The department chair is responsible for overseeing all department operations and is advised by the business office. Faculty have split appointments involving research, teaching, and extension. The department focuses its research and extension efforts on poultry, cattle, and horses. Faculty with extension appointments conduct applied research and provide extension programming to the relevant industries in Maryland.
