Brief highlighting the promotional package.

1. Original Brief
We have been set the challenge of creating a promotionalpackage to advertise
a new and original horror movie. This promotional packagewill consistof three
pieces of media; a slasher trailer, a slasher poster and a horror magazinefront
cover. To make it appear more professionaland to increase its marketing
appeal the three pieces will sharemany examples of symbiosis through the use
of image, colour and text. They will also sharethe samestyle and design
choices, i.e. in font and imagery.
We have chosen the genre of horror as it is a fun, thrilling and exciting genre of
film. The horror genrealso tends to have a shocking and nail biting effect on
the audience which, we as a group cannot wait to take on board and mirror
when in the making of our own horror film trailer. The sub-genrewe have
decided to focus on is slasher. The promotional packagewill advertise a new
horror film within the slasher subgenreof horror. Thefilm will follow the
general conventions of the genre and subgenre by including typical horror
sequences such as jump scares, screams, blood and gore. Slasher is one of the
most developed and iconic subgenres of horror; thereforewehave a lot of
competition. We need to ensure everything about our slasher stands out,
therefore individuality will be highlighted through merging each of our ideas
into unity
As a group, wecannot wait to take part in the construction of a professional
promotional package. The following individuals, Shauna Mullen, Salina Daniel
and Bradley Youngman make up the rest of my group.
