This document discusses a new definition and theory of cancer proposed by Dr. RK Dhaugoda called the stem cell-microRNA Theory of Cancer. The key points of the theory are:
1) It proposes that cancer stem cells arise from normal stem cells due to decreased production of mature microRNAs in the stem cells caused by persistent exposure to cellular stress factors or decreased anti-stress factors.
2) This leads to deregulation of stem cell physiology including abnormal gene expression and uncontrolled growth, resulting in the transformation of normal stem cells into cancer stem cells.
3) The theory applies the concept of "opposites within opposites" from dialectics to describe the relationship between normal and cancer stem cells
