This paper analyzed different haze removal methods. Haze causes trouble to
many computer graphics/vision applications as it reduces the visibility of the scene. Air light and
attenuation are two basic phenomena of haze. air light enhances the whiteness in scene and on
the other hand attenuation reduces the contrast. the colour and contrast of the scene is recovered
by haze removal techniques. many applications like object detection , surveillance, consumer
electronics etc. apply haze removal techniques. this paper widely focuses on the methods of
effectively eliminating haze from digital images. it also indicates the demerits of current
techniques.

The single image dehazing based on efficient transmission estimationAVVENIRE TECHNOLOGIES
We propose a novel haze imaging model for single image haze removal. Haze imaging model is formulated using dark channel prior (DCP), scene radiance, intensity, atmospheric light and transmission medium. The dark channel prior is based on the statistics of outdoor haze-free images. We find that, in most of the local regions which do not cover the sky, some pixels (called dark pixels) very often have very low intensity in at least one color (RGB) channel. In hazy images, the intensity of these dark pixels in that channel is mainly contributed by the air light. Therefore, these dark pixels can directly provide an accurate estimation of the haze transmission. Combining a haze imaging model and a interpolation method, we can recover a high-quality haze free image and produce a good depth map.

A Review over Different Blur Detection Techniques in Image Processingpaperpublications3
Abstract: In last few years there is lot of development and attentions in area of blur detection techniques. The Blur detection techniques are very helpful in real life application and are used in image segmentation, image restoration and image enhancement. Blur detection techniques are used to remove the blur from a blurred region of an image which is due to defocus of a camera or motion of an object. In this literature review we represent some techniques of blur detection such as Blind image de-convolution, Low depth of field, Edge sharpness analysis, and Low directional high frequency energy. After studying all these techniques we have found that there are lot of future work is required for the development of perfect and effective blur detection technique.

Review of Image Segmentation Techniques based on Region Merging ApproachEditor IJMTER
Image segmentation is an important task in computer vision and object recognition. Since
fully automatic image segmentation is usually very hard for natural images, interactive schemes with a
few simple user inputs are good solutions. In image segmentation the image is dividing into various
segments for processing images. The complexity of image content is a bigger challenge for carrying out
automatic image segmentation. On regions based scheme, the images are merged based on the similarity
criteria depending upon comparing the mean values of both the regions to be merged. So, the similar
regions are then merged and the dissimilar regions are merged together.

A NOVEL ALGORITHM FOR IMAGE DENOISING USING DT-CWT sipij
This paper addresses image enhancement system consisting of image denoising technique based on Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DT-CWT) . The proposed algorithm at the outset models the noisy remote sensing image (NRSI) statistically by aptly amalgamating the structural features and textures from it. This statistical model is decomposed using DTCWT with Tap-10 or length-10 filter banks based on
Farras wavelet implementation and sub band coefficients are suitably modeled to denoise with a method which is efficiently organized by combining the clustering techniques with soft thresholding - softclustering technique. The clustering techniques classify the noisy and image pixels based on the
neighborhood connected component analysis(CCA), connected pixel analysis and inter-pixel intensity variance (IPIV) and calculate an appropriate threshold value for noise removal. This threshold value is used with soft thresholding technique to denoise the image .Experimental results shows that that the
proposed technique outperforms the conventional and state-of-the-art techniques .It is also evaluated that the denoised images using DTCWT (Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform) is better balance between smoothness and accuracy than the DWT.. We used the PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) along with
RMSE to assess the quality of denoised images.

This paper presents a novel way to reduce noise introduced or exacerbated by image enhancement methods, in particular
algorithms based on the random spray sampling technique, but not only. According to the nature of sprays,
output images of spray-based methods tend to exhibit noise with unknown statistical distribution. To avoid inappropriate
assumptions on the statistical characteristics of noise, a different one is made. In fact, the non-enhanced image is
considered to be either free of noise or affected by non-perceivable levels of noise. Taking advantage of the higher sensitivity
of the human visual system to changes in brightness, the analysis can be limited to the luma channel of both the
non-enhanced and enhanced image. Also, given the importance of directional content in human vision, the analysis is
performed through the dual-tree complex wavelet transform , lanczos interpolator and edge preserving smoothing filters.
Unlike the discrete wavelet transform, the DTWCT allows for distinction of data directionality in the transform space.
For each level of the transform, the standard deviation of the non-enhanced image coefficients is computed across the
six orientations of the DTWCT, then it is normalized.
Keywords: dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTWCT), lanczos interpolator, edge preserving smoothing filters.

