The document summarizes a study on faculty perceptions and attitudes toward open educational resources (OER) and sharing educational materials at a university faculty of health and life sciences. A survey of 52 faculty found most had a basic understanding of OER but few were aware of specific repositories. The Virtual Analytical Laboratory (VAL) resource developed by the university was poorly used due to lack of publicity within the faculty. While faculty shared materials with close colleagues, few shared more widely. Respondents were generally favorable toward sharing but saw potential barriers like copyright and lack of incentives or training.
