3. The last few decades the development of
new communication technologies has
exploded .One of the newest wireless
technology is Near Field Communication
(NFC) which is an extension of Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID).It uses
magnetic field induction to enable
communication between electronic devices
by touching themselves .It used for
contactless short-range communication of
ten centimeters.
4. ~ NFC roots back to radio-frequency identification (rid). RFID is a
technology which uses radio frequency signals to transmit small
amounts of data.
~ In 2002 Phillips and Sony was started work on NFC
~ In 2004, NFC became an accepted Information Communication
Technology.
~ In February 2013 Visa and Samsung entered a partnership, where
they together are developed better payment options using NFC .
5. BACKGROUND
NFC stands for Near Field Communication
implemented as a chip in a mobile phone or other
mobile device or in a card. NFC is short-range
wireless connectivity technology.
NFC is set of standards for smart phones to establish
communication with each other and close together.
That enables objects, such as mobile phones,
computers, tags, or posters, to exchange information
wirelessly across a small distance.
Currently, mobile phone manufacturers like
Nokia, HTC, Samsung, RIM (Blackberry),
banking institutions and mobile network
providers are attempting to apply this
technology.
6. operates at a frequency of
13.56 MHz, Data transfer rate is
slow, which is up to 424 Kb per
second .
NFC allows contactless and
secure dual-way communication
between two electronic devices
within close proximity. No need to
set-up can be established
communication quickly and easily.
It mainly aimed for mobile or
handheld devices .
The distance allowing for
communication between
NFC devices is between
three to ten centimeters this
provided high degree of
security .

IS
NFC
7. Why we need this technology ?
It is a modern technology
contributed in facilitate routine
transactions in everyday life it
enables devices to communicate with
each other with less effort and less
price and more secure .
It is suitable for roaming at all
times.
NFC is a hassle free communication.
NFC work with RFID tags .
8. Solutions and
Facilities
* More secure than
RFID and Bluetooth,
protect from hackers
because it is short range.
* share information,
and easier to use
transport and other
public services.

10. How this technology
work ?
Near field
communication, or NFC
for short, is an offshoot
of radio-frequency
identification (RFID)
with the exception that
NFC is designed for use
by devices within close
proximity to each
other(10 cm). the physics
principle for NFC/RFID
is a Magnetic induction.
11. Active mode vs Passive mode
Active mode
The sender and
receiver has the ability
to send and receive
from each other which
means that they owns
Passive mode
power source .
Only one device from

while The other device is
powered solely by the

15. IMPLEMENT THIS TECHNOLOGY
• Firstly, NFC technology is evolving continuously,
appearing in all areas of life and make your life easier.
• NFC devices can operate in three different modes:
1) Read/Write
2) Peer to Peer
emulation
3) Card
16. PAYMENT SYSTEMS
Google Wallet
Google Wallet (as digital wallet) it is
payment system developed by Google
that securely stores your credit cards,
debit cards, offers ,and more With Google
Wallet, you can send money, shop in
stores, and buy online uses near field
communication (NFC) .
18. RESEARCH AREAS FOR NFC TECHNOLOGY
Security
NFC vulnerable to attacks that threaten either the
security of information exchanged between the
transmitter and the receiver, or the user's privacy or
other attacks.
Usability
a. NFC in Context of Human Computer Interaction.
b. NFC and Ubiquitous Computing.
c. Design of NFC Phones.
Reliability
it is important field that NFC technology
provide it during transfer data between
devices
19. Cont …
Marketing
Facilitated the process of marketing to
customers, instead of carry a bank cards
only customer using Mobile for
payment.
Performance
NFC performance better than
Bluetooth .
flexibility
NFC technology provide The flexibility of
different data types to be stored on the
NFC tag , it does not require an additional
app to transfer information
22. In the future, near field communication
technology has the potential to become a
staple of our daily lives, it will be adopted
worldwide.
In the future, NFC is hoped to expand
from mobile payments to Student ID
cards Punch cards, Alternative to keys,
gaming systems
23. Near field communication (NFC) is an efficient
technology for communications with short range. it
provides a simple way to transfer different types
of data between electronic devices. this
technology is still at the beginning of the journey,
it is still under development to become one of the
most important techniques in the near future .
