement.

Biometric analysis for identifying verification is becoming a widespread reality. It is a very challenging and tedious task to develop a biometric template protection scheme which is anonymous, revocable and noninvertible while maintaining decent performance. Cancellable biometrics is one of the best methods used to resolve this problem. In this paper, a new method called as BioHashing which follows the technique of cancellable biometrics in the fingerprint domain is proposed. This proposed method does not require the re-alignment of fingerprints as all the minutiae are translated into a pre-defined two dimensional space based on a reference minutia. After that, the proposed Biohashing method is used to enforce the one-way property (non-invertibility) of the biometric template. The proposed approach is very much resistant to minor translation error and rotation distortion. An Equal Error Rates (EER) of less than 1% is achieved in this approach and performance of the approach is also significant.

The need for fool proof authentication procedures away from traditional authentication mechanisms like passwords, security PINS has led to the advent of biometric authentication in information systems. Biometric data extracted from physiological features of a person including but not limited to fingerprints, palm prints, face or retina for purpose of verification & identification is saved as biometric templates. The inception of biometrics in access control systems has not been without its own hitches & like other systems it has its fair share of challenges. Biometric fingerprints being the most mature of all biometric spheres are the most widely adopted biometric authentication systems. Biometric systems effectiveness lies on how secure they are at preventing inadvertent disclosure of biometric templates in an information system‟s archive. This however has not been the case as biometric templates have been fraudulently accessed to gain unauthorized access in identification and verification systems. In order to achieve strong and secure biometric systems, biometric systems developers need to build biometric systems that properly secure biometric templates. Several biometric template protection schemes and approaches have been proposed and used to safeguard stored biometric templates. Despite there being various biometric template protection schemes and approaches in existence, none of them has provided the most authentic, reliable, efficient and deterrent means to totally secure biometric fingerprint templates. This research sought to establish status of the current biometric template protection techniques and methods by conducting a survey and analyzing data gathered from a sample of seventy-eight (78) respondents. We will report these results and give our conclusion based on findings of the survey in this paper.
Attendance Monitoring System of Students Based on Biometric and GPS Tracking ...IJAEMSJORNAL
This paper is a study of a fingerprint recognition system based on minutiae based fingerprint algorithms used in various techniques. This line of track mainly involves extraction of minutiae points from the model fingerprint images and fingerprint matching based on the number of minutiae pairings among to fingerprints. This paper also provides the design method of fingerprint based student attendance with help of GSM. This system ignores the requirement for stationary materials and personnel for keeping of records. The main objective of this project is to develop an embedded system, which is used for security applications. The biometrics technology is rapidly progressing and offers attractive opportunities. In recent years, biometric authentication has grown in popularity as a means of personal identification in college administration systems. The prominent biometric methods that may be used for authentication include fingerprint, palmprint, and handprint, face recognition, speech recognition, dental and eye biometrics. In this paper, a microcontroller based prototype of attendance system using fingerprint sensor and face recognition module is implemented. The tracking module is used here to identify the location of the missing person.
Iris recognition is considered to be the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system available. Iris recognition system captures an image of an individual person’s eye, than the image of iris is meant for the further segmentation and normalization for extracting its feature.Segmentation is used for the localization of the correct iris region in the particular portion of an eye and it should be done accurately and correctly to remove the eyelids, eyelashes, reflection and pupil noises present in iris region. The features of the iris were encoded by convolving the normalize iris region with 1D Log-Gabor filters and phase quantizing the output in order to produce a bit-wise biometric template. The Hamming distance was chosen as a matching metric, which gave the measure of how many bits disagreed between the templates of the iris.
novel method of identifying fingerprint using minutiae matching in biometric ...INFOGAIN PUBLICATION
Fingerprint is one of the best apparatus to identify human because of its uniqueness, details information, hard to change and long-term indicators of human identity where there are several biometric feature that can be recycled to endorse the individuality. Identification of fingerprint is very important in forensic science, trace any part of human, collection of crime part and proof from a crime. This paper presents a new method of identifying fingerprint in biometrics security system. Fingerprint is one of the best example in biometric security because it can identify personal information and it is much secure than any other biometric identification system. The experimental result exhibits the performance of the proposed method.
The terms "Biometrics" and "Biometry" have been used since early in the 20th century to refer to the field of development of statistical and mathematical methods applicable to data analysis problems in the biological sciences. Recently, these terms have also been used to refer to the emerging field of information technology devoted to automated identification of individuals using biological traits, such as those based on retinal or iris scanning, voice patterns, dynamic signatures, fingerprints, face recognition, or hand measurements, especially for authentication purposes. Thus biometrics can be defined as the science and technology of measuring and statistically analyzing biological data. They are measurable physiological and / or behavioral characteristics that can be utilized to verify the identity of an individual. For a layman, it could be said that biometrics are the science of measuring physical and/or behavioral characteristics that are unique to each individual and they verify that an individual is who he or she claims to be.
Highly Secured Bio-Metric Authentication Model with Palm Print IdentificationIJERA Editor
For securing personal identifications and highly secure identification problems, biometric technologies will
provide higher security with improved accuracy. This has become an emerging technology in recent years due to
the transaction frauds, security breaches and personal identification etc. The beauty of biometric technology is it
provides a unique code for each person and it can’t be copied or forged by others. To overcome the draw backs
of finger print identification systems, here in this paper we proposed a palm print based personal identification
system, which is a most promising and emerging research area in biometric identification systems due to its
uniqueness, scalability, faster execution speed and large area for extracting the features. It provides higher
security over finger print biometric systems with its rich features like wrinkles, continuous ridges, principal
lines, minutiae points, and singular points. The main aim of proposed palm print identification system is to
implement a system with higher accuracy and increased speed in identifying the palm prints of several users.
Here, in this we presented a highly secured palm print identification system with extraction of region of interest
(ROI) with morphological operation there by applying un-decimated bi-orthogonal wavelet (UDBW) transform
to extract the low level features of registered palm prints to calculate its feature vectors (FV) then after the
comparison is done by measuring the distance between registered palm feature vector and testing palm print
feature vector. Simulation results show that the proposed biometric identification system provides more
accuracy and reliable recognition rate

