The student enjoyed their weather experiment making a tornado. They learned that clouds form from billions of water droplets combining. For future experiments, they are interested in volcanoes or wildfires.
The student found writing a scientific report on static electricity easiest since they already knew about electrons jumping. Their length investigation report was hardest since their group's data differed. They are proud of their length report for its clear presentation of results. Through writing the reports, they improved at using the scientific method and vocabulary.
For their natural disaster research, the student found it easy to research earthquake causes due to abundant information sources. Learning about earthquake responses was most difficult since they had to combine information from multiple books. They found this research easier than previous

1. Natural Forces Reflection
WildWeather Experiments:
My favorite weather experiment was making a tornado because it was
very amazing that we can make tornadoes by using bottles and water.
Some of the important things I learned about weather were that clouds
form when the billions of water droplets come together. If I did more
experiments, I would like to know more about volcanoes or wild fires.
Scientific Report Writing:
I wrote scientific reports about air pressure, the water cycle, static
electricity and length. The easiest reportfor me to write was about
static electricity because I already knew that static electricity happens
when the electrons jump. The hardest reportfor me to write was the
length investigation because everyone’s recordings in our group were
different. I am proud of my science report on length because my data
were was to understand and I showed my results clearly in a table.
While writing these reports, I became better at writing in a scientific
way (with the right steps) and using scientific words.
Research:
The natural disaster I researched was Earthquakes.
During my research, I found it easy to research about earthquakes
cause because many books had a lot of information about cause. I found
it difficult to find information about response. I worked especially hard
at finding out about how people respond after an earthquake because I
had to find many books to put the information together. Compared with
my last research task, I found this task easier because this is my third
time to do research about something by myself. The best source of
information was a book called “Earthquakes” (Smart Reader). If I wrote
my speech again, I would try to make my speech more entertainingwith
talking between the presenters.
Delivering My Speech:
I am proud of my documentary because our documentary has a lot of
information. I worked especially hard at memorizing my speech because
our group’s speech was harder than other groups. Next time I deliver a
speech I will try to speak even more loudly.
What else?
During this natural forces unit I especially enjoyed editing my
documentary because I could learn about green screen technology.
After this unit, I will continue to read books about natural forces
because they are really interesting to me.
