The narrator cropped a group photo to focus on one girl, then used selection tools to isolate herself from the background and invert the selection so that only she remained in color on a black and white background. Finally, she used a cloning tool to edit lines on the gym floor and make the background wall completely white.

1. Narrative
The first thing I changed on my photo was the size of it; I used the cropping tool in order for the
picture to only consist of one of the group of girls. Next, I used the ‘quick selection tool’ to
select myself out of the entire picture. To add to it, I just clicked around my body; however to
take away from it, I had to hold down the ALT key while clicking. I right clicked on my body
and selected the inverse of it. That basically selected everything in the picture besides what I had
outlined. Then I just changed the inverse to be black and white while I stayed in color. The last
thing I changed on my picture was some of the background, mainly some of the lines on the gym
floor in the picture. I used the ‘cloning tool’, which copied a section of the picture and pasted it
to another place in the picture. To select what I wanted to clone, I held down the ALT key and
then clicked on the specific spot I wanted to clone. After that I just went and clicked on the spot I
wanted to paste that to. I used the same cloning tool in order to make the wall in the background
completely white.