PREPROCESSING ALGORITHM FOR DIGITAL FINGERPRINT IMAGE RECOGNITION ijcsity
Biometrics is one of the most used technologies in the field of security due to its reliability and

fingerprint recognition, and since we must carry out an image processing to be able to exploit the data in
each fingerprint we propose in this article an image preprocessing procedure in order to improve its
quality before extracting the necessary information for the comparison phase.
Biometric system works on behavioral and physiological biometric parameters to spot a person. Every fingerprint contains distinctive options and its recognizing system primarily works on native ridge feature local ridge endings, minutiae, core point, delta, etc. However, fingerprint pictures have poor quality thanks to variations in skin and impression conditions. In personal identification, fingerprint recognition is taken into account the foremost outstanding and reliable technique for matching with keep fingerprints within the information. Minutiae extraction is additional essential step in fingerprint matching. This paper provides plan regarding numerous feature extraction and matching algorithms for fingerprint recognition systems and to seek out that technique is additional reliable and secure.

As we know the fingerprint is unique of every living objects. It is quite difficult to find out the prints.
Usually the Forensics use Fine powder and duct tapes to identify the prints of living object. As powder is
exceptionally muddled, so such molecule can cause loss of information after that examination the information is
coordinated with the system. The proposed system consists of an embedded device in which it consists of ultra

database, and it will return the output after matching. For matching and analysis of the Fingerprint, we will be
using the Algorithm for matching.
The increasing use of distributed authentication architecture
has made interoperability of systems an important issue. Interoperabil ity of systems affects the maturity of the technology and also improves confidence of users in the technology. Biometric systems are not immune to the concerns of interoperability. Interoperability of fingerprint sensors and its effect on the overall performance of the recognition system is an area of interest with a considerable amount of work directed
towards it. This research analyzed effects of interoperability on error rates for fingerprint datasets captured from two optical sensors and a capacitive sensor when using a single commercially available fingerprint
matching algorithm. The main aim of this research was to emulate a
centralized storage and matching architecture with multiple acquisition
stations. Fingerprints were collected from 44 individuals on all three sensors and interoperable False Reject Rates of less than .31% were achieved using two different enrolment strategies.

