Narrtive Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of a "Narrative Essay" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies in the intricate balance between expressing personal experiences and crafting a
compelling narrative that engages readers. It demands a unique blend of creativity, introspection,
and the ability to weave a coherent story.
The process begins with selecting a meaningful and personal experience to narrate. This can be a
daunting task, as one must navigate through a myriad of memories to pinpoint an event that not
only holds personal significance but also possesses universal appeal. Once the topic is chosen, the
challenge is to convey the emotions, details, and lessons learned in a way that captivates the
audience.
Crafting a narrative essay involves the delicate art of storytelling. It requires the writer to set the
stage, introduce characters, build tension, and provide resolution. This intricate structure
demands careful attention to pacing, tone, and language. Striking the right balance between
vivid descriptions and concise storytelling can be a tightrope walk, as too much detail may
overwhelm the reader, while too little may leave the narrative feeling incomplete.
Moreover, maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative while infusing personal reflections
adds another layer of complexity. The essay should not only recount events but also offer
insights and lessons learned, fostering a connection between the author and the reader.
Achieving this balance requires a keen understanding of the narrative arc and the ability to reflect
on personal experiences with depth and insight.
Despite the challenges, the process of writing a narrative essay can be immensely rewarding. It
allows for self-discovery, catharsis, and the chance to share a piece of one's life with others. The
essay becomes a unique blend of personal expression and universal themes, creating a narrative
that resonates with a diverse audience.
In conclusion, the difficulty in writing a narrative essay lies in the delicate interplay of personal
storytelling, emotional expression, and universal appeal. The writer must navigate through
memories, craft a compelling narrative, and offer meaningful reflections. However, the rewards
include self-discovery, catharsis, and the ability to connect with readers on a personal level.

Persuasive Essay About National Park
Something about national parks is extremely engaging to me. The National Park
Service, under the U.S. Department of the Interior, created our nation s national
parks. The parks are owned by the federal government and yet were created for the
people. These parks, all places of beauty, were set aside in the name of the
conservation movement of the early 1900 s. National parks represent a deep part
of American History and they hold very deep meaning in my own heart. I could
talk about national parks and the National Park Service for hours to anyone curious
enough to listen. This concept of what national parks represent and what they mean
to me and to all Americans makes me lose all track of time. I m very captivated by
national parks for a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is why national parks captivate me so much. They help me understand and see
with my own eyes how unless I do something worthwhile with my life, the world
won t care about me. Knowing this makes me want to live a life worth living. I
don t mean I want to be famous someday, I simply mean that I want to live a life
that I am proud of. Learning about the national sparks and the National Park
Service teaches me so many things. As far as learning about history of the
National Park Service, I turn to researching and reading. Reading chapters from
John Muir s novel, The Yosemite, helps me see how radical his ideas of
conservation were for his time at the turn of the 19th century. Reading online
journals, online encyclopedias, and works from other supporters of national parks,
such as Gifford Pinchot and Theodore Roosevelt, teach me the history behind the
ideas of national parks. Despite all of my research, however, I believe the best way
to learn more about national parks is to actually go out and view them. Being able
to see, in person, these amazing places, rather than just reading about them, helps me
understand the significance of the parks. The closest national park from my home is
Acadia National Park and it is eight hours away, making it difficult to visit these
places. However, I still believe the trips are very worthwhile. In the summertime, my
family and I try to visit
Veteran Suicide
In the World the frequency of Suicide is high, about 1 every 40 seconds averaging
about one million each year. The top ten countries on the list for highest suicides
from highest to lowest are as follows: Greenland, South Korea, Lithuania, Guyana,
Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Slovenia, Hungary, and Japan with the United Stated
falling at number thirty three on the list (How Many People Commit Suicidea Year).
According to AFSP.org; on average 44,193 Americans die from suicide each year
and for every suicide there are 25 attempts and is also the 10th leading cause of
death each year in the United States; with firearm more likely to be the cause of
death in a suicide than any other form of suicide. These are the rates of every person

By getting a veteran to talk about what they have experienced in the military is
hard because they see and experience things that no human being should every have
to go through. Some of our veterans see and experience things on a deployment that
no one should ever experience, some people have no choice but to put a bullet in a
child s head because they are strapped with a bomb and have to decide whose life
is worth more the child s life or the life of themselves and the fellow military
members. Other people go through hazing of forms that our not seen on the news
ever unless it is so bad that it gets out in the open for the whole world to see, but
otherwise it is not seen but the mental, emotional and sometimes physical scaring
can been seen in a hazing victim. There is a thing that people refer to as PTSD or
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and to meet people who come out of the military
who have not gone through one of those two events who do not suffer from one
form or another of PTSD is rare. PTSD is a side effect from our loved ones see and
experience in the military and to the older generations it is sometime know as
shellshock. If we want our loved ones back who served in the military then we need
to invent a time machine to keep them from joining in the first
A Green Economic Plan For The Environment Essay
With the deterioration of numerous environments around the globe, and the increased
phenomena of anthropogenic climate change, it is evident that changes must take
course and the protection of the environment become a crucial aspect embedded in
social, political, and economic change. With this understanding, many nations across
the globe have adopted a green economic plan that aims to reduce the impact upon the
natural environment, whilst also ensuring economic benefit; however, establishing a
strong green economic plan that targets the reduction of impact upon the environment
can be a financially difficult process, particularly for nations that do not possess the
adequate funding. Considering this, many nations in this position partner up with
other nations so that the necessary funding can be fulfilled. Guyana is a sovereign
state situated in South America that is known to have exceptionally high rates of
deforestationfor the past several years. Considering this, Norway has taken on the
initiative to provide monetary incentives that will fuel Guyana s green economy on
the basis that deforestation rates are reduced. Exploring the GRIF project will provide
a unique outlook on specifically how economic investments can promote a green
economy, and, subsequently, propose a model that presents a scenario in which the
reduction of the global impact upon the natural environment can be achieved.

Las Meninas ValГЎzquez and Picasso Las Meninas is a famous painting created by
Diego ValГЎzquez in 1656 (left). Diego ValГЎzquez s Las Meninas has inspired
artists to make several renditions, admiring it. Pablo Picasso, in particular, has made
over 50 renditions of Las Meninas . Pablo Picasso s rendition shown at the top of the
page (right) is only one of his recreations of Las Meninas , made in 1957 . There
are many similarities and differences between both the original and Pablo Picasso s
rendition of Las Meninas , as well as several reasons why they made the paintings
and what the artists were trying to portray.Diego ValГ
Ўzquez s Las Meninas and
Pablo Picasso s rendition of it are similar in several ways. First, both paintings
share some of the same objects. The princess, infantana margarita, is in the center of
both paintings. Secondly, there is a maid of honor (a royal servant) kneeling to the
left side of the princess in both paintings. Thirdly, both of the paintings also have the
same focus. The focus of the paintings is the princess and her maids of honor. In
Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, the princess and her maids of honor are towards the
front and in the center, and the same is made apparent in Pablo Picasso s rendition.
Finally, you can see the building in which the paintings are taken place in both of
them. It is very obvious in Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, put a little less so in Pablo
Picasso s painting. There is a difference in color from brown to black towards the
bottom of Pablo Picasso s painting. Since the floor in Diego ValГЎzquez s painting is
clearly and brightly shown as brown but the walls are darker, the same is shown in
Pablo Picasso s rendition.Diego ValГЎzquez s Las Meninas and Pablo Picasso s
rendition of it are also different in several ways. Firstly, ValГ
Ўzquez is not shown in
both paintings. In Diego
ValГЎzquez s painting, he painted himself on the left side painting on a canvas.
This is not seen in Pablo Picasso s rendition of the painting, because the only two
people seen are the princess and the maid of honor kneeling next to her. Secondly,
other people are not shown in both of the paintings. In Diego ValГЎzquez s painting,
there are several

they joined with Houston. Seguin was a significant part of the Texan victory at San

and then pursued remnants of the Mexican Army following the battle. After Texas
became a republic, Seguin was named head of the San Antonio military, commanding
a force to defend Texas s western frontier. In 1839, Seguin, captain of a Texas force

