Meerkats are a member of the ferret family and
mainly eat insects and small mammals. Meerkats live
in burrow systems in deserts. Meerkats have 2 cm
long curved claws on the end of each finger. When
the meerkat senses danger it stands on its hind legs
and scouts the area. Meerkats live in large groups of
20-30 members. Meerkats can be found throughout
South Africa. Meerkats usually have 2-5 pups in each
litter. Meerkats fur is normally a golden yellow so it
can camouflage from predators. It can live in the
desert by digging burrow systems to escape from the
heat.
Adult female black widow spider have a orange
hourglass pattern on the underside of their
abdomen. Black Widow spiders can be found
worldwide. The Black Widows bite can be 15
times stronger than a rattlesnake. Black
Widows eat smaller insects who get trapped in
their web. The spiders bite is almost never fatal
and only bite in acts of self defence. As adults
the females will sometimes eat the male. Black
widows construct webs under plants to protect
the webs from damage.
The weather in the desert is hot and dry
in the day.

And extremely cold at night.
