Essay On Cinema
Writing an essay on the topic of cinema can be both an exciting and challenging endeavor. On
one hand, cinema is a vast and multifaceted subject that encompasses a rich history, diverse
genres, and a wide array of influential figures. On the other hand, the sheer breadth of the topic
can make it difficult to narrow down a specific focus and create a coherent and compelling
narrative.
To begin with, researching the history of cinema requires delving into a complex timeline that
spans over a century. From the silent era to the present day, the evolution of filmmaking involves
numerous technological advancements, cultural shifts, and artistic movements. Crafting a
comprehensive overview while also highlighting key milestones can be a daunting task,
demanding meticulous attention to detail and a nuanced understanding of the industry's
dynamics.
Furthermore, analyzing the impact of cinema on society, culture, and individual perspectives
adds another layer of complexity. Cinema is not just a form of entertainment; it serves as a
mirror reflecting societal values, influencing public opinion, and shaping collective
consciousness. Addressing these intricate connections necessitates a nuanced exploration of
themes, messages, and the interplay between film and society.
Discussing specific cinematic genres, styles, and auteurs can be challenging as well. Each genre
has its own set of conventions, and filmmakers often employ unique storytelling techniques.
Analyzing these elements requires a deep understanding of film theory and the ability to
articulate how directors use visual and narrative tools to convey their artistic vision.
Moreover, the essay should go beyond a mere historical or analytical approach and engage with
the broader cultural, philosophical, and even political implications of cinema. Exploring
questions about the power of storytelling, the role of cinema in shaping cultural identities, and its
influence on global perspectives requires critical thinking and the ability to synthesize
information from various sources.
In conclusion, writing an essay on cinema is a formidable task that demands a careful balance
between historical context, analytical insights, and a broader understanding of the cultural
impact of film. It requires a deep appreciation for the art form, a mastery of film theory, and the
ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.

Definition Of Success Essay
For the first time in my life, I disagree with the dictionary. Success is defined as a
favorable result, or the gaining of wealth, position, and other similar things. My
definition of
success is one that is never truly attainable. So, in a way, there exists a super success ,
which
can be defined as one s end goal. In life, one can never truly obtain their greatest
wish, so that
cannot be success; and for me, it is not. Success (in my mind) is achieving your
goals, doing
what you love every day, and being content with your choices in life.
The achievement of things you have set out to do is likely the closest to what most
would
classify as success. This is even a definition that the dictionary could hold (or maybe
even does, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any person can find what they love and do it every day, but not everyone can be
content
with their life choices. I specifically avoided using the word happy instead of content
because
success is not defined as happiness. Can a successful person be sad? Of course they
can!
Anybody can, and everybody is (occasionally). I, for example, am easily stressed, and
because
this am not always the happiest person on the planet. But I am content with all my
choices in life.
I am on the exact path that I would like to be on, and it is my own decisions that
have led me
here. This final point is what makes success so hard to achieve, as many people
cannot make the
right decisions, or have not made the right decisions, and that has pushed him off
their set course
toward their end goal. So far in my life, I feel as though all of the major variables that
I control
have been controlled in such a way so that they allow me to be on the path to the
other two topics
I ve discussed; and that is success.
For one to say that the combination of being content with life choices, doing what you
love and achieving your goals along the way is not success is unimaginable to me.

Pinkie Pie Alternate Ending
So let me get this straight, Applejack said, casting an odd glance at Pinkie Pie, You
knew that singin and stuff was gonna work because ya didn t know it was gonna
work at all?
Pinkie nodded. Yep basically, it didn t make any sense for the song to create anything
just because there was a song so it started to create things.
It was actually quite genius, Twilight added, Choas Magic is a really tricky kind of
power. The whole way one uses it is by not trying to use it at all. I had never even
heard that song before but once I managed to tap into the magic too it just came to
me. Oh, I wish there were more books about it, we could spend years on just chaotic
musical numbers alone!

I just tripped, that s all.
Nuh uh, Pinkie spoke up, examining the place where Rarity had fallen, You were
tripped.
Applejack glanced up at the other Earth Pony from her deep inspection of Rarity s
leg. That s what she just said, sugar.
Pinkie rolled her eyes and fished something out of the fallen leaves that decorated the
forest floor. I mean, someone caused her to fall over on purpose. She triumphantly
recovered a thin, snapped piece of wire and gave it an experimental lick. I really don t
think copper grows naturally in the Everfree.
Let me see that. Twilight s magic flared to life, bathing the trees purple and gently
lifting the wire out of Pinkie s hooves and into her own. The Unicorn turned it over
itself, scrutinizing it closely. It s new, she declared after a couple seconds, not the
wire itself but it definitely hasn t been sitting in the forest for more than a few hours.
How can ya tell? Applejack asked, joining Twilight in peering at the thin metal.
Twilight shrugged. It s not wet. If it was here for too long dew would have collected
on it like everything else.
So someone planted it, Rainbow growled, for
Multicultural Issues In Multicultural Education
Multicultural Issues Raquel mentions she failed the seventh grade; as a result she
was placed in special classes. She also stated she does not see the point of going to
school. Brammer (2004) mentions language barriers is a hindrance among Latin
American while in school. Many Latin Americans are bilingual; however, the will
speak little English outside of the school setting. This causes complications due to
their primary language is Spanish which is spoken by familyand friends (Brammer,
2004). Additionally, Latin American endures a vast amount of peer pressure to do
poorly in school or to drop out. One method to reduce the dropout rate of Latin
Americans is teachers can make reasonable accommodation to their lesson plan to the
address the students needs. Also involving the child s parents in their educations with
the use of interpreters can assist the child to thrive educationally (Amy Buttler,
personal communication, November 7, 2017). It is mentioned that Raquel s family
has strong ethnicity rooted in the Costa Rican lineage. Latin Americans tend to have
strong family ties that rely on the support and strength of each other. Familismo is a
part of their cultural placing high value on the family that extends past the nuclear
family (e.g. grandparents and extended familymembers) (Brammer, 2004). It is
beneficial to be close with one s family; however, Brammer (2004) mentions the
family bonds can lead to sexual exploitation of children by family members. He
Meharry Medical Education Case Study
Meharry Medical College is an appealing option for pursuing my medical education.
When reading Meharry s mission statement, improving the health and health care of
minorities and underserved areas grasped my attention. I have a fiery passion for
serving the Coptic and diverse immigrant community in Nashville, which is
underserved and lacks adequate medical access. It is pivotal for me to attend a
medical schoolthat shares the same mission and vision as I. What makes Meharry an
intriguing option is that I can receive my medical education in Nashville, in the
comforts of home. As a result, I will continue to progressively serve the underserved
community in Nashville throughout my medical education as Meharry sculpts me
into a skilled physician.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As one of the larger immigrant communities in the very diverse Nashville area, many
Copts seek treatment at Meharry. In addition, Meharry is helping the advancement of
the Coptic Christian community in Nashville by admitting many Coptic students to
their medical and dental programs. This is something that is greatly appreciated
because the Coptic community in Nashville, like many other minority and immigrant
groups, suffers from adequate medical access. This shows that Meharry indeed stays
true to its mission and heritage by providing opportunities to people who come from
disadvantaged backgrounds in the medical field. I am fully committed to Meharry s
mission to overcome the healthcare disparities that exist first in the community, and
then regionally and nationally. Attending a medical school that is community focused
and that is service oriented is what makes Meharry a uniquely good fit. If I receive an
interview invite then an acceptance offer, Meharry will be gaining a student that is
unquestionably passionate about medicine, highly motivated and ambitious, and that
will take full advantage of utilizing all of his resources to succeed in medical
How Did The Democritus Make The Atomic Theory
460 BC: Democritus Philosopher
Democritus made the atomic theory widely known, which stated that the universe is
composed of two elements: the atoms and the void in which these atoms exist and
move. (More, 1646)
Democritus came up with the theories:
All materials were made up of many invisible particles called ATOMS.
Atoms are not able to be destroyed.
Atoms are solid but invisible to the human eye
Atoms are homogenous.
Atoms differ in size, shape and mass (zandrice, 2010)
1.Solids are made of small, pointy atoms.
2.Liquids are made of large, round atoms.
3.Oils are made of very fine, small atoms that can easily slip past each other

