Project Jacquard allows users to turn clothing into an interactive surface by weaving conductive yarns into fabrics. Google unveiled Project Jacquard at its annual I/O conference in 2015. Jacquard yarns can be woven on industrial looms and connect to electronics to enable touch and gesture control of mobile devices or online services without needing a screen. Levi Strauss & Co. is Google's first partner to release Jacquard-enabled clothing in 2016. The technology aims to combine fashion and technology by making fabrics that are cuttable, washable, and connect users seamlessly.
