Novice Teacher
WHAT IS A NOVICE TEACHER ?
A novice Teacher is defined as any licenced
teacher who is new to or inexperienced in
teaching.
WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS
OF NOVICE TEACHER ?
A novice teacher is scared , excited and nervous.
A novice teacher has problems with classroom management.
A novice teacher is often afraid to admit it when he does not
know something.
A novice plans activities that take a significant amount of
time.
A novice sticks to lesson plans.
TIPS FOR A NOVICE TEACHER
I. Tips for Teaching on the First Day of Class
 Get well dressed.
 Set the stage.
 Chat briefly with Students.
 Act confident and enthusiastic. ( do not show them you are
nervous)
 Be yourself.

II. Be prepared
Do not wait until the last minute to devise unit or lesson plans.
Be flexible.
Always have examples ready that are relevant to the students' lives.
Don't expect every class to react the same to various activities and
discussions.

III.Be Patient
Give students enough thinking time.
If your Students do not understand the Question , paraphrase
it.
Realize and accept that not all students will remain at the
same level academically.
Listen attentively to students' problems.

IV.Be a Real Person.
Treat your students with respect at all times. Never embarrass
a student or make a student feel bad about himself or herself.
Don't dislike any student -- dislike behaviours or attitudes.
Encourage students to dream.
Maintain a sense of humour with students.

V. Be Sensible with Discipline.
Establish firm ground rules regarding class conduct on the first day
of class and stick to those rules.
Don't be afraid to talk to fellow teachers about problems you are
facing inside the classroom.
Be sure to let parents know early if there is a problem.
Never let them see you sweat

Expert Teacher
WHAT IS AN EXPERT TEACHER ?
Expert teacher can be defined as a person
who has extensive skill ,experience and
knowledge in teaching field.
WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF
AN EXPERT TEACHER ?
Expert teacher has a massive knowledge and teaching
experience.
Experts make more transitions among teaching activities than
did novices.
Expert teachers can handle an emergency situation with
calmness and speed.
Expert teachers know when to supplement a lesson.
Expert teachers view discipline as instructional, not punitive.
WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF
AN EXPERT TEACHER ?
Expert teachers are capable of scanning an entire room to
better understand how classroom events are unfolding.
Experts can teach without lesson plans.
Expert teachers can describe a student's progress by using
standardized measures to give precise information.
Experts read a lot.