Rutherford s understanding of the atom was that the protons were clustered together
in the nucleus. The nucleus is then surrounded by empty space occupied by electrons.
(Lucas Wright, 2001)
1897: James Johnson Thomson
Thomson discovered the electron. He used a cathode ray tube (an electron gun) with a
magnet and discovered that the green beam it emitted was made up of negatively
charged particles. Thomson then determined that these negatively charged electrons
needed something positive to balance them out. (Born, 2014)
From his experiments Thomson established that all electrons are identical and that
elements aren t different because of their electrons but because of how many
electrons are present and their formation. (Lucas Wright, 2001)
Thomson did many experiments and found that the mass of one of these electrons
was nearly 2000 times lighter than the element Hydrogen. Thomson then disproved
Dalton in stating that atoms cannot be divided into smaller pieces. (Born,
How Did Socrates Corrupt Youth
Socrates was a wise philosophical man that was in search of the truth about
wisdom. However, his answers of true wisdom and his opinions lead Socrates to be
brought up on charges. Many viewed him as a corrupting influence on other people
accused him of forcing his ideas upon others. Socrates was charged with two charges,
the first one was impiety and the second one was the corrupting of the youth.
Socrates responded to these charges by denying the fact that his wisdom and
philosophical activities had caused no harm to the society he lives in. Socrates
defense against the charge that he does not believe in the gods is honest and
sufficient. Socrates states that the accusers are in the wrong for accusing Socrates

Socrates questions Meletus, one of the men that accused him of corrupting the
youth. During this trial, he says that Meletus only pretends to care and be serious
of things he has never cared about before. Socrates asks him, do you not regard it as
most important how the youth will be the best possible? (24 d), and Meletus does
not respond at first but then says that the judges and the laws are what shapes the
youth to make them better. Socrates defends himself by saying that the only reason
they brought him to trial is because they did not like Socrates ignorance and find him
irritating. Socrates was the only one who cared about teaching the youth because he
understood that they were important and they were the future. For it would be a great
happiness for the young if one alone corrupts them, while the others benefit them. But
in fact, Meletus, you have sufficiently displayed that you never yet gave any thought
to the young. And you are making your own lack of care plainly apparent, since you
have cared nothing about the things for which you bring me in here. (25
Dental Vs Dental Research Paper
Have you lost some or all of your teeth? Are you trying to decide whether getting
dentures or dental implants will work better for you? Here are some of the
advantages of each choice:
Dentures may cost less: With dentures, it s simply a matter of your dentist making a
mold of your gums and then creating dentures that will fit that mold. On the other
hand, dental implants do require surgery. Because of the cost of anesthesia, the
surgery itself and various other associated fees, the cost to have dental implants
added can be higher than your first set of dentures would be.
Dentures don t require surgery: If you still have most, or even some of your teeth,
having dental implants may not be the best option. Your natural teeth may be in the

Henry was engaged to Catherine of Aragon, widow of his older brother Arthur at
age 12 when his brother died. Catherine was 5 years older than Henry was. They

and Catherine became Queen.
At this time Henry wanted a son so badly, an heir to his throne. Catherine had many
children with with Henry. Only one survived and it unfortunately was not a boy. It
was a girl, Princess Mary. She somehow managed to survive the plagues and
sicknesses at that time. Although Henry wanted a son badly and did not get one he
still did not blame Catherine for not giving him any boys.
During the time he was with his 1st wife Catherine he was believed to have been

she kept silent about it. Then he met his second wife. Her name was Anne Boleyn.
She was the daughter of an English diplomat who lived in France and served Henry

was already promised to another woman and his parents would never except him

returned in 1524 or 1525. In 1526 Henry began to pursue her. She refused

individuals with a task to create a mortgage calculator that could be used by any
individual to assess different loans offered by different banks in the United

friendly interface that allowed flexibility to the client such that they could enter
different loan amounts, different interest rates and get different payment plans. The
project was to be completed within a week.
We wanted to construct one using the software package Microsoft Excel because it is

the client entered in the values.

We met up as a group to discuss what we had found by comparing our different
formulas.
I did a program on excel individually that I tested and saw that it worked. I then
compared it with what the others did, made modifications on each of our models as
a group and came up with our best possible model. I researched on different user
interfaces that could be implemented and chose the one we though was the most user
friendly.
I was happy that the first method did not work. The new approach offered me the
chance to understand the entire project and not just parts of it so that in future I
would be able to build it on my own. I was able to complete and present the
calculator to the lecturer with confidence as I knew every aspect that was important
in making it. I learnt the importance of group work rather than purely working
individually because we came together, shared ideas and came up with the best
solution.

Radical Islam
As the world increasingly becomes more interconnected and globalization continues
at an alarming rate, radical Islam is now at the forefront of the global agenda. While
Islamic extremism is not a new concept, and has arguably been around since the
dawn of Islam, it only now has become a truly global affair, engaging every nation in
the world. With the rise of attention on radical Islamalso comes another concept, the
misunderstanding of Islam. Some choose to argue that Islam a religion of peace,
while others, the greater majority, choose to argue it is a religion of violence, but
frankly, neither are the case. The Quran, history, and modern politics all show that

The fact that both of these sides of one religion exists supports the claim that Islam
is not solely a religion of violence, or solely a religion of peace, but instead a religion
of reaction and circumstance. The modern Islamic extremism that dominates news
networks internationally is centered in the Middle East and parts of Africa, which are
places that have experienced economic oppression, social oppression, and are
consistently a victims of Western interference. All of these factors put together
leave Middle Eastern and African Muslims, who in 2010 only formed 36% of the
total Muslim population, with an interpretation of violent circumstances, in which
they feel compelled to respond to with violence. While this may not be the right
course of action, it is justifiable. On the other hand, the large sects of Islam that are
peaceful and non violent tend to be centered in areas that lack the same history and
ongoing oppression that those areas have, such as the 62% of the Muslim
population in the Asian Pacific and 3% in Europe. Whether or not Islam is a religion
of peace or violence is all determined by circumstance and
Technology And Modern Medicine Has Brought Us The...
Abstract The extraordinary expansion of technology and modern medicine has
brought us the development of telemedicine. Telemedicine allows for medical care
without the barriers of geographic location. This has led to increased access and
convenience for patients nationwide. Historically the state government has led the
regulation of medical practice. Despite these advancements state based licensure laws
continue to hinder the potential of telemedicine practice. State based licensure limits
expansion by forcing physicians to seek multiple licensures to provide care to
patients who reside in states where they are not licensed. This system is inadequate to
address the emerging needs of the healthcare system especially with recent changes in
federal and state laws creating a larger demand for care. Reform of medical licensure
laws is desperately needed to ensure that telemedicine is being utilized to its fullest
ability and citizens are receiving the care they need. The time has come to consider
national licensure and standards for all medical providers. Introduction Telemedicine
is defined as the use of medical information exchanged from one site to another via
electronic communications to improve a patient s clinical health status (American
Telemedicine Association, 2012). Telemedicine includes an expanding assortment of
applications and services that take advantage of video, email, smart phone, wireless
tools, and other telecommunication technologies. These types

Headbanger s Roots To those who have not been exposed to other genres besides
mainstream music, I am hoping to give you some insight on a headbanger s roots.
With new metal bands popping up in local cities, it s important to understand the
history behind the genre. Like every other genre, heavy metal can be traced back
to it s roots, to the moment where everything changed and turned into something
that will continue to affect people for years to come. It caused an uproar first in
England, and then spread like wildfire to all four corners of the world. Heavy
metal was a musical revolution that brought together diverse groups of people
while influencing new genres, ideas, and lifestyles worldwide Heavy metal was
created in the late 1960 s. One of the most influential bands in this genre was, and
continues to be, Black Sabbath. This band paved the way for hundreds of subgenres
after their time. Black Sabbath originated in Birmingham, England where Ozzy

named The Polka Tulk Blues Band. Around this time, their town was going through
an economic depression where unemployment was rising and working class factories
were being shut down. Because of their angst, they filled their songs with horror

Characteristics Of Greek Architecture
Greek Architecture:
The Architectures of Greek was produced by the Hellenic group of people who
used to speak Greek as a language. Ancient Greek is very well known for its
architecture of temples and also the architecture of open air theatres. Ancient Greek
architecture is distinguished from other architectural work in terms of its structure
and decoration. The temples mainly were constructed on high grounds, so that
elegance of its proportion can be visible and the effect of light can be seen from all
angles. Greek architecture was all about simplicity and symmetry.
Ancient Greek architecture is divided into three main architectural styles Ionic, Doric