The American Looking Jasmine And Aladdin
1. While the film Aladdin is set in a country of Arabic origin, many stereotypes and
racial views are still present. For example, as pointed out by Addison in Saving
Other Women all the other men except for Aladdin have facial hair and darker
skin. This facial hair represents power and sexuality. Aladdin, who represents the
lower social class, is lighter skinned and clean shaven. Aladdin and Jasmine both
have American accents as well. While many women have veiled faces, their bodies
are nowhere near as covered. Jasmine is an example of this as she bares her
stomach throughout the film, even though she is part of the royal family. This act
of veiling was intended to symbolize women s modesty and respectability and it
also represents the idea that men s and women s spheres are different (Abu
Lughod). Perhaps this is why Jasmine is also one of the only females featured
throughout the film. The American looking Jasmine and Aladdin challenge the
Arabian laws and Islamic culture. This, along with the U.S. military efforts in the
Persian Gulf War at the time of the movie s release matched the media s promotion
of straying away from barbaric traditions as an excuse to intervene in the Middle East
(Giroux). This film also misrepresents Arab culture as noted by Shaheen in Aladdin
Animated the Arabic since names are mispronounced and store signs are written in
scribbles. Even the word barbaric in the opening part of the film refers to the child
like speech they speak and also

Discussion and Scientific Explanation
The purpose of this lab was to create soaps and detergents and test their cleaning
ability. We created four different soaps and two detergents using different starting
materials composed of oils and fats for the soaps and lauryl alcohol and sulfuric acid
for the detergents. Soaps are created by a process called saponification, which is the
formation of a salt by combing an acid and a base.1 Soap and detergent are effective
cleaning agents because they have hydrophilic and hydrophobic ends.1 The
hydrophobic ends interact with the dirt and oil while the hydrophilic ends interact
with the water molecules effectively washing the dirt and oil away.2 While soaps
and detergents are very similar in their cleaning ability, they have a major difference
being that soaps are made from natural products and detergents are made from
synthetic materials.3 In order to make the soaps, we used four different starting
materials including lard, shortening, olive oil, and vegetable oil.
Animals Should Not Be Bred
Animals that are born into this can spend most of their lives in cramped cages,
with no room to exercise and play. Often times, the water and food provided for the
puppies is contaminated, crawling with bugs. And most of the time the puppies can
even be malnourished. Puppies in mills are found with bleeding or swollen paws,
feet falling through the wire cages, severe tooth decay, ear infections, dehydration,
and lesions on their eyes, which often lead to blindness. Living this unhealthy life is
abuse in so many ways, most puppy mills have no veterinary cave, climate control,
or protection for the animal from weather. So basically these animals are starving and

Fights average one to two hours, ending when one of the dogs will not or cannot
continue. In addition, the injuries inflicted and sustained by dogs participating in
dog fights are frequently severe even fatal. The American pit bull terrier type dogs
used in the majority of these fights have been specifically bred and trained for
fighting and are unrelenting in their attempts to overcome their opponents. With
their extremely powerful jaws, they are able to inflict severe bruising deep
puncture wounds, and broken bones. The dogs used in these events often die of
blood loss, shock, dehydration, exhaustion, or infection hours or even days after the
fights. Other animals often scarified as well; dogs who are born cold , or won t
fight maybe kept around to sic other dog s on. Also they use cats (in cages) to make
the dogs mean, it not only affects the dog, but it s very cruel to the cat to be put

that there are nine hundred to two thousand new cases every year of animal hoarding
in the United States, with two thousand and fifty thousand animals falling victims.
Another case of animal abuse is animal hoarding, animal hoarding impacts
communities across the United States on a daily basis with approximately three

Essay about My Philosophy of Education
My Philosophy of Education
John Dewy once said that education is a social preparation . . .education is growth .
. . education is not a preparation for life, education is life itself. Dewey s statement
represents the roots of my educational philosophy. I believe that school is a place
where students develop social skills that will equip them for the rest of their lives. I
believe that school is a place where students grow mentally, physically, and
emotionally. I believe that school is not only a major tool in the real world battle
against ignorance and poverty, but it is also place where dreams come true. I hope to
instill creativity, imagination, and fundamental morals that will follow a child

I feel that if this is achieved the student will gain the ability to self motivate for the
sake of learning, and not because it is required. If the student is able to acquire a
lifelong love of learning then, in my opinion, knowledge will not begin and end with
the ringing of a school bell. Learning, rather, will be fueled by continuous curiosity
and a desire to discover.
Upon entering my classroom students will encounter a place of discovery where they
will be encouraged to think and be creative. Reading lessons will incorporate
questions that check for understanding and discussions that encourage students to
voice their opinions. Science will be guided, hands on activities, promoting discovery.
Students will be asked to hypothesize before learning the facts. In doing this, I hope
that I can establish a positive learning environment, moving my students toward
wanting to learn.
In order to create a positive learning environment, my classroom structure will be
guided by the beliefs of progressivism. As I previously mentioned, I will use
extensive hands on and cooperative learning lessons that will allow my students to
enhance their social skills. Understanding will come through their own experiences.
Integration of subjects will play a major role in the way that I convey the curriculum
to my students. Through these types of learning activities, I hope to create the type of
school setting that Dewey

Symbolic Interactionism Theory Of Smoking
Symbolic Interactionism Theory sees interactions and meanings as central to society,
and assumes that meanings are not inherent, but are created through interactions
(Chp. 1 Theory). An example of Symbolic Interactionism Theory is smoking
(informal). Smoking is harmful to your health. A person may associate a meaning
for smoking. They might use smoking for means as a way to meet a new friend.
When two smokers meet, and one offers the other a cigarette, that is a way to
become acquainted with someone. The gesture here is the offer of a cigarette from
one person to another. This gesture is positively sanctioned because the person makes
a new friend. The negative sanction is the harmful effects that a cigarette has on a

This is associated with larger ideology in our society because in our society, it is
considered rude and creepy to stare at people. I believe that this is a norm because
people tend to be more introverted or personal nowadays, and they do not want
others to be nosy. This is most likely a norm in most cultures because it is
considered rude. This norm is often sanctioned negatively when broken because it
is rude to stare at others. I think that race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and
age play a factor as to how people around them respond. Race, gender, sexual
orientation, religion and age also affect the response of the person as well. If a
white person is being targeted by this experiment, then more people would notice
and more people would probably react and ask me what I was doing. If an African
American was being targeted by this experiment, then people would not act as
concerned. EXPERIMENT TIME The experiment was conducted was April 3,

some individuals are ignoring the causes. We have to face reality and admit that it is

Some might argue that the Green House Effect is needed because it allows the
earth to trap greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, which are needed in order for
the earth to stay warm and avoid extremes; however, it has never resulted in year

s just a part of the natural process the has been occurring since the beginning of

Hobby Lobby and the Obama Administration
The issue is over Hobby Lobby vs. the Obama Administration. Hobby Lobby has
taken a stance against ObamaCare s contraception coverage. ObamaCare s
affordable health care act, gives employees who are women access to
contraceptives such as the morning after pill and IUDs, which the plaintiffs of
Hobby Lobby considered to be forms of abortion. The contraceptive coverage in
the new Health Care law makes preventative care more accessible and affordable to
millions of Americans. This is particularly important for women who are more
likely to avoid the cost of contraceptives because of cost. To help address these
barriers in terms of cost and ensure that all women have access to preventative
Health Care Act, all new private insurance plan that covers a wide range of

current problem is that the Affordable Care Act is imposing on the 500 store

coverage of contraceptives of the 13,000 workers as part of its health care plans.

