    successful & seamless transitions?
•   A 2005 study by the National Center for Education Statistics found that
    students who wait to enroll in college are at "considerable risk of not
    completing a postsecondary credential when compared with their peers who
    enroll immediately after high school graduation." Is this a widespread
    obstacle?

•   Are bridge programs only for "at risk" students?

  • 4. Why is it important to focus on bridging the gap? • What are the challenges that high schools face when preparing students for college? • What are the challenges that Higher Ed institutions face when working with new students? • What are the common challenges faced by both groups? 3

What are the obstacles that prevent successful & seamless transitions? • A 2005 study by the National Center for Education Statistics found that students who wait to enroll in college are at "considerable risk of not completing a postsecondary credential when compared with their peers who enroll immediately after high school graduation." Is this a widespread obstacle? • Are bridge programs only for "at risk" students? 4
