Alfred Hitchcock Film Analysis
I ve gone on the record as saying I like Alfred Hitchcock s films, though I only
really love one so far ( Psycho ). My admiration for Hitchcock, along with the
number of his films I love, increased after we watched his beloved Vertigo in my
class. It may have barely surpassed Psycho as my favorite Hitchcock film. This film
stars James Stewart as John Scottie Ferguson, a San Francisco detective forced to
quit the force after a traumatizing event causes him to develop acrophobia. He soon
takes up a case as a sort of private eye, however, when an old acquaintance from
college asks him to investigate the strange habits of his wife (Kim Novak). Stewart
obliges, with dire consequences. One of the surprises in this film, for me, was
Stewart as Scottie, who performed excellently. I like Jimmy Stewart, but I ve
never been as enamored with him as some movie buffs. That has changed some, as
I think this is his best performance I ve seen. He makes you care for his character
and believe his motivations and feelings for the first portion of the movie. He
struggles a bit in the emotional scenes, but he still succeeds in evoking our
sympathy. By the end of the film, his performance takes a remarkable turn and he
becomes genuinely disturbing. It s brilliant. Kim Novak is also great as Madeleine
Elster, the wife Stewart s character follows. She has a creepy, disturbing quality about

As humans, we see life flash before our eyes and many things we take for granted
and do not give a second reasoning on. Little thought goes into to what effects; we
actually have on nature and what consequences that has on our own nature. For
this there is literature, which helps unravel human nature and explain what can
result from this carelessness. Golding and Marquez highlight the negative impacts
on human nature, through dialogue and setting. The authors want readers to
believe, that there is more wrong doing in today s society, than there is good. To
start out, at one point in everyone s life they have most likely wanted to be famous
or be involved in leadership. Too much of this treatment may lead to greed, which
is a downfall of human nature. Two authors Golding of, Lord of the Flies and

Lord of the Flies, greed is shown through Jack believing that he should be leader,

Alone or in combination, the removal of vegetation can be caused by overgrazing,

Overtime, during the 1600 s and 1700 s many missionaries and fur trappers and
other French colonists came to Canada and lived with the Native Americans. Some
of the French who came even intermarried with some of the Native Americans.
Eventually, Britain came to power and took control of Canada in 1763 after
defeating France in the French and Indian war. After Britain took power, many
English speaking people settled into Canada. Most of these English speaking

The crocodile has a significant role in Papua New Guinea culture. The people over
there believe that reptiles are human s ancestors. The reason they are cutting their
skin and pretending to be a crocodile is because they also believe by withstanding

future. Also the skin cutting act is for separating young men from the world of

exhibits different notions of moral judgment through religion and society. Marlowe s
exploration of the Saint Bartholomew s Day Massacre may have been intentional as it
was written during the period of Elizabethan rule . In this case, morals and ethics are