Generally speaking, public crossings are inspected whereas private crossings are
not; they are not under MHI jurisdiction. However, if a private crossing is publicly

is technically a public crossing. However, these undeveloped crossings are not
inspected, as there is no road. However, RPP wished to retain these data points. A
crossing accessibility attribute s purpose is to further distinguish public and
private crossings so an inspector can know prior to visiting the site whether the
grade crossing should be inspected or not. A crossing s accessibility can be
considered normal, publicly used (PU), or undeveloped (UD). GS, normal private,

are inspected. PU public and UD private crossings are not possible combinations. In
the application, these accessibility options will be unable to be selected once a

population growth has been slowing for many decades. In 1950, the population grew
at 1.26 percent. By the year 2000, that rate had dropped to a mere 0.54 percent.
Several factors influenced the decelerating population growth, namely fertility
decline, lower death rates, and more strictly limited immigration. These trends are
very typical of a nation transitioning from the third to the fourth stage of the
Demographic Transition Model. Falling mortality and fertility rates are characteristic
of this stage s transition, which does not allow for much growth. In the Netherlands,
this transition is remarkably recognizable in the data from 1950 to 2000. This
decelerating trend is anticipated to continue into the year 2050, by which point the
population will shrink at an estimated rate of 0.1 percent.
Phillips Plant
Before negotiation, it is important to know what we are negotiating. What I am
negotiating to Phillips plant is to charge part of the expenses of the department in
the plant and part of the final inspection department. The most important issue is
the twelve types of modules that are found to be below the desired quality level,
and the least important issue is the company policy that plants are responsible to
see that products shipped meet stated quality levels. The first issue of the twelve
types of modules being below the desired quality level is connected because it is
linked to other issues such as not measuring up to the standard and may revise

Our preferred settlement for the issue, the twelve types of modules, is to maintain
a 95 percentage or a better quality because it is important for the modules to
maintain 95 percentage when produce. Our opening request for the issue is to use
the sampling methods on inspection because below standards unit are bound to get
through and expense of dealing with the products are normal business expense to
Phillips plant to accept like any other plants. Trading off issues in the bargaining
mix, we are willing to trade the issues with the twelve types of modules with
Phillips plant. The one, who is accountable for the solution, is Crawley plant
because they are causing difficult to Philips plant. Especially when their products
are under 95 percentage below the quality level, they must explain why twelve types
of modules are under 95 percentage and defend their reason to negotiate a better
price or solution to their products. They must report to the Vice President of

they are the one sending the modules to Phillips plant. They need to set up goals

Gender And Simulations
When people becomes who they are, there are many different factors that come into
play. Freud s work starts to notice the identities both genders take when he says, boys,
he suggests, become children while girls remain little women (Chodorow 1794:54).
Chodorow wrote Family Structure and Feminine Personality and Baudrillard wrote
Simulacra and Simulations, which both talks about how individuals from their
identity. The first theorist who looks at society s influences on individuals is
Chodorow. Her theory falls under psychoanalytic theory, which most normal
sociologist do not follow. She looks at how individuals become who they are through
gender. Her work, shows how the two genders grow up and become their own selves.

Unlike men, women stay close to their mothers during development. In Chodorow s
theory, she explains, Feminine identification is based not on fantasied or externally
defined characteristics and negative identification, but on the gradual learning of a
way of being familiar in every life, and exemplified by the person with whom she
has been most involved with (Chodorow 1974: 51). The basis of her theory shows
that a girl cannot completely reject her mother since they identify to the same gender.
While her relationship grows with her father, her relationships with her mother
strengthens. There is no need to break away from anything for them since girls are
expected to be feminine. Since daughters spend time with their mothers so much,
they act like their mothers later in life. Creating this different identity can be
problematic to a daughter s personality since society does not allow the formation of

Pharmaceutical Drug Securitization
Pharmaceutical companies ability to create consumers through production of a
commodity is an impressive technique that capitalists habitually utilize to almost
guarantee profit. Jody Emel and Harvey Neo argue that capitalism inherently relies on
the process of commodification to ensure continual capital flow. They note that
capitalism s unceasing concentration and intensification to increase productivity and
standardization through commodification allows the production of a new drug to
presents itself as natural development. The term intensification, as Julie Guthman
explains it, is precisely the basis of increased...productivity because it involves
improving the productivity of and/or value reaped from a commodity (Emel, et al. 53).

This assumption holds that there simply is not enough, quantity wise, of the drug
for it to be available to everyone. Julie Guthman s response to this is that this deeply
neo Malthusian argument wrongly assumes that scarcity is equivalent to shortage.
She takes a Marxian approach in explaining that scarcity is based on distribution, it
is not based on the quantifiable lack of resources that the term shortage suggests.
Scarcity is socially produced and is intentional in determining to whom access is and
is not available. For Guthman, scarcity is an example of how government policy and
the organization of our economy allows blame to be shifted on the victims. She
argues that it is unproductive and unfair that this is the scope we accept and that we
ought to change how our economy is

The Kilauea Volcano is the youngest volcano on Hawaii s Big Island. Because
when viewed from above it seems tiny in comparison to the neighboring volcano
Mauna Loa, Kilauea was originally believed to simply be a satellite of Mauna Loa
instead of a distinct volcano. Research that has taken place during the last decades,
however, shows that not only is Kilauea a separate volcano, but its magna plumbing
system actually goes over 60 kilometers deep into the earth. The Kilauea Volcano sits
on a curved line made up of other volcanoes such as Kohala and Mauna Kea.
Description
The highest point on the Kilauea Volcano is slightly less than 4,200 feet. In
addition, it has a large caldera at the summit that is 3 kilometers by 5 kilometers
wide at the main depression but is 6 kilometers by 6 kilometers at the outermost
faults and goes down 165 meters deep. The entire area of the volcano is 552 square
meters. The oldest rocks found on the volcano date back 23,000 years and scientists
estimate that the first eruption occurred between 300,000 and 600,000 years ago.
Despite this, about 90% of the basaltic shield volcano found on the surface is made
from lava flows that occurred less than 1000 years ago while 70% of the actual
volcano s surface is 600 years old or younger. The volcano gets its name, Kilauea,
from the Hawaiian word meaning much spreading or spewing, referencing the
frequent lava flows.