The temples in those days did not function in the same way as today. Temples then
were a storage for the treasures associated with the cult, where the devotees would
leave their offerings such as helmets, weapons and also statues for the god. Public
spaces more gracious and dignified and would have similar architectural properties so
that they could relate to each other.
The architecture of ancient Greece is a composition of posts, which are the vertical
beams and lentils which are the horizontal beams. Originally, for the construction of
the buildings wooden beams were used, but later they were replaced with stone for
stronger structural support. Some of the temples which are still standing were made
with stones.
The entablature is a horizontal structural element which supports the roof and runs
around the entire length of the building. In case of Ionic and Corinthian, the
decoration or sculpting runs in a continues manner throughout. But in Doric it is
divided into two sections Metopes and Triglyphs. Triglyphs are the vertical grooves
and Metopes are the space between each Triglyphs. In the front and rear of each
temple, the entablature supports a triangular structure known as the Pediment. The
pediment is known for the extraordinary decoration on the exterior of the

ASSIGNMENT 1
Directions: Write a well organized ESSAY, explaining expectations of masculinity
and femininity in the Anglo Saxon period and the medieval period. Use the evidence
from Beowulf and The Wife of Bath s Tale to support your answer. (10 points)
The expectations of masculinity in the Anglo Saxon period are that men should be
strong, unemotional, and brave and for the expectation of femininity is that women
should be away from battle and protected by men. For the medieval period, the
expectation of masculinity is that men were expected to overcome and control
women while the expectation of women is to be virgin and subjugated by men.
In the story of Beowulf, after the battle, Beowulf was praised and told as an
honorable story to other people widely which can be considered as the expectations
of people in the Anglo Saxon period. Therefore, the actions, which Beowulf
performed in the poem, are considered as the expectations of masculinity in the
period which are to be strong, unemotional, brave, and honorable. People in Anglo
Saxon expected men to be strong according to the scene that Beowulf defeat Grendel

North American Tortoise Species
NTRODUCTION
Distribution of the four extant North American tortoise species have allopatric
ranges which occur in three distinctive regions (Figure 1) (Bury and Germano,
1994). The extant gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) (Figure 2) species is a
terrestrial reptile native to the southeastern United States and is recognized as an
endangered species. Their burrows provide shelter for more than 350 other animal
groups designating them as a keystone species of longleaf pine forests (Natural
Resources Conservation Service, 2017).
Paleontological evidence was compiled to differentiate between extant species to
generalize the lineage of testudinid turtles. Lamb and Lydeard (1994) describes the
study of molecular phylogeny within the testudinoidea lineage by obtaining blood
and muscles samples to isolate genomic DNA and compare mtDNA sequence
variation. The above mentioned scientists examined distinct assemblages of the four
extant gopher tortoise species: Bolson tortoise (Gopherus flavomarginatus), gopher
tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus), desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii), and the Texas
tortoise (Gopherus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

chance of survival and would be dark in color (Rostal, McCoy, Mushinsky,
Stereotypes In Shrek
Based on the book Shrek, by William Steig, the animated movie Shrek, directed
Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson of DreamWorks (Katzenburg, J., Warner, A.,
Williams, J.H Adamson, A., Jenson, V. 2001), an ogre named Shrek who is given the
title of an outcast by both humans and fairytale creatures. Due to being an Ogre, Shrek
has lived his life alone and isolated in house in a swamp until various fairytale
creatures invade his home. The fairytale creatures have moved themselves into Shrek
s swamp because of Lord Farquaads law. In order to give Shrek and himself what he
wants, Lord Farquaad gives Shrek a deal to get Princess Fionafor him in exchange for
the fairytale to leave. Along with a companion named Donkey, he travels across the

His social disinterest was influenced by various negative confrontations and rumors
from others. An example would be when Shrek barged into the church during Lord
Farquaad and Fiona s wedding ceremony which then led to Lord Farquaad saying,
it s rude enough being alive when no one wants you...(Katzenburg, J., Warner, A.,
Williams, J.H Adamson, A., Jenson, V. Directors, 2001, scene 17). Multiple
negative confrontations can also influence Shrek s low self esteem. As quoted
before where Shrek reenacts what he hears other people say to him once they see
him, which shows how he currently sees himself based on what he hears other say.
Low self esteem is associated with self doubt and social isolation both in which
Shrek expresses (MacCutcheon, M., Gilbertson, T., Houdek, N. W. 2007). The self
doubt part is expressed when Shrek believes that no one could ever understand or give
him affection. Shrek s fears of abandonment could have developed during childhood
and increased as he went into adulthood (Abandonment. n.d.). With others fearing and
putting bounties on Shrek, he may have experienced a traumatic event, such as losing
a parent, during his childhood because of being an ogre. Putting together that others
are afraid of Shrek and may want to hurt him, one could tell that Shrek had these
negative thoughts and encounters for many years. There are a couple
St. Benedict Research Paper
What dear brothers, is more delightful than the voice of the Lord calling to us? ~
Saint Benedict. Benedict was born on March 2, 480 in Norcia, Italy. As a child,
Benedict attended primary school in his hometown. However, he then traveled to
Rome to continue his studies in literature and law. Appalled by Rome s political
issues, Benedict decided to leave the city and reside with a group of priests. In the
ministry, he preformed his first miracle. Benedict restored a broken wheat sifter to its
perfect condition. Astonished by his actions, Benedict set out to dwell in a cave
isolated from society. Consumed by desolation, Benedict s only contact with the
outside world was a fellow monk named Romanus. He bestowed Benedict with basic

Since he was a youth, Benedict tried to spread the catholic faith. St. Benedict is a
great example of patience and perseverance. Even after multiple failed attempts,
Benedict continued his pursuit in spreading God s love. God thanked him by
saving his life on two separate occasions. The first time, a group of monks tried to
kill him because they believed his method of teaching was too strict. They poisoned
the chalice of wine, but when Benedict blessed the cup, it shattered. In the second
attempt of murder the monks poisoned his bread. However, before he could eat it a
raven filched it. Despite the attempted murder, Benedict always managed a way to
battle through the difficulties. Another highly respected trait that Benedict acquired
was his ability to deny the devil. In one incident, satan tested his chastity with the
image of a beautiful woman. To prevent himself from sin, Benedict dived into a
bush of thorns. It is said that the wound on his body healed the wounds on his soul.
In a world of pagans, St. Benedict aspired to free people from satan s evil. He
traveled throughout Europe evangelizing to those who worshiped the devil. This was
a very treacherous risk, but the saint was fearless. In addition to evangelizing, St.
Benedict preformed many miracles. Benedict brought a child back to life. He found
water on an arid hilltop to feed his fellow monks. He gave a student the ability to
walk on water in order to

A middle age man started to walk towards us with his gun pointed at Justin. We could

Jacqueline Kennedy s Influence On Fashion
Jacqueline Kennedy s style certainly left an impact on fashion from day one in the
White House. Even before her entrance, her clothing style was already being
scrutinized (Adler 74). Luckily, she never cared about what others thought about
her appearance. Mrs. Kennedy never intended to influence fashion as much as she
did (Adler 92). After all, her tastes were far beyond the bounds of the continent.
Jacqueline Kennedy s style was described to be French inspired (Flaherty 38). On
inauguration day, she wore a beige wool coat with a sable collar and matching sable
muff designed by American designer Oleg Cassini (Adler 84). Both of their names
instantly became a staple in the fashionworld. Mrs. Kennedy changed the reputation

