VMware has achieved broad usage, with some studies indicating that 80% or more of enterprises now use some VMware products. OpenStack, on the other hand, has quickly become the most important OpenSource community since Linux itself.
What’s it like to use OpenStack for virtualization and private cloud? And how does that compare to VMware’s solutions?

No matter if you are a lonely system administrator or the CTO of the largest carrier in the World, getting to know what’s out there is a jungle. Is VMware still the lead? I’ve heard about OpenStack, how mature is that? And what this “Ganeti” I’ve never heard of?
Well, here I am. Guess what, you’re not the only one asking these questions. I traveled most of Europe hearing world’s most famous enterprises, banks and telcos and also in contact with many vendors’ labs, from San Francisco to Munich.
In this presentation I just wish to give a quick overview of the state-of-the-art in the IaaS and virtualization world. This is not a sales or marketing presentation: no vaporware, just pure and real experience from the field.

OpenStack + VMware: Deploy, Upgrade, & Operate a Powerful Production OpenStac...Mark Voelker
In this sponsored session from the OpenStack Summit in Barcelona (October 2016), we discuss VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO). We explain what VIO is and describe it's underpinning components, as well as how it solves real-world problems such as: how to make administering an OpenStack cloud easier, fast deployments and reliable, zero-workload-downtime upgrades, architectural decoupling of the control and data planes, and solving the "empty cloud" problem.
Working with AKS for more then 3 months, I want to share my experience. I discuss benefits of AKS and some issues you might have. K8S is damn close to a silver bullet in regards of the simplicity to work with.

Running OpenStack on Amazon AWS: In this talk we will demonstrate how to create an exact replica of an on-premises OpenStack configuration in the public cloud (AWS/EC-2, GCE or HP Cloud) and spin multiple copies of this environment in a matter of minutes. We will technically elaborate how we use our own high performance nested hypervisor HVX, and software defined networking - to run OpenStack guests with KVM acceleration on top of any public cloud.

OpenStack in an Ever Expanding World of Possibilities - Vancouver 2015 SummitLew Tucker
Over the past several years we have seen the continued adoption of OpenStack and it’s expansion into new areas: from cloud service providers, enterprise private clouds to large media companies, telecommunication giants, and big science. At the same time, open source based platforms for network functions virtualization (NFV) are fueling a movement toward cloud computing in almost all major telco’s.
In the developer world, open source projects, such as Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, and Spark are gaining a lot of attention and being integrated into OpenStack through projects Kolla and Magnum.
This session will cover how these projects and activities relate to each other and further expand the utility and adoption OpenStack.
This session reviews what customers need to know about using EMC products in an OpenStack cloud OS environment. This session also reviews which products are available for use in Folsom, Grizzly, and upcoming OpenStack releases. We briefly examine best practices for those products in lab and production deployments. Finally, we will consider where EMC's future participation in OpenStack may lead.
Objective 1: Understand what OpenStack open source software is, how it can be used as a framework to build private clouds, and how EMC is contributing to this open source community.
After this session you will be able to:
Objective 2: Identify which EMC products are available for use in OpenStack today, and how those products add value to private cloud solutions that use OpenStack.
Objective 3: Understand requirements, configurations, and best practices for deployment of EMC products in both lab and production environments.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
