To Whom It May Concern:
Nicholas Locke was a Sales Representative for The AroundCampus Group from May 18, 2015 until July 23, 2015.
Nick’s knowledge and expertise in the collegiate market allowed him to achieve personal success throughout the
summer. His ability to lead her team and motivate both himself and others were a few of his strongest assets.
The AroundCampus Group, the nation’s premier publisher of campus directories and student planners, provides a
phenomenal internship program experience to students from universities across the country. Nick was the sales
team leader for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington team and sold and marketed our advertising platform
full-time during the summer in Wilmington, North Carolina. Our internship program begins with a one week
nationally recognized training program in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on the University of North Carolina’s campus.
Training is incredibly fast-paced and hands-on, covering topics such as advertising/marketing strategy, ethical
sales practices, time management, leadership skills, and professional communication skills.
Transferring these skills to the field, I had the opportunity to work with Nick on numerous sales calls, and he
demonstrated excitement to build relationships with new clients while maintaining a professional demeanor. The
skill set he acquired during his summer experience is something that would aid in the success of any career he
chooses to embark upon. Nick’s ability to go beyond the call of duty with customers through successful follow-ups
and account management not only shows his dedication but his servant leadership.
Nick’s responsibilities included making sales presentations to local businesses on advertising strategies for the
University of North Carolina-Wilmington campus publication. He successfully handled objections, planned and
executed successful team meetings to engage his peers, efficiently managed a territory, and created advertising
portfolios for his customers.
Nick has what it takes to build a strong career for himself while staying true to his morals and ideals. During the
summer, he became an advocate for his team’s success and fostered a positive atmosphere the entire summer. I
extend my support to Nick. His positive attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn will bring much success for
his in the future. Please don’t hesitate to call me at 1-800-743-5556 x6108 or e-mail me at