Personal Values Beliefs And Values
Personal values, beliefs, and principles are necessary for individuals to know about
themselves. However, when asked the question, what are your personal values,
beliefs, and principles the first responses are often a laundry list of characteristics
with the assumption that the three words are synonymous. From my experience,
when asked this question the list grew longer and I started to wonder what the
differences existed between each of these terms. Recognizing these differences is a
major component of discovering how I make decisions when facing ethical
dilemmas involving directives that may be morally unsound. Hence, I began the
search of how the terms relate, their meaning and what my answer is to this question.
Since I invested time to find the differences in principles, beliefs and values my long
list became more defined. So, the essay will encompass the definitions of the terms,
explain two elements for each category, how they relate to one another and how the
knowledge influences tough decisions. Values
What are values and what makes these different from principles and beliefs? Various
references agree that values are the motivations and behaviors used to determine
priorities of what one sees as important in life and work (MindTools.com, 2017;
Atkins, 2017; Value, n.d.). The definition applied my list of characteristics illustrated

the countries in the Balkan peninsula, especially Greece and Turkey, have historical
significance such as buildings or artwork, and the warm Mediterranean beaches

Ancient Greek Culture And Its Impact On Modern Society
The ancient Greeks, or also called the Hellenes, had a more westernized culture
compared to other surrounding cultures in their time. Much of ancient Greek culture
has influenced our culture today in America. They have influenced modern society
through their religion, architecture, theatre, literature, society, language and sports.
An important aspect of ancient Greececulture was their religion. The ancient Greeks
created Greek Mythology to help convey natural occurrences and changes of nature
because they were not advanced enough to explain why these things happened.1
They created many narratives and myths based on this religion and their gods.
Today we see and use many aspects of their religion in modern culture. Many names
for our planets and constellations come from Greek mythology names. Some cities
in the United States use the names of Greek gods and goddesses. The zodiac signs
used in horoscopes today are based on their mythology.
Ancient Greece architecture, well known for their different types of columns, the
Doric order, the Ionic order, and the Corinthian order.2 The Doric columns appeared
stout, they had smooth and round capitals, and a square abacus that connected the
capitals to the entablature. The Ionic columns had a small base and a double curve at
the top of the stone column.3 The Corinthian columns are the most ornate out of the
three types of columns. This column weighed more than the others and was not used
as often by the Greeks. These columns helped

There stood a land of no happiness where crickets chirp, owls hoot, cries, and
screams were heard. This place was a run down, rough, and dry city which no one

over the roads. The night glared at whoever was outside at anytime. The air always
had a smell of blood in it. Never was there any sun or color. In fact, the city was more
like a slaughterhouse. There were dead bodies in every alley. Scared people all
over the city prayed they would not get killed. People disappearing was quite
common in Frightful Fields. Most of the food here tasted tremendously like a sock.

Morality Of One Spending All Their Time And Money On...
This argumentative essay will discuss the morality of one spending all their time
and money on family and friends, rather than helping others. I will argue that it is
morally correct to spend all your time and money on friends and family because
every individual should be autonomous and govern their own life based on their
values. I will argue this with the fact that as humans, we are rational beings and have
the ability to give value to our beliefs through action. If a person believes that it is of
greater importance to only dedicate their time and money to family and friends, then
they must use their autonomyto act in such a way that affirms these beliefs. It is
morally correct for a person to spend all their time and money on family... Show more

Throughout Hare s writing on utilitarianism, many points can be drawn to say he has
a clear objection to not giving to all, those you know and those you don t know,
equally. Hare says that everyone is equal and therefore we must, show equal
respect and concern for all . (Hare 2009, 87) He says this in conjunction with
Bentham s statement on the equality of all persons, Everybody to count for one,
nobody for more than one (cited in Mill 1861: Ch. 5). (Hare 2009, 87) This is to
say that you should not view any single person as more than another person
regardless of circumstance, in making moral judgments we have to be impartial
between the interests of the people affected by our judgments . (Hare 2009, 87) This
entails that not giving to everyone would be a direct violation of morality in Hare s
eyes. In my argument I will discuss why I believe this point faults and cannot be used
within the parameters of the giving situation I am arguing for.
Continuing in my exposition I will now introduce an objection that Hare raised in his
writing, this is the objection that I will use and expand in my argument. The lack of
recognition for the distinction of every individual person is one of the most common
objections to utilitarianism. (Hare 2009, 88) In Hare s writing he says that this
objection should not be accepted because departing
Cultures And Characteristics Of Cultural Imperialism In...
Cultural Imperialism in Pakistan
Cultural Imperialism is a term which got fame in late 1960s. It is basically about the
cultural characteristics of Imperialism. Imperialism means domination of something.
Generally dominant nations tend to invade other country s culture through media. In
this way they not only manipulate the ideology of targeted country but also changed
their cultural values. If we look deep in history then we came to know that third world
countries are most influenced by this kind of media content. Also these countries
wants to enjoy global culture; so they adopt global culture by itself and thus their own
culture become extinct.
Pakistani society is also a prey of this feature of imperialism. We have a diverse and
varied culture throughout the country. We have our own festivals, dress code, food,
literature; but everything is now changed. This is due to cultural imperialism. Here we
discuss cultural imperialism with the help of its three indicators so can able to locate
roots of this cultural domination in our society.

Cultural Imperialism also has effects on our intellectual. We have same media content
to air as west. There is now no difference between Pakistani drama and Turkish/Indian
dramas. Characters presented in drama have no relation with a common man.
Costumes, set designs, make up, even sound effects are same. Stories are far away
from representing reality. Same is the case with our music industry. Rap culture is
now getting reputation among youth.
Our literature has also been changed. We have now a new kind of genre in
literature which was not appreciated or owned by classic and legend writers; that is
suspense thrillers. We have now Imran series and writers like Ibn e Safi who wrote
about suspense. This is a mere following of west as in their society these kind of
novels are considered best

Budget Proposal From Former Governor Governor Bob
McDonnell
The outgoing Governor Bob McDonnell on December 10, 2013 revealed his two
year budget proposal called the 2014 2016 Biennial Budget and Amendments to the
2013 Appropriation Act. When Mr. McDonnell released his proposal at the Capital in
Richmond he spoke about some key things in regards initiatives that needed to be
taken.
The first thing people noticed about the proposed budget was that it was 96 billion
dollars. He made some increases in some areas while decreasing funding to areas
many people considered unacceptable. This includes cuts to schools; his plan
shaved 48 million off kindergarten programs deemed underutilized. One thing that
was proposed that most people agreed with was an increase to the states
contingency fund. In the budget Governor McDonnell will increase the rainy day
fund to over one billion dollars. However, higher education was a big concern in
the budget as evident because of the almost 200 million boost in the funds
allocated for colleges and universities. The one major factor that stuck in people s
mind the most and was the trigger that ignited support for the piece of legislation
was the fact that Mr. McDonnell did not propose new taxes. In the plan there is a lot
of cutting to programs that are deemed unnecessary and reallocating of funds that
Governor McDonnell feels are very important, for example Medicaid. This program
is what spark new debate in the house and senate about how Medicaid should not be
expanded. This expansion would

The Anti-War and Hippie Movements
From the late 1950s to the late 1970s a phenomenon erupted over the United States. A
proud counter culture was born in the midst of the Vietnam War. Many people
protested against the Vietnam War and the horrors that many people saw on TV
because of it. Many incidents triggered the Anti War movement and the Hippie
counter culture such as the growing United Statesinvolvement in Southern Vietnam,
the gruesome images that the evening news showed uncensored, the draft that
caused many thousands of men to lose their lives and their minds as the end result
of the war. This war triggered a great sense of what is right and wrong in
specifically young people. Social justice and moral justice were some of the main
focal points of the Anti War and Hippie movements. This war allowed teenagers
and young adults to have power in what they believe in and to stand up against
unjust killings of our men and innocent lives in Vietnam. The eighteen year span of
the war from 1956 1975 saw the rise and eventually the fall of the anti war
movement and the hippie movement. The Vietnam War was one of the most hated
wars in United States history, for the primary reasons that we did not win and the
draft destroyed countless men, physically and mentally. The end result of the war
did not justify the means and this made a lot of people very upset. This war was also
the most televised war, showing incredibly gruesome, uncensored images on the
evening news at dinner time. The political protest for the