Analysis Of President John Trump s America First DoesnT...
The world is in a state of anarchy where there is no authority above the states to
control their actions. Realists, who believe individuals are selfish and power
seeking, think the world is a self help system where states view each other as
adversaries. The article America First Doesn t Mean America Alone, written by H.R.
McMaster and Gary D. Cohn, portrays President Donald John Trump as a realist
who views the world as an international arena where states and individuals compete
to enhance security in a balance of power system. Trump s America first policy
practices realism that increases military power and intensifies the United States
control over countries such as paper. In this paper, I will demonstrate how depending
on realism alone is dangerous and problematic for the United States when it comes to
environmentalism such as Paris Accord and trade agreement such as Trans Pacific
Partnership. During one of Trump s speeches in January, the American president
strongly affirmed advocation to the America first foreign policy (Calamur). In other
words, the president is focusing its foreign policy based on its national interest
strengthening America s economic prosperity, standing against inequitable trade
practices, and building strong alliances with economically thriving partners and
national security. To eliminate ISIS and other radical Islamic terror groups, the
Trump Administration is not only cooperating with international partners to engage
in cyberwarfare...and disable propaganda and recruiting , but also rebuilding the
American military ( America First Foreign Policy ). Trump believes that terrorist
groups have been using the internet as their key recruitment tool and thus, his
administration will be cutting off militant propaganda on the internet. Additionally,
the president is trying to reverse the trend of the United States Navy (USN) since the
Navy shrunk from over 500 ships to 275 from 1991 to 2016 ( Beckwith ).
Considering the fact that the United States is militarily strong, the Trump
Administration is acting based on its national interest through involvement in
cyberwarfare and an increase in military power. Aside from increasing the Navy s
power, Trump is also aiming
Travel Agency Supply Chain Essay
Supply Chain in the Travel Industry The travel industry is an industry that is in
constant change. It is the type of industry that must change with the times, including
how it conducts business, how it sells its products and services, and how each link of
their supply chain works and connects with the rest of the chain. While each brick
and mortar location and travel websiteare similar to their counter parts, each one has
a varying supply chain they use in order to get their product and services to the
customer. We will take a look at how a brick and mortar travel agencyuses its supply

provide this service to the customer, the agency would begin by making deals

Their supply chain would begin with those businesses by making deals that they
would use their products when arranging plans for their customers. Their supplies
would include contractual agreements, as well as informational brochures. For
instance, a travel agency would make a deal with certain hotels to try and use them
when reserving rooms for their customers. The hotel would then give the travel
agency a commission off the room as payment. Business to business links would
also come in the form of finding locations to rent for their offices, as well as places
to purchase their office furniture and computer systems. There would be the need for
travel agents for serving the customers, as well as advertising and distribution of
information to potential customers. Hotels, airlines, car rentals, cruise ships, and
cities visitor bureau would all make deals with the agencies in order to have their
information posted within the agencies
Negative Campaigning Toward A Tipping Point
Negative Campaigning Toward a Tipping Point
Opposition research is a key part in modern campaigns, however the increase in
negative campaigning coupled with advancements in research techniques will create
a more hostile election cycle. Negative campaigning has been a method that helped
control those with a lot of outside factors affecting them prior to being elected. The
right campaign ad with fact checked information is an amazing asset to a campaign
team. Media has progressed to a point where they demand live, off the cuff news
twenty four seven from the campaign trail. This makes it hard for the well calculated
responses the political community is used to less desirable. The right conditions have
been meet to allow for an anomaly to take advantage of negative campaigning and
using more media desirable taglines to gain popularity. This popularity comes at a
cost however; the cost is damaging the success of getting the public to be more
involved in politics. Many organizations, politically affiliated and otherwise, have
been created for the purpose of getting the public to vote on election day. These
organizations strive to ensure the average person understands how important it is to
vote for yourself and the community. Unfortunately, negatively campaigning has been
shown to disillusion the public and demotivate them to get involved in the political
process. With the general public getting less involved, the opportunity for the more

Theme Of Symbolism In Things Fall Apart
Symbolism creates a range of associations beyond itself. In novels, it brings out what
is behind the text, and gives you a glimpse of the reality of storyline. A symbol is an
object, action, or event that represents something. Things Fall Apart and The
Poisonwood Bible contain a massive amount of symbols that gives the reader more
realization, background, and what the author s actual intent is for the story. If these
two pieces of literature did not contain any symbolism, the plot of the stories would
be completely different and change the meaning behind the novel. It also influences
the characteristics of certain characters within the novels.

The Eye And Laser Eye Surgery Essay
A Functioning Eye (Emmetropia)
The eye is the organ of sight. It is used in almost everything we do, from playing
sport to reading. A normal and well functioning eye can focus objects and images,
both near and far, perceive depth and adapt to changes in light.
The perception of depth is due to having two separate eyes creating two separate
images, while the ability to adapt to light change is attributed to the iris and the
dilator muscles. However these two aspects of the eye are not involved in laser eye
surgery and will not be discussed in reference. The focusing of objects and images
is very much part of laser eye surgery. In order for a clear visual image to be formed

Refractive surgery is a term for several procedures designed to treat these vision
abnormalities.
Eye Defects
Myopia is the refractive condition where the farthest point of focus is located at a
point near to the observer, and not at infinity. When one is nearsighted, distance
vision is blurred at all times while near vision is often excellent within a certain
range. There are a number of explanations for this optical condition. The eyeball
may be too long, causing the image to be focused short of the retina at the back of
the eye. Or, the focusing lenses of the eye are too strong.
The primary focusing lens is the cornea, the clear window at the very front of your
eye. The internal lens, called the crystalline lens, is adjustable and alters your focus
from distance to near. Sometimes, one of these two lenses may have a radius of
curvature that is too steep. In myopia, it is often the cornea that is too highly curved.
It is this curvature which is altered in laser eye surgery. Shortening the eyeball has
been tried, but it has not been without the potential of serious and permanent damage.
Often in situations where the crystalline lens is forced into an excessive plus power
curvature, myopia can result. This may occur from near vision stress, a

The reason why I chose boxing rather than the other options provided was because
my uncle does boxing. Another reason why I was interested in boxing was to see
how boxing could relate to judo since Sensei described how Professor Leon Jay
was an innovator using judo, boxing, and jujitsu. Boxing techniques are somewhat
similar to judo, especially the pivoting of the body and defenses. I usually hear and
see my uncle shadowbox while practicing his footwork and punches and sometimes
he d teach me a bit here and there. While he was teaching me how to position
myself in a proper stance, how to move, and where to place my arms, I just thought
to myself that this was a difficult sport to master. It was just like the beginning of
judo for me. Every step, position, and body placement are critical to how you
perform during sparring. From what I read and what I hear from my uncle, the
workout is more strenuous. I m not quite sure if I want to put up with a ten pound
ball smacked against my abdominal region for a couple of sets. Although I wouldn t
mind learning boxing for the reasoning of self defense and to improve on my
footwork that may also help with judo. Especially with the shuffling from left to right
mentioned in the book, the movement reminded me of the taikabashi that we
practiced during class. While reading the section of ring strategy and boxing
The Role Of Religion And Sociological Perspective
The Role of Religion in Sociological Perspective Religion is a system of beliefs that
many of us may not understand in detail. However, the intention of this paper is to
describe the role of religion in my personal life, and to briefly explain the
functionalist perspective, the symbolic interactionism perspective, types of religious
groups, and religionin the United States with the sole purpose to understand
religion concepts in a sociological perspective and my personal point of view. The
role of religion in my life does not exist, as I am not a religious person. I believe
that it is not necessary to follow a particular religion/denomination to practice
morality and ethics during our life on earth. I do apply, however (with my own
interpretations) the wisdom of the Bible to my life, especially the Ten
Commandments. I do believe in one Godand I do believe that humans purpose in life
is to take care of God s creation, to follow God s words, and to love and accept
others no matter what background, religion, status, race, or culture. I find the world
and everything in it to work to perfection for me to believe that we were created by
mere coincidence and evolution (concepts that Atheist s faith may be based on).
Therefore, if I have to relate my worldview to a certain denomination, I would accept
that my views are closely related to Theism, which is the belief in the existence of
one perfect, divine being. In order to understand the concepts

He ordered the assassination of presidential candidates and was even rumored to
be behind the 1985 attack on the Supreme Court, carried out by the 19th of April
insurrectionist movement in which several Supreme Court Justices were killed

against the government which he is a part of. Even though he has been against the
government and lashing back at the government pretty much his whole life but
this is the biggest thing he has done to go against them. Although it isn t one
hundred percent sure that he exactly did this, it wouldn t be a surprise because he
was a ruthless person and knew that he could easily get away with this. Just like
the other bombing and the killings he has done. The bombings made him even
more of a villain because he would go that far to bomb something. He does what he
has to do, but when it comes to bombing and killing several of the Supreme Court,
that might be a little too far. But it did show the power that he had and shows how
much of a villain. He can almost compare him to V from V for Vendetta. V would
go around killing people and bombing important government buildings to get his
point across. Maybe even to show his power, minus the smuggling of drugs across
borders of course. But they both wanted to show how they were villains and would

