It provides examples for each principle, such as that meaningful information is easier to learn than meaningless information for principle 2, and that spacing out study sessions is more effective than studying in large blocks for principle 5. Mnemonic devices are also described as memory tricks that can help remember information through associations.

For example when a child learns to
read they are able to retain this
knowledge and behavior for the rest
of their lives.

Categorization is the restructuring of

for easier recall.

Association
New information is easier to learn and
remember if you can connect it with
previously learned or familiar
information.

The length of time and spacing
between reading-study lessons
directly affects how much to learn.
Generally, it is more effective to space
or spread out study sessions rather
than to study in one or two large
blocks of time.