The history of women involvement in science
Science always fascinated people regardless young or old, male or female. From
the beginning of human development, hundreds of cultures tried their luck with new
inventions and scientific explanations. Every one of those developments was
founded on the drive to explain the surrounding world in an easy way and try to
understand every small part of it. Often it was just luck but sometimes it was the
hard work of years and months of calculation and experiments until they finally
found a new way. Looking back into history important discoveries were made in

But also progress was made especially in societies like Sparta or Egypt. Pay all
possible attention even to the women (Lycurgus, 900 BC) described the view of
the Spartan society on women rights. Women were allowed to run, wrestle or do
javelin as a competitive sport also the attendance in the military service was
possible for women. In the aspect of women rights, Sparta was one of the most
progressive and free society. This progressive lifestyle brought up discussion and
disputes in the neighboring Greek empire. Greatest will be she who is least talked
of among men whether for good or bad (Solon) Women in Greek society were seen
as an appendage of men she had almost no rights and should not speak if she was
not asked. But also, progressive Greek voice made their way into history books.
Nobody else than the famous philosopher Socrates supported a different way for
more women involvement in society. He once said that women should take
responsibility in society and if so they should get the same handling and education as
their male brothers. This was not itself a new idea but in a society that was relying
on their male academic class and was based on tradition and continuity is was
revolutionary. But Greek was not the only society which saw women as a citizen
second class. The Hammarabi, which was the legal codex of the Mesopotamian
empire once stated a girl is a legal property of her father until she is sold to her
husband (Hammurabi, 1750BC). This process of selling the women to her husband
is still partially in use in parts if India and Africa. Women often got less medical
treatment and also less education in comparison to their brothers. This developed
over time to an under educated female society where the chances to escape were
extremely small. But like in every part of live their are exceptions, women like

The Battle Of The Gulf War
ABSTRACT
This paper explores a few articles that report on the results from research conducted
on online (internet) and offline (non internet) in reference to the Gulf War also
known under other names such as The Persian Gulf War, First Gulf War, Gulf War I,
Kuwait War, First Iraq War, or Iraq War. The Articles though similar vary in the
information. Finlan (2003) gives a breakdown the coalition forces, Sadam Husain

The war lasted six months, three weeks and five days. However, Operation Desert
Storm officially ended on 30 November 1995. The war took place in Iraq, Kuwait,
Saudi Arabia and Israel. The initial conflict was to expel Iraqi troops from Kuwait.
This conflict was between Iraq and a Coalition Force of 34 nations, which was
mandated by the United Nations and led by the United States. The forces that made
up the allied coalition force of thirty nine countries. Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia,
Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, France,
Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Kuwait, Morocco, the Netherlands, New
Zealand, Niger, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia,
Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Turkey, the
United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. During this war
in all areas, the weather varied, but slightly during the day and night. It was very
hot in these areas; high winds, low pressure, and winds at times as high as 25 knots
but during the night as low at 10 knots. Sand storms which limited the visibility as
well as haze from the heat, which also limited visibility. There were also some cases
of night fogs. These weather conditions were present in each area of this war. The
weather conditions were not simultaneous, but at some point during the gulf war in
each area of operation. The Gulf

Anthill A paper authored by Montresor (2001) outlines a new approach, aptly
christened Anthill, for designing peer to peer (P2P) applications based on
comparisons to ant colonies. The paper proposes a framework to assist with the
development of fresh protocols for P2P methodologies. The author considers how
there are issues that typically apply to P2P projects such as security and routing for
which conventional algorithm techniques for resolving these issues are deemed
inappropriate. Therefore Anthill is proposed as a framework to support individuals in
the investigation and design of innovative P2P algorithms. The Anthill project was
developed using parallels drawn between P2P systems and colonies of ants. Anthill

This means hosting a file allowing a theoretically limitless number of download
users is less expensive as this technique apportions the cost of upload across these
users. The paper goes on at length to explain how BitTorrent works in detail with
Cohen scrutinising methods to achieve successful yet fair to all, downloads. Cohen
discusses how researchers have previously attempted to find realistic and fair
techniques to do this. One strategy for fair apportioning of effort is to ensure each
peer s download rate is proportional to their upload rate. However there can be
issues with incomplete downloads because some clients may terminate downloading
once they have transferred the file. A discussion of the technical aspects of
BitTorrent and issues is given; this includes algorithms and strategies, to resolve
specific problems. An example cited is choking, which is when peers disallow
downloading from themselves and for which BitTorrent includes choking algorithms
which try to promote parento efficiency in an attempt to resolve this. Cohen
concludes that BitTorrent is now widely deployed but this article does cover many
issues with the fairness of the download effort and incomplete downloading as well
as relating in detail, solutions and algorithms that can resolve these issues. Newscast

Reasons For Attending College Is Not An Easy One
The decision to attend college is not an easy one. If you are willing to choose this
route, then it won t be an easy path. In the end, it will be worth it to hear your name
when you walk across the field to get your diploma. This path will better your life in
the long run depending on whether or not you achieve greatness in college.
You can t start searching for a college unless you take the SAT or the ACT because
every college in America has to have those scores no matter what. To being the
process of starting college, you need to begin the search for what college you want. In
and out of state tuition differ greatly and has a huge impact on where you go to
school. Most people including me are more likely to state in the state where they
reside. Do you want to be in an urban, rural, or suburban area? Do you want to have
a public or private school, and does it have to have a large population of students or
a small population. The choice to attend all girls, all boys, or a co ed school could
be important because all girls school have special features that a co ed school
might not. Schools will also send you information to your house for free with all the
necessary information you will need. Talking to people like your counselor, parents,
or people who specialize in finding the right college for you would really help. They
steered me in the right direction, and I wouldn t be attend college without them.

Baroque Research Paper
Baroque always thought to be an art period through 1600 to 1750 and the Baroque art
was the prevalent artistic style in that period. The art style was originated from Italy
and related to counter reformation. In Baroque period, artists were embraced
elaborate ornamentation, dynamic, spectacular effect, which broke through the calm,
static feeling of classical art since Renaissance art period. Also, it is an art style that
absorbed lots of elements from theater, literature, and music and has a strong
relationship to the religious, which held the dominant position through the whole
period. For the Baroquepaintings, instead of depicting people s lifestyle, most of them
were depicting the Counter Reformation. Figures poses in the paintings are more
precise and more like opera stage poses. Moreover, Baroque paintings always
exaggerated lighting and had intense emotions. During Baroque period, group figures
are one of the most importances for the sculptures and those sculptures focused on the
dynamic movement to convey human s energy. Another important thing is that the
sculptures in this period have multiple ideal viewing angles. Besides the paintings
and sculptures, Baroque style profoundly influenced the architecture at that time. The
architectures mainly focused on the bold of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The strong relationship between the religious and the artworks is a non negligible
part. They are just like the soul of an artwork in that period. All in all, Baroque is a
word that not only limited to a specific era, but also a style of art, which pushed
forward the art history. Painting, sculptures, architects are just small part of the
Baroque art. The soul of it had spread all over the world and permeated to every
aspect of people s daily life at that time era. Even though the upsurge of Baroque art
had already faded, it is still one of the most glorious pages during through the whole

The Play Symbols
Symbolism played a fundamental role in the play as it was commonly used in the
most confronting, emotional points of the play, for example the police visit and the
funeral. Giving such meaning to objects and simple actions urges the audience to
make connections and inferences, encouraging them to contemplate the messages and
issues in the play. Having a similar effect as rhetorical question in literature and
cementing an understanding of the situation, contributing the performances
educational value and providing a further depth and meaning to the play. Costuming
contributed an effective but also overlooked symbol. All actors wore a green and gold
jersey throughout the entire play, even as they played other characters, only ever