Japanese Gender Inequality
About the women discrimination or gender gap, I think Japan has a longest history
that women were discriminated by men. To improve those gender gap, let s look at
Japan s FACT as a BAD EXAMPLE . They strengthened the thoughts of women
discrimination in historical era of samurai. After that, they didn t accept any
Gentlemen s behavior coming from Western countries, so that it becomes a huge
part of the culture that Japanese men look down on women. In 20 s century, I think
most of Japanese men and even Japanese women thought that husband going out for
work and his wife stay at home, do the house work, and seeing their children is
quite an ordinary thing. This thought is what we call women discrimination and we
have to change it. According to the World Economic Forum s Global Gender Gap
Report in 2012, Japan ranked 101 out of 135 ranked countries. That means there are
100 countries that were determined to have fewer gender based disparities than
Japan. Now, this score is based on four factors: economic participation and
opportunity (which is essentially Japanese women in the workplace), educational
attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. Japan does really well
in educational attainment and health and survival. The scores that hurt Japan the
most are the ones related to women in the work place. It s well known that Japanese
women don t have the same job opportunities as men in Japan. The number one
reason I hear about this is because Japanese women

Defining Fundamental Pattern of Nursing Knowledge
As a nursing professional, several aspects of knowledge are involved in the
application of care. The fundamental pattern of nursing knowledge starts with science
or empirical evidences governed by factual and explicit information and acceptable
knowledge, such as the procedures and guidelines of nursing practice. It is derived
from scientific methodology that supports the intellectual explanation of health and
illness phenomena and the processes involve in the cycle of human life. (Carper,
1978). The second pattern represents the esthetic part of nursing knowledge which is
also known as the art of nursing. The concept that is represented in this pattern is the
expressive nature of delivery of care rather than descriptive and objective in nature.

Most importantly that is where Charlie and Marcus met witch if they never met at
the park there would be no book. Another important setting is the high school. The
high school in this book is where Marcus went and he played football there that is
where have the story takes place. The two main settings in this book impacted the
story a lot and this is how Charlie and Marcus were together and stuck their necks

My Life Of A New Home
My older sister Mandy met her husband Gabe when she was 14 years old. By the
time Mandy was 21, she was married with two children and lived a comfortable
life. In 2010, Gabe was injured at his job and was no longer able to work. Gabe
tried to find odd jobs around the neighborhood to help supplement his disability
income, but in the meantime his relationship with Mandy was falling apart. In
2014, Mandy and Gabe decided to put their house up for sale, and move into a new
home. Mandy and Gabe looked for a new home, but could not agree on one that they
could afford or one that they both liked. Within 4 months, their house sold and
Mandy and her two children (18 and 16) moved in with our mother and Gabe moved
to Philadelphia alone. Little did they know that would be the last time that they would
see Gabe.
Mandy and her children contacted Gabe every day several times a day for weeks,
but never got a response back. Gabe cleaned out everyone s bank accounts and took
all of the profit from the sale of the home. Mandy and her children were left with
maxed out credit cards, no health insurance, two car and insurance payments, 3
storage units that she could not afford, and many unpaid bills. Mandy and Gabe s
oldest son was in his first year of community college, and since Gabe emptied out
his account leaving him no way to pay for a second semester. As the oldest sister in
our family, Mandy was always the strong one, the backbone of our family, however
this situation broke her in
Postpartum Mothers
One of the biggest decisions for a new mom is whether or not she will breast feed
her newborn. This decision will not only impact the mother but it will also have
many great affects on the baby. In the media we only see advertisements about
formula which costs more money and is artificial. Why is it that the most natural
source of food for our baby s does not have the same kind of attention, if not more?
Nurses need to help spread the awareness of the major differences between formula
and breastfeedingto help higher the rates of breastfeeding, The purpose of this paper
is to discuss how nurses can help to promote healthy breastfeeding to postpartum
moms through three main roles which are, providing research that confirms the
benefits of breastfeeding,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mothers who are thinking of breastfeeding may feel that they are being judged
when they feed their baby in public because some people think that it is not
appropriate for mothers to breastfeed in public. According to Yimyam and Hanpa
(2013), In order to promote breastfeeding practices among employed mothers,
workplace interventions must be designed using multiple levels of influence
including employee, employer and workplace. In order for a new mom to feel
comfortable breastfeeding, she needs to feel comfortable everywhere she goes
especially her workplace. The employers should allow the breastfeeding employee
to take breaks when needing to pump and should provide a fridge so they can store
the milk somewhere safe. The workplace should also have somewhere clean and
private for the woman to go to pump her milk. Also if the employer makes it known
to the whole company that they support having breastfeeding zones then all of the
other employees will be more accepting to it. This will allow the breastfeeding
employee to feel more comfortable and will most likely allow her to breastfeed
longer. Changing how the workplace views breastfeeding will help postpartum
mothers to breastfeed longer and promote others to choose

Effects Of Nafta On Mexican Farmers
Effects of NAFTA on Mexican farmers
Introduction
NAFTA refers to a trilateral free trade agreement, which came into force in January
1994. It was concluded between the USA, Mexico and Canada. The main purpose of
the agreement was to eliminate most tariffs on products traded between the three
countries. It was decided that the tariffs would be phased out gradually. The final
phase of the treaty was supposed to be introduced by January 1, 2008 (Yunez Naude
5). As a result of the agreement, tariffs were eliminated in several industries.
Agriculture was in the main focus, together with textiles and automobiles. In addition,
NAFTA developed intellectual property protection regulation, as well as dispute
resolution mechanisms and environmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Effects of NAFTA on Mexico and the USA
The effects of NAFTA on the Mexican economy should be assessed in consideration
with economic cycles in the United States and Mexico s currency fluctuations. The
country s 1995 currency crisis had an impact on Mexico s economic growth and
real wages, same as the 2009 financial crisis. Broadly speaking, NAFTA brought
economic and social benefits to the Mexican economy. However, these benefits
were not equally distributed throughout sectors and country. Due to NAFTA,
business cycles in the three countries became more synchronized, whereas these
economies became more inter connected. The 1995 financial crisis causes a drop
in the GDP. It decreased by 6.2%. However, in the following three years it grew 5%
6% annually, with further drop to 0.2% in 2001. This decrease was associated with
worsened economic conditions in the United States. When the economic situation in
America improved, the Mexico s real GDP started to grow as well. It reached 4% in
2004 and 4.9% in 2007. The 2009 global financial crisis negatively affected the
country s performance.
NAFTA allowed Mexico to enhance development and get close to the US and
Canada. Mexican manufacturers could adopt the US technology and became more
innovative, which had a positive impact on the number and quality of jobs. Due to
NAFTA, Mexico increased FDI, which would be 40% lower without the agreement
(Villarreal 7). Mexico s economic performance was strongly
Summary Of Cotton Mather And The Salem Witch Trials
The author of this particular excerpt was none other than Cotton Mather who lived in
Salem Massachusetts, a small village 20 miles north of Boston.During this time the
accounts and turmoil within the community was at an all time high. The conspiracy
that there were pacts being made with the devil and that witches were a grave threat
, are revealed to us today through the accounts of writers like Cotton Mather s being
notable within the New England Colonies during early colonization. As an educated
Harvard graduate and intelligent man Cotton Mather published hundreds of books to
provide solid evidence as to what led to the Salem Witch Trials and was known as
one of the most influential Puritanministers of his time. Regardless, his involvement
with the Salem witch trials and his peculiar analyses concerning the craft and
actions of Satan gained him a significant number of followers around the 1690 s
when the witch trials occurred. Remarkably, he received support from the judges
and several of the ministers during the time of the trials occurrence due to his
establishment as a well known preacher but also his book Memorable Providences
Mather wrote on his account with the Goodwin children. These children according to
Mather s account were disturbed by the Devil from a bewitchment. (Walker 2001)
The audience this Mather s work was intended for was the New Englander settlers in
Massachusetts in 1693 one year after the witch trials took place. Though his account

Apol 104 Worldview Research Paper
Worldview Paper Becky Luer Liberty University APOL 104 Worldview Paper Part
I What is a worldview? A world view consists of our basic beliefs; how we view life
in general and the assumptions that we make about reality. In its simplest form, a
worldview acts as a pair of glasses. For instance, when we wear sunglasses,
everything that was initially bright colored immediately loses its brightness. This
means that the glasses make us see a shade darker, changing our outlook on things.
That is precisely how a worldview operates. It influences how we view and interpret
reality and because different people have different worldviews, how one person
views and interprets reality might not be the same as another person (Nickel, 2008).

