The classroom that I completed my field experience in was a self contained ninth
through twelfth grade. The class consists of four male students, a teacher, and two
paraprofessionals. The students in the classroom have severe behaviors that do not
allow them to be successful in a regular classroom. I completed the observation
over a period of four days. The first day that I went to observe was in the morning
from 8:30 to 9:30. When I arrived, the students were leaving the cafeteria from eating
breakfast. Once they got to the classroom, they unpacked their backpacks, putting
their agendas and folders into a basket on that is on the teacher s desk. The students
then sat down at their desk and began working on the morning journal. The journal
topic for the day was What is your favorite subject? Why? One of the students wrote
his journal within ten minutes, while it took the other students about thirty minutes
for them to complete the journal. One of the students in the class kept getting out of
his seat to come and talk to the teacher and paraprofessional. He wanted them to take
a picture of him. They would tell him no and that he needed to return to his seat. He

Analysis Of The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee
Growth and Acceptance The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was done
wonderfully and quite entertaining. While a musical about a spelling bee does not
sound like the most exciting thing to watch, the performances by each actor
provided a great atmosphere for the production. Going into the play, I was
expecting it to be a kid s show, which kids would enjoy the musical but may not
quite get all of the jokes. The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee was more aimed at
adults. Every adult that was watching the play, myself included, was rolling out of
their seats. The play managed to be engaging and funny throughout the entire play.
Within the play, each actor has a different background story. Each actor in the play,
plays a big role and stood out in their own specific way. Also, this specific play
differs from the other plays we have seen but it has few similarities. Beginning, the
25TH Annual Putnam Spelling Bee play overall is a musical comedy. The play was
more fast paced, more laughing was involved and much more singing. Which led to
the play in particular being quite more engaging than others. The production in this
play differed from the other plays we ve seen. The audience interaction was the best
part of the production. One difference to me is the play involved four people from

that goes on there are over 25 trillion pieces of plastic inside of the ocean. While
that is a large number, only 269,000 tons can be seen afloat the water ( Ocean

just how much waste enters our ocean would be just to say too much, but to be
exact, in 2007 2.12 billion tons of garbage enter the ocean and just three years later

the United Nations Environment Program did an experiment on how much plastic
there was every square mile of the ocean. They ended up estimating about 46,000

approaching getting louder with every second, I can feel my heart thumping in my

Hemmingway and Faulkner Essay
As it pertains to literature, prose refers to arrangement and format. Literary works
written in prose style mirror everyday speaking. Prose medium differentiates itself
from poetry in the use of unmetered, unrhymed language consisting of logically
related sentences (Gale). Although the meaning, message or point of the work may
be obscure and hidden, the format is one easily read and understood by the audience.
Ernest Hemmingway and William Faulkner are but two success stories utilizing this
simple and yet complex literary layout. Ernest Hemmingway was born in Oak Park,
Illinois in 1899 to a physician who initiated him into the world of hunting and fishing

Robert Jordan, in For Whom the Bell Tolls, loses his life for cause already lost
which gives prime example to Hemmingway s desire to focus not so much on the
kill, but the thrill of the chase (Perkins). Oddly enough, Hemmingway, a staunch
hunter and outdoorsman, perished not from natural causes, but from a self inflicted
gun shot wound. While living through the same period, Ernest Hemmingway and
William Faulkner, another prominent figure in literature of the period, were vastly
different. William Faulkner had the creative ability to portray reality, in words, in a
more realistic manner than reality itself. He did this in stark contrast to
Hemmingway s short simple sentences by employing long sentences and many
words to weave an intricate picture of what is going on (Associated). In order to
fully process what Faulkner is saying, a person of less than average intelligence may
do well to have a dictionary standing by, while Hemmingway can be read by the vast
majority. This is not saying that Faulkner is any less successful at getting the reader
to understand the point of the work, but it may appeal to a smaller audience. While
Faulkner and Hemmingway may differ on the avenues they utilize, they are similar in
that their works center on conflict. Hemmingway captures the audience with external
conflicts, wars and confrontational situations. Faulkner, on the other