Adaptive denoising technique for colour imageseSAT Journals
Abstract
In digital image processing noise removal or noise filtering plays an important role, because for meaningful and useful processing images should not be corrupted by noises. In recent years, high quality televisions have become very popular but noise often affects TV broadcasts. Impulse noise corrupts the video during transmission and acquisition of signals. A number of denoising techniques have been introduced to remove impulse noise from images . Linear noise filtering technique does not work well when the noise is non-adaptive in nature and hence a number of non-linear filtering technique where introduced. In non-linear filtering technique, median filters and its modifications where used to remove noise but it resulted in blurring of images. Therefore here we propose an adaptive digital signal processing approach that can efficiently remove impulse noise from colour image. This algorithm is based on threshold which is adaptive in nature. This algorithm replaces the pixel only if it is found to be noisy pixel otherwise the original pixel is retained thus it results a better filtering technique when compared to median filters and its modified filters.

Image noise reduction by deep learning methodsIJECEIAES
Image noise reduction is an important task in the field of computer vision and image processing. Traditional noise filtering methods may be limited by their ability to preserve image details. The purpose of this work is to study and apply deep learning methods to reduce noise in images. The main tasks of noise reduction in images are the removal of Gaussian noise, salt and pepper noise, noise of lines and stripes, noise caused by compression, and noise caused by equipment defects. In this paper, such noises as the removal of raindrops, dust, and traces of snow on the images were considered. In the work, complex patterns and high noise density were studied. A deep learning algorithm, such as the decomposition method with and without preprocessing, and their effectiveness in applying noise reduction are considered. It is expected that the results of the study will confirm the effectiveness of deep learning methods in reducing noise in images. This may lead to the development of more accurate and versatile image processing methods capable of preserving details and improving the visual quality of images in various fields, including medicine, photography, and video.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Noise reduction based on partial reference, dual-tree complex wavelet transform shrinkage
1. Noise Reduction Based on Partial-Reference, Dual-Tree Complex
Wavelet Transform Shrinkage
ABSTRACT:
This paper presents a novel way to reduce noise introduced or exacerbated by image
enhancement methods, in particular algorithms based on the random spray sampling technique,
but not only. According to the nature of sprays, output images of spray-based methods tend to
exhibit noise with unknown statistical distribution. To avoid inappropriate assumptions on the
statistical characteristics of noise, a different one is made. In fact, the non-enhanced image is
considered to be either free of noise or affected by non-perceivable levels of noise. Taking
advantage of the higher sensitivity of the human visual system to changes in brightness, the
analysis can be limited to the luma channel of both the non-enhanced and enhanced image.
Also, given the importance of directional content in human vision, the analysis is performed
through the dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTWCT). Unlike the discrete wavelet
transform, the DTWCT allows for distinction of data directionality in the transform space. For
each level of the transform, the standard deviation of the non-enhanced image coefficients is
computed across the six orientations of the DTWCT, then it is normalized. The result is a map
of the directional structures present in the non-enhanced image. Said map is then used to shrink
the coefficients of the enhanced image. The shrunk coefficients and the coefficients from the
non-enhanced image are then mixed according to data directionality. Finally, a noise-reduced

2. version of the enhanced image is computed via the inverse transforms. A thorough numerical
analysis of the results has been performed in order to confirm the validity of the proposed
approach.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
Independently of the specific transform used, the general assumption in multi-resolution
shrinkage is that image data gives rise to sparse coefficients in the transform space. Thus,
denoising can be achieved by compressing (shrinking) those coefficients that compromise data
sparsity. Such process is usually improved by an elaborate statistical analysis of the
dependencies between coefficients at different scales. Yet, while effective, traditional multi-
resolution methods are designed to only remove one particular type of noise (e.g. Gaussian
noise). Furthermore, only the input image is assumed to be given. Due to the unknown
statistical properties of the noise introduced by the use of sprays, traditional approaches do not
find the expected conditions, and thus their action becomes much less effective.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
Noise presents in all existing systems.
Due to noise presents, the action becomes less effective.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Having a reference allows the shrinkage process to be data-driven. A strong source of
inspiration were the works on the Dual-tree Complex Wavelet Transform by Kingsbury, the
work on the Steerable Pyramid Transform by Simoncelliet al. and the work on Wavelet
Coefficient Shrinkage by Donoho and Johnstone depicts the differences between traditional
noise-reduction methods and the one proposed.
3. ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The main point of novelty is represented by its application in post-processing on the output of
an image enhancement method (both the non enhanced image and the enhanced one are
required) and the lack of assumptions on the statistical distribution of noise. On the other hand,
the non-enhanced image is supposed to be noise-free or affected by non perceivable noise.