exceptionally muddled, so such molecule can cause loss of information after that examination the information is
coordinated with the system. The proposed system consists of an embedded device in which it consists of ultra
light to glow the fingerprints details. After that we can detect the fingerprint, analysis and it will checks on the
database, and it will return the output after matching. For matching and analysis of the Fingerprint, we will be
using the Algorithm for matching.
Measuring memetic algorithm performance on image fingerprints datasetTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Personal identification has become one of the most important terms in our society regarding access control, crime and forensic identification, banking and also computer system. The fingerprint is the most used biometric feature caused by its unique, universality and stability. The fingerprint is widely used as a security feature for forensic recognition, building access, automatic teller machine (ATM) authentication or payment. Fingerprint recognition could be grouped in two various forms, verification and identification. Verification compares one on one fingerprint data. Identification is matching input fingerprint with data that saved in the database. In this paper, we measure the performance of the memetic algorithm to process the image fingerprints dataset. Before we run this algorithm, we divide our fingerprints into four groups according to its characteristics and make 15 specimens of data, do four partial tests and at the last of work we measure all computation time.
According to a report by Frost and Sullivan in 2007, revenues for non-AFIS fingerprint devices in notebook PC's and wireless devices is anticipated to grow from $148.5 million to $1588.0 million by 2014, a compound annual growth rate of 40.3% [1]. The AFIS market has a compound annual growth rate of 15.2% with revenues of $445.0 million in 2007. With the development of mobile applications in a number of different market segments, such as healthcare, retail, and law enforcement, this paper analyzed the performance of fingerprints of different sizes, from different sensors...

Abstract
A novel software-based fake detection method that can be used in multiple biometric systems to detect different types of fraudulent access attempts. To ensure the actual presence of a real legitimate trait in contrast to a fake self-manufactured synthetic or reconstructed sample is a significant problem in biometric authentication, which requires the development of new and efficient protection measures. To enhance the security of biometric recognition frameworks, by adding liveness assessment in a fast, user-friendly, and non-intrusive manner, through the use of image quality assessment.
The proposed approach presents a very low degree of complexity, which makes it suitable for real-time applications, using 25 general image quality features extracted from one image (i.e., the same acquired for authentication purposes) to distinguish between legitimate and impostor samples. Multi-biometric and Multi-attack protection method which targets to overcome part of these limitations through the use of Image Quality Assessment (IQA).
Moreover, being software-based, it presents the usual advantages of this type of approaches: fast, as it only needs one image (i.e., the same sample acquired for biometric recognition) to detect whether it is real or fake, non-intrusive; user-friendly (transparent to the user), cheap and easy to embed in already functional systems and no hardware is required).
PREPROCESSING ALGORITHM FOR DIGITAL FINGERPRINT IMAGE RECOGNITIONijcsity
Biometrics is one of the most used technologies in the field of security due to its reliability and performance. It is based on several physical human characteristics but the most used technology is the fingerprint recognition, and since we must carry out an image processing to be able to exploit the data in each fingerprint we propose in this article an image preprocessing procedure in order to improve its quality before extracting the necessary information for the comparison phase.
Portable and Efficient Fingerprint Authentication System Based on a Microcont...IJECEIAES
This paper presents the design of a fingerprint authentication system based on a simple microcontroller and the fingerprint sensor. The circuit diagram and details regarding the procedure are included. The system was programed in MPLAB and then embedded into the microcontroller. Communication between the PIC and sensor is by RS232 protocol. The results show that the system recognizes the fingerprint in less than 1 second. It is portable and there is no need for image processing. Furthermore, the system shows a high effectiveness when storing and verifying fingerprints.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF MINUTIAE BASED FINGERPRINT MATCHING ALGORITHMSijcsit
Biometric matching involves finding similarity between fingerprint images. The accuracy and speed of the
matching algorithmdetermines its effectives. This researchaims at comparing two types of matching
algorithms namely(a) matching using global orientation features and (b) matching using minutia triangulation. The comparison is done using accuracy, time and number of similar features. The experiment is conducted on a datasets of 100 candidates using four (4) fingerprints from each candidate. The data is sampled from a mass registration conducted by a reputable organization in Kenya.Theresearch reveals that fingerprint matching based on algorithm (b) performs better in speed with an average of 38.32 milliseconds
as compared to matching based on algorithm (a) with an average of 563.76 milliseconds. On accuracy, algorithm(a) performs better with an average accuracy of 0.142433 as compared to algorithm (b) with an average accuracy score of 0.004202.
Biometric authentication is one of the most popular and accurate technology. Now a days, it is used in many real time applications. However, recognizing finger prints in Linux based embedded computers (raspberry pi) is still a very complex problem. This entire work is done on the Linux based embedded computer called raspberry pi, in which database creation, fingerprint reader access, authentication and recognition using python were entirely done on raspberry pi This paper discusses on the standardized authentication model which is capable of extracting the finger prints of individual and store that in database . Then the use of final finger print to match with others in finger prints present in the database to show the capability of this model and also updating the database obtained to the organisation by creating an application through cloud. CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

