1. Natural Forces Reflection
WildWeather Experiments:
My favorite weather experiment wasMaking a Tornado because it looks cool
and was easy to make.Some of the important things I learned about
weather were the air pressure can push an egg in a flask. Because in the
flask there is low pressure and outside is high air pressure, so the high air
pressure wants to get to the cool, low air pressure, so they push the egg in
the flask to get more space. This is how wind works. If I did more
experiments, I would like to know about volcanoes, because I think if a
volcano explodes, it will be cool and I can know about the what is in the
volcano and what kind of force makes it explode.
Scientific Report Writing:
I wrote scientific reports about air pressure, the water cycle, static
electricity and length. The easiest section for me to write is aim because I
just need to write what the investigation is for, and the hypothesis does
not need to be correct.The hardest section for me to write is the
discussion because I need to answer two questions and it is too hard to
think of what to write and explain the science ideas.I am proud of my
science report on lightning because the report I wrote is mostly correct and
I tried my best to answer the two questions, and in that report my spelling
is almost all correct.While writing these reports, I became better at
writing a report by using the scientific method.
Research:
The natural disaster I researched was tsunamis.
During my research, I found it easy to choose the books for the research
because the books for tsunamis were very clear. I found it difficult to
making the idea a short sentence in my notes because the short sentences I
made did not all make sense.I worked especially hard at finding ideas from
books because I think the ideas in the book is more realistic and reliable.
Compared with my last research task, I found this task is easier because I
know more about how to do a research and know how to make the sentences
a little bit shorter in my notes.The best source of information was the
books the best book is called “TSUNAMI Wave Of Destruction.”If I wrote
my speech again, I would try to put more ideas in it and make the sentence
make more sense.
Delivering My Speech:
I am proud of my documentary because I try my best to remember the
words and in the video I made the most of my speech.I worked especially
hard at practicing my speech. I spent an hour per day to practice the
speech.Next time I deliver a speech I will try to remember every thing in
my speech, and not make any mistakes.
What else?
During this natural forces unit I especially enjoyed the experiments,
because I could try many fun things while I was learning.After this unit, I
will continue to learn about natural forces. So now I do not want to be an
author, like I did in the last UOI. I want to be a scientist like Bill Nye!
