If we will know the advantage and disadvantage of
Nuclear power, it will be easier to us to understand
the future of Nuclear power.
Advantages of Nuclear Power
1. Clean
Nuclear power plant do not
produce CO2. So Green
House effect can be
reduced by transforming
fossil power plant to
nuclear power plant.
2. Plentiful Supply
Nuclear power plant has a
plentiful supply of energy.
The electricity supply of the
developed countries are
depend on nuclear power. It
can reduce the price of other
fossil fuels like petrol, gas etc.
3. Fuel of Nuclear power.
Fuel: Uranium(235).
*Small fuel pellet.
*Energy savings in transportation.
*Can be found from anywhere.
4. Low operating cost.
Operating cost of a
nuclear power plant is
very low after
construction.
Disadvantages of Nuclear Power
1. High initial construction

$4 Million for a 1 Mega-Watt power plant.

spend ($4 million*2000MW) = 8 Billion

4. Accidents in Nuclear Power Plant
 Sometimes accidents may
occurs in Nuclear power
plant by blasting the
plant’s core. It may occurs
for the faulty instruments
or faulty maintenance.

120,000 people attended an
anti-nuclear protest in Bonn,
Germany on October 14,
1979, following the Three
Mile Island accident.
 Nuclear (fission) power stations provided 11% of the world's
electricity.
 In 2013, the IAEA reported that there are 437 operational
civil fission-electric reactors in 31 countries.
 France is the largest user of nuclear energy, deriving 75%
of its electricity from fission.
 In 2015, the IAEA report that worldwide there were 67 civil
fission-electric power reactors under construction in 15
countries including Gulf States such as the United Arab
Emirates (UAE).
 Over half of the 67 total being built are in Asia, with 28
in the People’s Republic of China(PRC).

►NPT-designated nuclear weapon states (China,
France, Russia, United Kingdom and United
States). These five states are also the UN
Security Council's permanent members with veto
power.
►Other states with nuclear weapons (India,
Pakistan and North Korea)
►Other states thought to have nuclear weapons
(Israel)
►NATO nuclear weapons sharing states (Belgium,
Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey)
►States formerly possessing nuclear weapons
(Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, South Africa)

11. Capture CO2 at coal-to-synfuels plant
12. Wind H2 in fuel-cell car for gasoline in hybrid car
13. Biomass fuel for fossil fuel

  • 9. Advantages of Nuclear Power 1. Clean Nuclear power plant do not produce CO2. So Green House effect can be reduced by transforming fossil power plant to nuclear power plant.
  • 10. 2. Plentiful Supply Nuclear power plant has a plentiful supply of energy. The electricity supply of the developed countries are depend on nuclear power. It can reduce the price of other fossil fuels like petrol, gas etc.

  • 17. 4. Accidents in Nuclear Power Plant  Sometimes accidents may occurs in Nuclear power plant by blasting the plant’s core. It may occurs for the faulty instruments or faulty maintenance.

  • 20.  Nuclear (fission) power stations provided 11% of the world's electricity.  In 2013, the IAEA reported that there are 437 operational civil fission-electric reactors in 31 countries.  France is the largest user of nuclear energy, deriving 75% of its electricity from fission.  In 2015, the IAEA report that worldwide there were 67 civil fission-electric power reactors under construction in 15 countries including Gulf States such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  Over half of the 67 total being built are in Asia, with 28 in the People’s Republic of China(PRC).