ABSTRACT
Overlapped fingerprints captured at the crime scene plays significant role as an evidence to capture the
criminals. As latent fingerprints are the accidently left skin impressions, so these are found to be with broken
ridge composition, overlapped patterns and spoiled minutiae information. The Graphical User Interface (GUI)
system is developed by using MATLAB R2015a software. This project also includes the development of
standalone program for this system. The main purpose of GUI development is to get the value of real end points
and real-branch points of a overlapped fingerprint image. The value of this point is used in fingerprint image
matching process to identify the owner of an overlapped fingerprint image. The image enhancement consists of
several process such as histogram equalization process, enhancement by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) factor,
and image binarization while minutiae extraction consist of ridge thinning process, region of interest (ROI)
extraction, and minutiae extraction process. All processes should be done one by one.

I. INTRODUCTION
Fingerprint identification method is well
adapted approach in the many forensic, law
enforcement and civil applications for the reliable
personal authentication. The fingerprint will
continue to be the leading biometric trait and many
identity management and access control
applications will continue to rely on fingerprint
recognition because of its proven performance, the
existence of large databases and the availability of
compact and cheap fingerprint devices. New
research problems have accompanied the wide
development of fingerprint technology. It includes
feature extraction from low quality images,
liveness detection and automated latent fingerprint
identification, separating overlapped fingerprint or
recognizing one of the fingerprint from an
overlapped one. Biometrics system refers to the
recognition of a person based on their physical or
behavioral characteristics. A good biometric
system should be easily assessable, unique and
secure over period time. It should be exact, quick,
robust, secure and inexpensive. The biometric
techniques can potentially prevent unauthorized
access to or the fraudulent use of ATM, cellular
phones, smart cards, desktop PCs, workstations,
and computer networks. Fingerprints are the most
widely recognized biometric, particularly for
criminal applications and forensic applications.
Fingerprints have been routinely used as a method
for person identification for more than decades.
Fingerprint recognition has wide application
prospect in all fields which contain identity
authentication. Construction of accurate and

Therefore, it is desirable to develop a
technique that can automatically separate
overlapped fingerprints into their individual
fingerprints to improve the matching performance.
II. PROPOSED SYSTEM
The proposed system for fingerprint
classification involves (i) the extraction of features
of given fingerprint image, (ii) Feature Orientation
(iii) labeling of each oriented fingerprint in to six
class like arch, tented arch, right loop, left loop,
twin loop, whorl. The fingerprints have been
traditionally classified into categories based on
information in the global patterns of ridges.
Fingerprint classification provides an important
indexing mechanism in a fingerprint database. An
accurate and consistent classification can greatly
reduce fingerprint matching time from a large
database. We present a fingerprint classification
algorithm which is able to achieve an accuracy
better Efforts in automatic fingerprint classification
have been exclusively directed. The fingerprint

classification of fingers into the six classes. It
consist of user interface to provide interaction for
user with system, the system database is the
collections of the recorded data and enrolment
module and authentication module is present for
system input and verification of the fingerprint
image given by user.
In the proposed methodology 10 samples
are taken which is already stored in the system and
in PIC controller of hardware so used. In the
hardware, the PIC controller, driver motor for gate

genuine or not can be recognized.
Below figure depicts the flowchart of the complete
system:

2.1 Steps involved
Step1: First we take original fingerprint image and
performing image enhancement by using histogram
equalization.
Step2: For better enhancement we use histogram
equalization image as an input to the FFT algorithm.
Step3: The enhanced image is binarized using
binarization algorithm.

Step4: For directional map, orientational flow of
estimation is done.
Step5: For extracting the unnecessary part is done
with the help of Gabor filter through which a
specific point of the overlapped image is extracted
so that location of each point can be located.
Step6: After this classification is done by artifical
neural network, in which on the basis of region of
interest (ROI).
Step7: With the help of the classifier the output on
the command window is genuine or fake, depending
on the compared data.
III. CONCLUSION
The developed overlapped fingerprint
separation for fingerprint authentication, clearly
displayed technique has enormously enhanced
fingerprint image classification accuracy. Simulation
results verified that the proposed calculation is
precise and powerful.
In addition, Image quality of the overlapped
fingerprints used in the current experiments is
relatively good. It also compare with the data in the
fingerprint classification process, which authenticate
that the given sample is genuine or fake. We are in
the process of collecting additional latent overlapped
fingerprints of various qualities that are lifted using
different latent development methods. And also to
compare the fingerprints obtained at different ages
of a person.
