Overcoming Negative Success Indicators
Making excuses and blaming others:
1. Have a plan and stick to it. When thing do work out don’t make excuses for it just try again.
2. Instead of blaming others look within you for what improvements are needed. Be truthful
with yourself.
Tardiness (late for classes):
1. Leave ten minutes earlier then usual, give yourself time to deal with last minute obstacles.
2. Have the “Being on time is late” attitude. Try to be there at least 5 minutes before class
starts so that you can settle in.
Avoiding responsibility:
1. Take responsibility for your self and your actions.
2. Understand that the rewards are great for the one that makes the right choices.
Partying over studying:
1. Prioritize! Plan! Manage you time.
2. Make time for fun, so that when you’re studying you don’t feel like your missing out.
Apathy:
1. Eat healthy. Get a good night sleep. Rest! Take short brakes.
2. Look for connections, find solutions. Find out “What inspires you?” and “What motivates
you?”
No focus or goals
1. Desire success. Be persistent. Look at all of the options that you got and take the best one
for you.
2. Put in effort. Make decisions. Ask yourself “what do I want?” “What makes me happy?”
”What am I good at?” ”what can I do to help others?”
Pessimism:
1. Have a positive attitude.
2. Believe in yourself!
Social isolation (shyness):
1. Accept your flaws.
2. Find others that inspire you.
