Creating an Assignment Plan
When creating an assignment, consider the ways students will Interact with the text by thinking
about the following questions:
Before Reading:
How will I hook my students and generate interest? What do I think my students already know
about this topic? When have my students already practiced this standard, if at all?
During Reading :
What will my students do as they are reading? How will I differentiate the reading experience
for my students? Will my students write or discuss as they are reading?
After Reading:
How will my students practice what they are learning? How will my students show what they
learn? What rubric or assessment tool(s) will I use?