The Open Window Short Story
Short Story Essay From a young age, society teaches people to always tell the truth,
as lies can bring themselves, or other people harm. However, experience teaches
people that telling lies is a lot easier than telling the truth, especially when those lies
seem to be insignificant. The short stories, Like the Sun and The Open Window
exemplify situations in which the truthis detrimental to others feelings, and a
situation in which lying is damaging to one s life. Although both telling the truth and
telling lies can be harmful to one s life or feelings to a certain degree, lying causes
more damage than telling the truth. Sekhar from, Like the Sun and Vera from, The

This lie permanently damages his life because he will now be too scared to even
leave his house, since his fear of meeting new people is even greater. Had Vera
been truthful to Framton about her aunt, he would have no reason to leave the
house. This story is just one example of the subversive effects of lying, but it
clearly shows how just one lie can change someone s life for the worst, as Framton
would be getting the crucial treatment he needs if Vera had not lied to him. In all
situations, telling the truth is better than lying, even though it may be more
difficult. For example, many people tell a copious amount of white lies every day,
because it is either easier than telling the truth, or they want to spare other people s
feelings. In Like the Sun , Sekhar is aware of the amount of white lies people tell
every day, and conducts an experiment to evaluate whether or not these white lies
are necessary in everyday life. He challenges himself to go one whole day with only
telling the absolute truth, and does not let anyone know of his plan. He believes that,
Truth...is like the sun...no human being can ever look it straight in the face without
blinking or being dazed. (Narayan 81), meaning that the truth is necessary, but
sometimes hard for people to bear. His day starts off with his wife being mad at him

*Mental Imagery/ Mental Preparation
*Speed Speed is something that may affect performance as Netball is a fast paced
sport, with the majority of players constantly moving around the court. If you are on
the slower side, then it is easier for opposing players to quickly maneuver themselves
around you and have already passed the ball to someone else.
*Physique/ Body Type The ideal body type for Netball is someone in between an
ectomorph and mesomorph. For someone on attack and defence that does not shoot

someone who shoots they would want to be on the longer limbed side and stronger.

My mother used to play Netball when she was younger, it being the only sport that
her and I could bond with. I play Netball with some of my good friends which
influences me to play and train as I enjoy playing with people I know well and can
understand. It is more fun to be around the people you like and are friends with.
*Coaches Coaches are students with high experience.
*Money Money may be an issue as netball is played in a dress with certain bibs or

you would buy certain shoes. Money, not an issue, able to pay for a Netball dress

required to perform a Section 12 103(b)(3) analysis in order to determine whether

impossible for this Court to perform the analysis at this point in the litigation.

Sacagawea Really A Great Help To Lewis And Clark
Expedition
Was Sacagawea really a great help to Lewis and Clark on the expedition? Lewis and
Clark are explorers they were able to make maps of the land they explore.
Sacagawea is a indian and she helped Lewis and Clark to navigate themand on the
expedition. Sacagawea did not get anything out of helping Lewis and Clark on the
expedition. I agree that Sacagaweaplayed an important part in the expedition. First,
Lewis and Clark were chosen to go on a journey to make a map for Jefferson the
president. He wanted the expedition to prepare the way for the extensions of the
American fur trade and to advance geographical knowledge.
It refers to my claim because they would need more help for the rough journey
ahead. Sacagawea became an invaluable member of the expedition. This supports
my claim because Sacagawea helped Lewis and Clark get past obstacles in their

Sacagawea saved many of the expedition s scientific instruments, specimens, and

Scatological Humor In The Movie Jackass
FILM CRITIC Heaven help the unsuspecting families who wander into Adam
Sandler s Eight Crazy Nights expecting a jolly animated holiday funfest. The
holidays aren t very cheerful in Sandlerville, which is why the PG 13 rating mentions
frequent and crude sexual humor. The MPAA doesn t mention it, but there s also a
lot of scatological humor in the film, in keeping with Sandler s inexplicable
fascination with defecation, flatulence and bodily fluids.
If this is not a family film, what is it? Well, the audiences for Jackass may enjoy a
scene where Davey, the hero, slams a sweet little old man into a Port a Potty and
shoves it down a hill. When the geezer emerges at the bottom, he is still alive, but
covered from head to toe with excrement. Then Davey sprays him with a garden
hose, and he freezes solid. Ho, ho. Davey (who looks like and is voiced by
Sandler) is a 33 year old crazy Jewish guy, the film informs us, who is up before the
judge on the latest in a long series of brushes with the law, this time for
drunkenness. The judge is prepared to send him away for a long time, but kindly
little Whitey (also voiced by Sandler) pipes up. Whitey explains that he is the
referee of the local youth basketball league, and he could use an assistant. The judge
releases Davey to Whitey s custody, not explaining why he thinks this drunk and
vandal would be a good role model.
Whitey and his twin sister, Eleanore (Sandler again), take the lad into their home, but

The Judicial System During The United States
Introduction The Judicial system in America has advanced and developed for
hundreds of years, early development of corrections was usually left to the local
Sheriff s and other law enforcement officers. In the 1820 s America developed the
first penitentiary in Pennsylvania with the building of Eastern State Prison. Along
with this prison are the early beginnings of organized correctionsofficers in America.
Through the years, as more prisons and jails were built, the need for better trained,
ethical, and professional individuals were required to staff and maintain positive
control over criminal inmates. Today, corrections officers hold the responsibility for
the custody, control, and safety of correctional inmate s nations wide. The training,
professionalism, and leadership, required for the corrections officerhas advanced over
time, as the challenges for public safety grows.
Training
Initially, individuals who determine early in their life that they possess the dedication
and determination it takes to become a corrections officer face many issues in the
beginning. Life I n corrections begins with training. The first phase is police officer
standards training; for many people this is their first exposure to law enforcement.
All states including the military require corrections officers to obtain POST or
federal law enforcement certifications at certain levels in order to carry out their
duties. Many men and women, who pursue initial law enforcement training,
surprisingly
The Juggler Poem
The poem The juggler describes how the tricks the juggler acts out for the crowd
amaze and intrigue them. In the poem The Juggler by Richard Wilbur, the author
uses imagery, figurative language and tone to describe the juggler as someone who
brings happiness and fun to others.
The use of imagery, figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler
and reveal the speaker s own views about the world.
In the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler s appearance and the
tricks he is accomplishing in his show. Richard says, it takes a sky blue juggler with
five red balls...to shake our gravity up. (lines 6 7). The author describes the juggler
as being the color blue and having 5 red balls during his show. He also that it took
a sky blue juggler... to shake our gravity up. (lines 6 7). By saying this the audience
is able to get an insight into the life of the speaker; we are able to see that not a lot
of things happen in the speaker s life that make the speaker happy. Moreover,
Richard Wilbur shows the reader on of the tricks the juggler is doing. He says, Oh,
on his toe the table is turning, the broom s Balancing up on his nose, and the plate
whirls. On the tip of the broom! (lines 9 21). We can see the juggler as he is
performing his great trick and how the crowd is happy and amazed at his trick when
the author says, Damn, what a show,we cry... ( line 21). Having the crowd cheer at
the juggler completes his trick of the balancing act showed that

