Oleander is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to parts of Africa, Asia, and Europe. It is one of the most poisonous plants known, as all parts contain cardiac glycosides that can cause heart problems and be lethal even from a single leaf. While commonly used as an ornamental plant that is drought tolerant, the entire oleander plant is highly toxic if ingested and poisonings require immediate medical treatment.