Coming from the point where humans were created in God s image, it follows that
they have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. From the rules of
conduct given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to the Ten Commandments
given to the Israelites, we see that God throughout history has prescribed what is
considered right and what is wrong. Jesus summarized these commandments as
loving God and loving our neighbors in Matthew 22:37 40. Similarly, the fact that
we were created in God s image means that we have an inner ability to know what
is wrong and right conscience (Romans 2:15). The Question of Destiny According
to the Bible, there is life after death. When people die, the body becomes separated
from the spirit and the soul. It is the body that remains on earth while the spirit goes
back to God (John 11:25). Here, depending on your deeds on earth, the spirit may be
accepted into Gods kingdom (heaven) or it may be subjected to punishment through
hellfire (Matthew 10:28). (625 words) Part

The Influence of Saturday Night Live
On August 29th, 2008 Senator John McCain announced his decision of electing
Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential Candidate. This declaration provoked
controversy amongst many of the United States citizens and while the majority of
the people supported McCain, there were still a select few of both the republican
and democratic parties that were bewildered by his decision. They view Sarah Palin
as ignorant and someone who could not play any significant part in running the
United States government, and their scrutiny of her soon reached the public via
television. Although entwined with humor, the Saturday Night Livevice Presidential
debate clip is an example of the doubts society has on Palin s ... Show more content

Many Americans come home from an exhausting day at work and want to take a
break from it all and they may prefer to watch something that will make them laugh
rather than make them think. Although these spoofs on the election have truth to
them, when something is turned into humor it attracts more people and these
negative characteristics of the candidates are more top of mind.
As today s population continues to grow, each day the number of potential voters
grows with it. The number of young voters is considered one of today s most
important topics of society. Having the ability to swing the decision of the young,
newly registering voters could make or break a shot at the presidency of the United
States. There are countless organizations and associations devoted to raising the
number of young registered voters. With this negative comedic attitude towards
Governor Palin the way these Americans votes are swayed could have a great impact
on the election, especially considering the many adults and young adults that are
tuning into Saturday Night Live. Many of the young and undecided voters who are
making up the audience of Saturday Night Live are not also tuned into the campaign.
Lauren Feldman, a professor from American University, tells a reporter that, The
power of late night comedy to influence voters really lies among those voters who are
currently undecided and are
The Importance Of Personal Freedom In John Wyndham s
The...
A society with incredibly strict religious beliefs will always put unto its citizens
undue restrictions on personal freedom, that will in the end, undoubtedly, lead to a
stagnant society, enmeshed in despondency and hopelessness. In John Wyndham s
The Chrysalids, those who do not strictly follow Waknuk s religious beliefs are
ostracized from society and have their personal freedoms restricted. This is expressed
in every single aspect of Waknukian society from the conflicts they have with others,
right down to the way they breathe, think, and look. Those restrictions manifest
themselves in many ways, from fines and jail time to exile, sterilization, and even
death. Thus, restrictions on personal freedoms resulting from prescribing to strict
religious beliefs, are so pervasive in John Wyndhams The Chrysalidsthat the idea can
be shown in a multitude of ways including character development, foreshadowing,
and conflict. The character development of Sally, Katherine, and Petra shows how
their freedom to live normal lives has been taken away by the Waknukians in order to
strictly adhere to their religion. Firstly, because of Waknuk s religious beliefs,
Katherine and Sally s characters have developed from that of strong independent
young women to broken down and dead shells. As Wyndham writes, ...Katherine s
been unconscious so long we re wondering if she s dead... we think... something
queer must have happened to her [Sally s] mind... very weak, not sensible at all...

General Conception Of Prejudice And Prejudice
The presence of stereotypes and prejudices existed from a long time ago along with
the human history partially often deeply integrated with religion or social status. In
21st century, people are facing with many different stereotypes and prejudices either
directly or indirectly. Stereotype is a generalized belief or assumption towards some
specific groups or people by the defined attributes or characteristics. Stereotyping can
foster prejudiceand shape people s point of views and behaviors of ourselves and
others. People measure the implicit and explicit prejudices such as linguistic bias
or the income inequality. Some theories with respect to researching this long
lasting phenomenon have been raised their awareness of the difference between
the traditional prejudice and the contemporary prejudice. To put it differently, the
transition of empirical theories of prejudice has been evolved from the blatant and
overt form to the subtle and symbolic form. One of the biggest traits of the modern
prejudice is hard to catch or notice so that even the prejudice holders are not aware
of what they are performing. In this essay, I am going to address the general
conception of prejudice using social categorization theory and dive in more details
about specific types of prejudice as the essay goes further.
In general, people interact or communicate with each other in many ways. They use a
mixture of verbal and nonverbal methods to deliver their messages accurately and
effectively.

Essay On Cinema

  • 1. Essay On Cinema Writing an essay on the topic of cinema can be both an exciting and challenging endeavor. On one hand, cinema is a vast and multifaceted subject that encompasses a rich history, diverse genres, and a wide array of influential figures. On the other hand, the sheer breadth of the topic can make it difficult to narrow down a specific focus and create a coherent and compelling narrative. To begin with, researching the history of cinema requires delving into a complex timeline that spans over a century. From the silent era to the present day, the evolution of filmmaking involves numerous technological advancements, cultural shifts, and artistic movements. Crafting a comprehensive overview while also highlighting key milestones can be a daunting task, demanding meticulous attention to detail and a nuanced understanding of the industry's dynamics. Furthermore, analyzing the impact of cinema on society, culture, and individual perspectives adds another layer of complexity. Cinema is not just a form of entertainment; it serves as a mirror reflecting societal values, influencing public opinion, and shaping collective consciousness. Addressing these intricate connections necessitates a nuanced exploration of themes, messages, and the interplay between film and society. Discussing specific cinematic genres, styles, and auteurs can be challenging as well. Each genre has its own set of conventions, and filmmakers often employ unique storytelling techniques. Analyzing these elements requires a deep understanding of film theory and the ability to articulate how directors use visual and narrative tools to convey their artistic vision. Moreover, the essay should go beyond a mere historical or analytical approach and engage with the broader cultural, philosophical, and even political implications of cinema. Exploring questions about the power of storytelling, the role of cinema in shaping cultural identities, and its influence on global perspectives requires critical thinking and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. In conclusion, writing an essay on cinema is a formidable task that demands a careful balance between historical context, analytical insights, and a broader understanding of the cultural impact of film. It requires a deep appreciation for the art form, a mastery of film theory, and the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner. • 2. Definition Of Success Essay For the first time in my life, I disagree with the dictionary. Success is defined as a favorable result, or the gaining of wealth, position, and other similar things. My definition of success is one that is never truly attainable. So, in a way, there exists a super success , which can be defined as one s end goal. In life, one can never truly obtain their greatest wish, so that cannot be success; and for me, it is not. Success (in my mind) is achieving your goals, doing what you love every day, and being content with your choices in life. The achievement of things you have set out to do is likely the closest to what most would classify as success. This is even a definition that the dictionary could hold (or maybe even does, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any person can find what they love and do it every day, but not everyone can be content with their life choices. I specifically avoided using the word happy instead of content because success is not defined as happiness. Can a successful person be sad? Of course they can! Anybody can, and everybody is (occasionally). I, for example, am easily stressed, and because this am not always the happiest person on the planet. But I am content with all my choices in life. I am on the exact path that I would like to be on, and it is my own decisions that have led me here. This final point is what makes success so hard to achieve, as many people cannot make the right decisions, or have not made the right decisions, and that has pushed him off their set course

So far in my life, I feel as though all of the major variables that I control have been controlled in such a way so that they allow me to be on the path to the other two topics I ve discussed; and that is success. For one to say that the combination of being content with life choices, doing what you love and achieving your goals along the way is not success is unimaginable to me. So, for