Narrtive Essay. Write Esse: Personal narrative essay high school

  • 1. Narrtive Essay Writing an essay on the topic of a "Narrative Essay" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies in the intricate balance between expressing personal experiences and crafting a compelling narrative that engages readers. It demands a unique blend of creativity, introspection, and the ability to weave a coherent story. The process begins with selecting a meaningful and personal experience to narrate. This can be a daunting task, as one must navigate through a myriad of memories to pinpoint an event that not only holds personal significance but also possesses universal appeal. Once the topic is chosen, the challenge is to convey the emotions, details, and lessons learned in a way that captivates the audience. Crafting a narrative essay involves the delicate art of storytelling. It requires the writer to set the stage, introduce characters, build tension, and provide resolution. This intricate structure demands careful attention to pacing, tone, and language. Striking the right balance between vivid descriptions and concise storytelling can be a tightrope walk, as too much detail may overwhelm the reader, while too little may leave the narrative feeling incomplete. Moreover, maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative while infusing personal reflections adds another layer of complexity. The essay should not only recount events but also offer insights and lessons learned, fostering a connection between the author and the reader. Achieving this balance requires a keen understanding of the narrative arc and the ability to reflect on personal experiences with depth and insight. Despite the challenges, the process of writing a narrative essay can be immensely rewarding. It allows for self-discovery, catharsis, and the chance to share a piece of one's life with others. The essay becomes a unique blend of personal expression and universal themes, creating a narrative that resonates with a diverse audience. In conclusion, the difficulty in writing a narrative essay lies in the delicate interplay of personal storytelling, emotional expression, and universal appeal. The writer must navigate through memories, craft a compelling narrative, and offer meaningful reflections. However, the rewards include self-discovery, catharsis, and the ability to connect with readers on a personal level. For those seeking assistance with essays or similar writing tasks, various resources are available. Professional services, such as HelpWriting.net, offer support in crafting essays, providing guidance, and ensuring a polished final product. Narrtive Essay Narrtive Essay
  • 2. Persuasive Essay About National Park Something about national parks is extremely engaging to me. The National Park Service, under the U.S. Department of the Interior, created our nation s national parks. The parks are owned by the federal government and yet were created for the people. These parks, all places of beauty, were set aside in the name of the conservation movement of the early 1900 s. National parks represent a deep part of American History and they hold very deep meaning in my own heart. I could talk about national parks and the National Park Service for hours to anyone curious enough to listen. This concept of what national parks represent and what they mean to me and to all Americans makes me lose all track of time. I m very captivated by national parks for a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is why national parks captivate me so much. They help me understand and see with my own eyes how unless I do something worthwhile with my life, the world won t care about me. Knowing this makes me want to live a life worth living. I don t mean I want to be famous someday, I simply mean that I want to live a life that I am proud of. Learning about the national sparks and the National Park Service teaches me so many things. As far as learning about history of the National Park Service, I turn to researching and reading. Reading chapters from John Muir s novel, The Yosemite, helps me see how radical his ideas of conservation were for his time at the turn of the 19th century. Reading online journals, online encyclopedias, and works from other supporters of national parks, such as Gifford Pinchot and Theodore Roosevelt, teach me the history behind the ideas of national parks. Despite all of my research, however, I believe the best way to learn more about national parks is to actually go out and view them. Being able to see, in person, these amazing places, rather than just reading about them, helps me understand the significance of the parks. The closest national park from my home is Acadia National Park and it is eight hours away, making it difficult to visit these places. However, I still believe the trips are very worthwhile. In the summertime, my family and I try to visit
  • 3. Veteran Suicide In the World the frequency of Suicide is high, about 1 every 40 seconds averaging about one million each year. The top ten countries on the list for highest suicides from highest to lowest are as follows: Greenland, South Korea, Lithuania, Guyana, Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Slovenia, Hungary, and Japan with the United Stated falling at number thirty three on the list (How Many People Commit Suicidea Year). According to AFSP.org; on average 44,193 Americans die from suicide each year and for every suicide there are 25 attempts and is also the 10th leading cause of death each year in the United States; with firearm more likely to be the cause of death in a suicide than any other form of suicide. These are the rates of every person who has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By getting a veteran to talk about what they have experienced in the military is hard because they see and experience things that no human being should every have to go through. Some of our veterans see and experience things on a deployment that no one should ever experience, some people have no choice but to put a bullet in a child s head because they are strapped with a bomb and have to decide whose life is worth more the child s life or the life of themselves and the fellow military members. Other people go through hazing of forms that our not seen on the news ever unless it is so bad that it gets out in the open for the whole world to see, but otherwise it is not seen but the mental, emotional and sometimes physical scaring can been seen in a hazing victim. There is a thing that people refer to as PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and to meet people who come out of the military who have not gone through one of those two events who do not suffer from one form or another of PTSD is rare. PTSD is a side effect from our loved ones see and experience in the military and to the older generations it is sometime know as shellshock. If we want our loved ones back who served in the military then we need to invent a time machine to keep them from joining in the first
  • 4. A Green Economic Plan For The Environment Essay With the deterioration of numerous environments around the globe, and the increased phenomena of anthropogenic climate change, it is evident that changes must take course and the protection of the environment become a crucial aspect embedded in social, political, and economic change. With this understanding, many nations across the globe have adopted a green economic plan that aims to reduce the impact upon the natural environment, whilst also ensuring economic benefit; however, establishing a strong green economic plan that targets the reduction of impact upon the environment can be a financially difficult process, particularly for nations that do not possess the adequate funding. Considering this, many nations in this position partner up with other nations so that the necessary funding can be fulfilled. Guyana is a sovereign state situated in South America that is known to have exceptionally high rates of deforestationfor the past several years. Considering this, Norway has taken on the initiative to provide monetary incentives that will fuel Guyana s green economy on the basis that deforestation rates are reduced. Exploring the GRIF project will provide a unique outlook on specifically how economic investments can promote a green economy, and, subsequently, propose a model that presents a scenario in which the reduction of the global impact upon the natural environment can be achieved. • 5. Comparison Of Pablo Picasso And Las Meninas Page 2 of 3 ZOOM Las Meninas ValГЎzquez and Picasso Las Meninas is a famous painting created by Diego ValГЎzquez in 1656 (left). Diego ValГЎzquez s Las Meninas has inspired artists to make several renditions, admiring it. Pablo Picasso, in particular, has made over 50 renditions of Las Meninas . Pablo Picasso s rendition shown at the top of the page (right) is only one of his recreations of Las Meninas , made in 1957 . There are many similarities and differences between both the original and Pablo Picasso s rendition of Las Meninas , as well as several reasons why they made the paintings and what the artists were trying to portray.Diego ValГ Ўzquez s Las Meninas and Pablo Picasso s rendition of it are similar in several ways. First, both paintings share some of the same objects. The princess, infantana margarita, is in the center of both paintings. Secondly, there is a maid of honor (a royal servant) kneeling to the left side of the princess in both paintings. Thirdly, both of the paintings also have the same focus. The focus of the paintings is the princess and her maids of honor. In Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, the princess and her maids of honor are towards the front and in the center, and the same is made apparent in Pablo Picasso s rendition. Finally, you can see the building in which the paintings are taken place in both of them. It is very obvious in Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, put a little less so in Pablo Picasso s painting. There is a difference in color from brown to black towards the bottom of Pablo Picasso s painting. Since the floor in Diego ValГЎzquez s painting is clearly and brightly shown as brown but the walls are darker, the same is shown in Pablo Picasso s rendition.Diego ValГЎzquez s Las Meninas and Pablo Picasso s rendition of it are also different in several ways. Firstly, ValГ Ўzquez is not shown in both paintings. In Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, he painted himself on the left side painting on a canvas. This is not seen in Pablo Picasso s rendition of the painting, because the only two people seen are the princess and the maid of honor kneeling next to her. Secondly, other people are not shown in both of the paintings. In Diego ValГЎzquez s painting, there are several

