NAME: Melissa Ramos
Directions: Below, you will find a list of some of the most common negative success indicators
for students today. Develop at least two positive strategies to overcome each indicator.
Making excuses and blaming others:
1. Take blame for the things you do.
2. Have things done on time so excuses aren’t needed.
Tardiness (late for classes):
1. Leave your house 20 minutes earlier.
2. Take the shortest route to campus.
Avoiding responsibility:
1.Realize you are growing up.
2. Be a role model.
Partying over studying:
1. Think of your future.
2. Plan to party on weekends only.
Apathy:
1. Take it one step at a time.
2. Practice makes perfect.
No focus or goals
1. Set goals and make plans for your’ future.
2. Be better than those around you.
Pessimism:
1. Gain self-confidence and fear nothing in your way.
2. Believe in yourself when nobody else does.
Social isolation (shyness):
1. Converse with your peers
2. Attend socials and parties.