Pinkie Pie Alternate Ending So let me get this straight, Applejack said, casting an odd glance at Pinkie Pie, You knew that singin and stuff was gonna work because ya didn t know it was gonna work at all? Pinkie nodded. Yep basically, it didn t make any sense for the song to create anything just because there was a song so it started to create things. It was actually quite genius, Twilight added, Choas Magic is a really tricky kind of power. The whole way one uses it is by not trying to use it at all. I had never even heard that song before but once I managed to tap into the magic too it just came to me. Oh, I wish there were more books about it, we could spend years on just chaotic musical numbers alone! Applejack s nose scrunched up and her eyebrows lowered. ... Applejack glanced up at the other Earth Pony from her deep inspection of Rarity s leg. That s what she just said, sugar. Pinkie rolled her eyes and fished something out of the fallen leaves that decorated the forest floor. I mean, someone caused her to fall over on purpose. She triumphantly recovered a thin, snapped piece of wire and gave it an experimental lick. I really don t think copper grows naturally in the Everfree. Let me see that. Twilight s magic flared to life, bathing the trees purple and gently lifting the wire out of Pinkie s hooves and into her own. The Unicorn turned it over itself, scrutinizing it closely. It s new, she declared after a couple seconds, not the wire itself but it definitely hasn t been sitting in the forest for more than a few hours. How can ya tell? Applejack asked, joining Twilight in peering at the thin metal. Twilight shrugged. It s not wet. If it was here for too long dew would have collected on it like everything else. So someone planted it, Rainbow growled, for

She also stated she does not see the point of going to school. Brammer (2004) mentions language barriers is a hindrance among Latin American while in school. Many Latin Americans are bilingual; however, the will speak little English outside of the school setting. This causes complications due to their primary language is Spanish which is spoken by familyand friends (Brammer, 2004). Additionally, Latin American endures a vast amount of peer pressure to do poorly in school or to drop out. One method to reduce the dropout rate of Latin Americans is teachers can make reasonable accommodation to their lesson plan to the address the students needs. Also involving the child s parents in their educations with the use of interpreters can assist the child to thrive educationally (Amy Buttler, personal communication, November 7, 2017). It is mentioned that Raquel s family has strong ethnicity rooted in the Costa Rican lineage. Latin Americans tend to have strong family ties that rely on the support and strength of each other. Familismo is a part of their cultural placing high value on the family that extends past the nuclear family (e.g. grandparents and extended familymembers) (Brammer, 2004). It is beneficial to be close with one s family; however, Brammer (2004) mentions the family bonds can lead to sexual exploitation of children by family members. He

When reading Meharry s mission statement, improving the health and health care of minorities and underserved areas grasped my attention. I have a fiery passion for serving the Coptic and diverse immigrant community in Nashville, which is underserved and lacks adequate medical access. It is pivotal for me to attend a medical schoolthat shares the same mission and vision as I. What makes Meharry an intriguing option is that I can receive my medical education in Nashville, in the comforts of home. In addition, Meharry is helping the advancement of the Coptic Christian community in Nashville by admitting many Coptic students to their medical and dental programs. This is something that is greatly appreciated because the Coptic community in Nashville, like many other minority and immigrant groups, suffers from adequate medical access. This shows that Meharry indeed stays true to its mission and heritage by providing opportunities to people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds in the medical field. I am fully committed to Meharry s mission to overcome the healthcare disparities that exist first in the community, and then regionally and nationally. Attending a medical school that is community focused and that is service oriented is what makes Meharry a uniquely good fit. If I receive an interview invite then an acceptance offer, Meharry will be gaining a student that is unquestionably passionate about medicine, highly motivated and ambitious, and that will take full advantage of utilizing all of his resources to succeed in medical

How Did The Democritus Make The Atomic Theory 460 BC: Democritus Philosopher Democritus made the atomic theory widely known, which stated that the universe is composed of two elements: the atoms and the void in which these atoms exist and move. (More, 1646) Democritus came up with the theories: All materials were made up of many invisible particles called ATOMS. Atoms are not able to be destroyed. Atoms are solid but invisible to the human eye Atoms are homogenous. He used a cathode ray tube (an electron gun) with a magnet and discovered that the green beam it emitted was made up of negatively charged particles. Thomson then determined that these negatively charged electrons needed something positive to balance them out. (Lucas Wright, 2001) Thomson did many experiments and found that the mass of one of these electrons was nearly 2000 times lighter than the element Hydrogen. Thomson then disproved Dalton in stating that atoms cannot be divided into smaller pieces. (Born,

Socrates was charged with two charges, the first one was impiety and the second one was the corrupting of the youth. Socrates responded to these charges by denying the fact that his wisdom and philosophical activities had caused no harm to the society he lives in. (24 d), and Meletus does not respond at first but then says that the judges and the laws are what shapes the youth to make them better. Socrates defends himself by saying that the only reason they brought him to trial is because they did not like Socrates ignorance and find him irritating. Socrates was the only one who cared about teaching the youth because he understood that they were important and they were the future. For it would be a great happiness for the young if one alone corrupts them, while the others benefit them. And you are making your own lack of care plainly apparent, since you have cared nothing about the things for which you bring me in here. (25

  • 15. Technology And Modern Medicine Has Brought Us The... Abstract The extraordinary expansion of technology and modern medicine has brought us the development of telemedicine. Telemedicine allows for medical care without the barriers of geographic location. This has led to increased access and convenience for patients nationwide. Historically the state government has led the regulation of medical practice. Despite these advancements state based licensure laws continue to hinder the potential of telemedicine practice. State based licensure limits expansion by forcing physicians to seek multiple licensures to provide care to patients who reside in states where they are not licensed. This system is inadequate to address the emerging needs of the healthcare system especially with recent changes in federal and state laws creating a larger demand for care. Reform of medical licensure laws is desperately needed to ensure that telemedicine is being utilized to its fullest ability and citizens are receiving the care they need. The time has come to consider national licensure and standards for all medical providers. Introduction Telemedicine is defined as the use of medical information exchanged from one site to another via electronic communications to improve a patient s clinical health status (American Telemedicine Association, 2012). Telemedicine includes an expanding assortment of applications and services that take advantage of video, email, smart phone, wireless tools, and other telecommunication technologies. These types

For the medieval period, the expectation of masculinity is that men were expected to overcome and control women while the expectation of women is to be virgin and subjugated by men. In the story of Beowulf, after the battle, Beowulf was praised and told as an honorable story to other people widely which can be considered as the expectations of people in the Anglo Saxon period. Therefore, the actions, which Beowulf performed in the poem, are considered as the expectations of masculinity in the period which are to be strong, unemotional, brave, and honorable. North American Tortoise Species NTRODUCTION Distribution of the four extant North American tortoise species have allopatric ranges which occur in three distinctive regions (Figure 1) (Bury and Germano, 1994). The extant gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) (Figure 2) species is a terrestrial reptile native to the southeastern United States and is recognized as an endangered species. Their burrows provide shelter for more than 350 other animal groups designating them as a keystone species of longleaf pine forests (Natural Resources Conservation Service, 2017). Paleontological evidence was compiled to differentiate between extant species to generalize the lineage of testudinid turtles. Lamb and Lydeard (1994) describes the study of molecular phylogeny within the testudinoidea lineage by obtaining blood and muscles samples to isolate genomic DNA and compare mtDNA sequence variation. As quoted before where Shrek reenacts what he hears other people say to him once they see him, which shows how he currently sees himself based on what he hears other say. Low self esteem is associated with self doubt and social isolation both in which Shrek expresses (MacCutcheon, M., Gilbertson, T., Houdek, N. W. 2007). The self doubt part is expressed when Shrek believes that no one could ever understand or give him affection. Shrek s fears of abandonment could have developed during childhood and increased as he went into adulthood (Abandonment. n.d.). With others fearing and putting bounties on Shrek, he may have experienced a traumatic event, such as losing a parent, during his childhood because of being an ogre. Putting together that others are afraid of Shrek and may want to hurt him, one could tell that Shrek had these negative thoughts and encounters for many years. There are a couple

