The student enjoyed conducting lightning experiments independently and learned that tornadoes can lift people and structures. They wished to study high tides and volcanoes next. Writing scientific reports helped the student improve their explanatory writing, and they took pride in their independent lightning report. Researching tsunamis was easy but extracting relevant information from books for their speech was difficult. The student was proud that they memorized their entire tsunami speech and worked hard to explain their tectonic plate experiment. They enjoyed watching Bill Nye videos during the natural forces unit and may continue researching tsunamis.