  • 8. The American Looking Jasmine And Aladdin 1. While the film Aladdin is set in a country of Arabic origin, many stereotypes and racial views are still present. For example, as pointed out by Addison in Saving Other Women all the other men except for Aladdin have facial hair and darker skin. This facial hair represents power and sexuality. Aladdin, who represents the lower social class, is lighter skinned and clean shaven. Aladdin and Jasmine both have American accents as well. While many women have veiled faces, their bodies are nowhere near as covered. Jasmine is an example of this as she bares her stomach throughout the film, even though she is part of the royal family. This act of veiling was intended to symbolize women s modesty and respectability and it also represents the idea that men s and women s spheres are different (Abu Lughod). Perhaps this is why Jasmine is also one of the only females featured throughout the film. The American looking Jasmine and Aladdin challenge the Arabian laws and Islamic culture. In addition, I have not given aid to another student on this assignment. Discussion and Scientific Explanation The purpose of this lab was to create soaps and detergents and test their cleaning ability. We created four different soaps and two detergents using different starting materials composed of oils and fats for the soaps and lauryl alcohol and sulfuric acid for the detergents. Soaps are created by a process called saponification, which is the formation of a salt by combing an acid and a base.1 Soap and detergent are effective cleaning agents because they have hydrophilic and hydrophobic ends.1 The hydrophobic ends interact with the dirt and oil while the hydrophilic ends interact with the water molecules effectively washing the dirt and oil away.2 While soaps and detergents are very similar in their cleaning ability, they have a major difference being that soaps are made from natural products and detergents are made from synthetic materials.3 In order to make the soaps, we used four different starting materials including lard, shortening, olive oil, and vegetable oil.

I believe that school is a place where students grow mentally, physically, and emotionally. I feel that if this is achieved the student will gain the ability to self motivate for the sake of learning, and not because it is required. If the student is able to acquire a lifelong love of learning then, in my opinion, knowledge will not begin and end with the ringing of a school bell. Learning, rather, will be fueled by continuous curiosity and a desire to discover. Upon entering my classroom students will encounter a place of discovery where they will be encouraged to think and be creative. Reading lessons will incorporate questions that check for understanding and discussions that encourage students to voice their opinions. Science will be guided, hands on activities, promoting discovery. Students will be asked to hypothesize before learning the facts. In doing this, I hope that I can establish a positive learning environment, moving my students toward wanting to learn. In order to create a positive learning environment, my classroom structure will be guided by the beliefs of progressivism. As I previously mentioned, I will use extensive hands on and cooperative learning lessons that will allow my students to enhance their social skills. Understanding will come through their own experiences. Integration of subjects will play a major role in the way that I convey the curriculum to my students. Through these types of learning activities, I hope to create the type of school setting that Dewey

From 1950 to 2000, the Netherlands saw vast changes in population composition, economy, and culture. Such ramifications have taken a drastic toll on the society, and are anticipated to continue into the year 2050. The causes and effects of populationgrowth and change in the Netherlands will be examined in reference to 1950, 2000, and projections into 2050. The Netherlands population growth has been slowing for many decades. In 1950, the population grew at 1.26 percent. By the year 2000, that rate had dropped to a mere 0.54 percent. Several factors influenced the decelerating population growth, namely fertility decline, lower death rates, and more strictly limited immigration. These trends are very typical of a nation transitioning from the third to the fourth stage of the Demographic Transition Model. Falling mortality and fertility rates are characteristic of this stage s transition, which does not allow for much growth. In the Netherlands, this transition is remarkably recognizable in the data from 1950 to 2000. This decelerating trend is anticipated to continue into the year 2050, by which point the population will shrink at an estimated rate of 0.1 percent.

  • 31. Morality Of One Spending All Their Time And Money On... This argumentative essay will discuss the morality of one spending all their time and money on family and friends, rather than helping others. I will argue that it is morally correct to spend all your time and money on friends and family because every individual should be autonomous and govern their own life based on their values. I will argue this with the fact that as humans, we are rational beings and have the ability to give value to our beliefs through action. If a person believes that it is of greater importance to only dedicate their time and money to family and friends, then they must use their autonomyto act in such a way that affirms these beliefs. Throughout Hare s writing on utilitarianism, many points can be drawn to say he has a clear objection to not giving to all, those you know and those you don t know, equally. Hare says that everyone is equal and therefore we must, show equal respect and concern for all . (Hare 2009, 87) He says this in conjunction with Bentham s statement on the equality of all persons, Everybody to count for one, nobody for more than one (cited in Mill 1861: Ch. 5). (Hare 2009, 87) This is to say that you should not view any single person as more than another person regardless of circumstance, in making moral judgments we have to be impartial between the interests of the people affected by our judgments . (Hare 2009, 87) This entails that not giving to everyone would be a direct violation of morality in Hare s eyes. In my argument I will discuss why I believe this point faults and cannot be used within the parameters of the giving situation I am arguing for. Continuing in my exposition I will now introduce an objection that Hare raised in his writing, this is the objection that I will use and expand in my argument. The lack of recognition for the distinction of every individual person is one of the most common objections to utilitarianism. (Hare 2009, 88) In Hare s writing he says that this objection should not be accepted because departing

The first thing people noticed about the proposed budget was that it was 96 billion dollars. He made some increases in some areas while decreasing funding to areas many people considered unacceptable. This includes cuts to schools; his plan shaved 48 million off kindergarten programs deemed underutilized. One thing that was proposed that most people agreed with was an increase to the states contingency fund. In the budget Governor McDonnell will increase the rainy day fund to over one billion dollars. However, higher education was a big concern in the budget as evident because of the almost 200 million boost in the funds allocated for colleges and universities. The one major factor that stuck in people s mind the most and was the trigger that ignited support for the piece of legislation was the fact that Mr. McDonnell did not propose new taxes. Since this requires the Court to perform a retrospective analysis, it is impossible for this Court to perform the analysis at this point in the litigation. 5.However, if the Court was to perform a Section 12 103(b)(3) analysis today, it would find that the Defendant s prima facie case is well supported by police reports, school records, an expert witness report, the Plaintiff s own testimony, the Plaintiff s own admissions, and the Defendant s testimony. Whereas, the Plaintiff s prima facie case is not so well supported. (See ¶¶ 31 through 38 of this document). 6.Additionally, the Plaintiff is seeking $20,000 in attorney fees for discovery, expert witness, and other costs. The holidays aren t very cheerful in Sandlerville, which is why the PG 13 rating mentions frequent and crude sexual humor. The MPAA doesn t mention it, but there s also a lot of scatological humor in the film, in keeping with Sandler s inexplicable fascination with defecation, flatulence and bodily fluids. If this is not a family film, what is it? Well, the audiences for Jackass may enjoy a scene where Davey, the hero, slams a sweet little old man into a Port a Potty and shoves it down a hill. When the geezer emerges at the bottom, he is still alive, but covered from head to toe with excrement. Then Davey sprays him with a garden hose, and he freezes solid. Ho, ho. Davey (who looks like and is voiced by Sandler) is a 33 year old crazy Jewish guy, the film informs us, who is up before the judge on the latest in a long series of brushes with the law, this time for drunkenness. The judge is prepared to send him away for a long time, but kindly little Whitey (also voiced by Sandler) pipes up. Whitey explains that he is the referee of the local youth basketball league, and he could use an assistant. The judge releases Davey to Whitey s custody, not explaining why he thinks this drunk and vandal would be a good role model. Whitey and his twin sister, Eleanore (Sandler again), take the lad into their home, but he remains