It is said that the wound on his body healed the wounds on his soul. In a world of pagans, St. Benedict aspired to free people from satan s evil. He traveled throughout Europe evangelizing to those who worshiped the devil. This was a very treacherous risk, but the saint was fearless. In addition to evangelizing, St. Benedict preformed many miracles. Benedict brought a child back to life. He found water on an arid hilltop to feed his fellow monks. Realists, who believe individuals are selfish and power seeking, think the world is a self help system where states view each other as adversaries. The article America First Doesn t Mean America Alone, written by H.R. McMaster and Gary D. Cohn, portrays President Donald John Trump as a realist who views the world as an international arena where states and individuals compete to enhance security in a balance of power system. Trump s America first policy practices realism that increases military power and intensifies the United States control over countries such as paper. In this paper, I will demonstrate how depending on realism alone is dangerous and problematic for the United States when it comes to environmentalism such as Paris Accord and trade agreement such as Trans Pacific Partnership. During one of Trump s speeches in January, the American president strongly affirmed advocation to the America first foreign policy (Calamur). In other words, the president is focusing its foreign policy based on its national interest strengthening America s economic prosperity, standing against inequitable trade practices, and building strong alliances with economically thriving partners and national security. To eliminate ISIS and other radical Islamic terror groups, the Trump Administration is not only cooperating with international partners to engage in cyberwarfare...and disable propaganda and recruiting , but also rebuilding the American military ( America First Foreign Policy ). Trump believes that terrorist groups have been using the internet as their key recruitment tool and thus, his administration will be cutting off militant propaganda on the internet. Additionally, the president is trying to reverse the trend of the United States Navy (USN) since the Navy shrunk from over 500 ships to 275 from 1991 to 2016 ( Beckwith ). Considering the fact that the United States is militarily strong, the Trump Administration is acting based on its national interest through involvement in cyberwarfare and an increase in military power. Aside from increasing the Navy s power, Trump is also aiming

The perception of depth is due to having two separate eyes creating two separate images, while the ability to adapt to light change is attributed to the iris and the dilator muscles. Eye Defects Myopia is the refractive condition where the farthest point of focus is located at a point near to the observer, and not at infinity. When one is nearsighted, distance vision is blurred at all times while near vision is often excellent within a certain range. There are a number of explanations for this optical condition. The eyeball may be too long, causing the image to be focused short of the retina at the back of the eye. Or, the focusing lenses of the eye are too strong. The primary focusing lens is the cornea, the clear window at the very front of your eye. The internal lens, called the crystalline lens, is adjustable and alters your focus from distance to near. Sometimes, one of these two lenses may have a radius of curvature that is too steep. In myopia, it is often the cornea that is too highly curved. It is this curvature which is altered in laser eye surgery. Shortening the eyeball has been tried, but it has not been without the potential of serious and permanent damage. Often in situations where the crystalline lens is forced into an excessive plus power curvature, myopia can result. This may occur from near vision stress, a

In 20 s century, I think most of Japanese men and even Japanese women thought that husband going out for work and his wife stay at home, do the house work, and seeing their children is quite an ordinary thing. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mothers who are thinking of breastfeeding may feel that they are being judged when they feed their baby in public because some people think that it is not appropriate for mothers to breastfeed in public. According to Yimyam and Hanpa (2013), In order to promote breastfeeding practices among employed mothers, workplace interventions must be designed using multiple levels of influence including employee, employer and workplace. In order for a new mom to feel comfortable breastfeeding, she needs to feel comfortable everywhere she goes especially her workplace. The employers should allow the breastfeeding employee to take breaks when needing to pump and should provide a fridge so they can store the milk somewhere safe. The workplace should also have somewhere clean and private for the woman to go to pump her milk. Also if the employer makes it known to the whole company that they support having breastfeeding zones then all of the other employees will be more accepting to it. This will allow the breastfeeding employee to feel more comfortable and will most likely allow her to breastfeed longer. Changing how the workplace views breastfeeding will help postpartum mothers to breastfeed longer and promote others to choose

It was decided that the tariffs would be phased out gradually. The final phase of the treaty was supposed to be introduced by January 1, 2008 (Yunez Naude 5). Effects of NAFTA on Mexico and the USA The effects of NAFTA on the Mexican economy should be assessed in consideration with economic cycles in the United States and Mexico s currency fluctuations. The country s 1995 currency crisis had an impact on Mexico s economic growth and real wages, same as the 2009 financial crisis. Broadly speaking, NAFTA brought economic and social benefits to the Mexican economy. However, these benefits were not equally distributed throughout sectors and country. Due to NAFTA, business cycles in the three countries became more synchronized, whereas these economies became more inter connected. The 1995 financial crisis causes a drop in the GDP. It decreased by 6.2%. However, in the following three years it grew 5% 6% annually, with further drop to 0.2% in 2001. This decrease was associated with worsened economic conditions in the United States. When the economic situation in America improved, the Mexico s real GDP started to grow as well. It reached 4% in 2004 and 4.9% in 2007. The 2009 global financial crisis negatively affected the country s performance. NAFTA allowed Mexico to enhance development and get close to the US and Canada. Mexican manufacturers could adopt the US technology and became more innovative, which had a positive impact on the number and quality of jobs. Due to NAFTA, Mexico increased FDI, which would be 40% lower without the agreement (Villarreal 7). Mexico s economic performance was strongly

As an educated Harvard graduate and intelligent man Cotton Mather published hundreds of books to provide solid evidence as to what led to the Salem Witch Trials and was known as one of the most influential Puritanministers of his time. Regardless, his involvement with the Salem witch trials and his peculiar analyses concerning the craft and actions of Satan gained him a significant number of followers around the 1690 s when the witch trials occurred. Remarkably, he received support from the judges and several of the ministers during the time of the trials occurrence due to his establishment as a well known preacher but also his book Memorable Providences Mather wrote on his account with the Goodwin children. These children according to Mather s account were disturbed by the Devil from a bewitchment. A world view consists of our basic beliefs; how we view life in general and the assumptions that we make about reality. In its simplest form, a worldview acts as a pair of glasses. For instance, when we wear sunglasses, everything that was initially bright colored immediately loses its brightness. This means that the glasses make us see a shade darker, changing our outlook on things. That is precisely how a worldview operates. It influences how we view and interpret reality and because different people have different worldviews, how one person views and interprets reality might not be the same as another person (Nickel, 2008). From the rules of conduct given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to the Ten Commandments given to the Israelites, we see that God throughout history has prescribed what is considered right and what is wrong. Jesus summarized these commandments as loving God and loving our neighbors in Matthew 22:37 40. Similarly, the fact that we were created in God s image means that we have an inner ability to know what is wrong and right conscience (Romans 2:15). The Question of Destiny According to the Bible, there is life after death. When people die, the body becomes separated from the spirit and the soul. It is the body that remains on earth while the spirit goes back to God (John 11:25). Here, depending on your deeds on earth, the spirit may be accepted into Gods kingdom (heaven) or it may be subjected to punishment through hellfire (Matthew 10:28). (625 words) Part

  • 47. The Importance Of Personal Freedom In John Wyndham s The... A society with incredibly strict religious beliefs will always put unto its citizens undue restrictions on personal freedom, that will in the end, undoubtedly, lead to a stagnant society, enmeshed in despondency and hopelessness. In John Wyndham s The Chrysalids, those who do not strictly follow Waknuk s religious beliefs are ostracized from society and have their personal freedoms restricted. This is expressed in every single aspect of Waknukian society from the conflicts they have with others, right down to the way they breathe, think, and look. Those restrictions manifest themselves in many ways, from fines and jail time to exile, sterilization, and even death. Thus, restrictions on personal freedoms resulting from prescribing to strict religious beliefs, are so pervasive in John Wyndhams The Chrysalidsthat the idea can be shown in a multitude of ways including character development, foreshadowing, and conflict. The character development of Sally, Katherine, and Petra shows how their freedom to live normal lives has been taken away by the Waknukians in order to strictly adhere to their religion. Firstly, because of Waknuk s religious beliefs, Katherine and Sally s characters have developed from that of strong independent young women to broken down and dead shells. As Wyndham writes, ...Katherine s been unconscious so long we re wondering if she s dead... we think... something queer must have happened to her [Sally s] mind... very weak, not sensible at all... People measure the implicit and explicit prejudices such as linguistic bias or the income inequality. Some theories with respect to researching this long lasting phenomenon have been raised their awareness of the difference between the traditional prejudice and the contemporary prejudice. To put it differently, the transition of empirical theories of prejudice has been evolved from the blatant and overt form to the subtle and symbolic form. One of the biggest traits of the modern prejudice is hard to catch or notice so that even the prejudice holders are not aware of what they are performing. In this essay, I am going to address the general conception of prejudice using social categorization theory and dive in more details about specific types of prejudice as the essay goes further.
