My Dream House Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "My Dream House" can be both a challenging and exciting task.
The difficulty lies in the need to strike a balance between creativity and realism. On one hand,
you want to vividly paint a picture of your ideal home, showcasing your imagination and
desires. On the other hand, it's essential to ground your vision in practicality, considering factors
such as budget, location, and feasibility.
The challenge intensifies as you aim to make your essay stand out among the multitude of dream
house essays. It requires careful thought and consideration of unique features that distinguish
your dream home from others. Describing the architectural details, interior design, and even the
surrounding environment demands a skillful use of language to captivate the reader's
imagination.
Furthermore, organizing the essay effectively becomes another hurdle. Creating a coherent
structure, where each paragraph flows seamlessly into the next, is crucial. This involves outlining
your dream house in a logical sequence, providing a smooth transition between different aspects
such as the exterior, interior, and the emotions associated with your vision.
Expressing your emotions and personal connection to the dream house can be challenging as
well. Conveying the depth of your feelings and the significance of each element chosen requires
a delicate touch with words. Striking the right balance between enthusiasm and articulation is
key.
In conclusion, while writing a "My Dream House" essay might seem like a delightful task at
first, it comes with its own set of challenges. Crafting a compelling narrative, blending creativity
with practicality, and organizing thoughts effectively are crucial elements in making the essay
engaging and memorable. Despite the challenges, the process can be immensely rewarding,
allowing you to explore your aspirations and share them with others.

The Comics As New Form Of Communication
Reenvisioning Comics as New Form of Communication It is a truth universally
acknowledged that as man has evolved into a more complex being, the appearance
of pictures has gradually been replaced by words. As children mature, they are often
encouraged to read lengthy novels as opposed to comics, which are deemed to be
childish and simple. However, this denies them the potential that comicscan offer in
terms of communication and creativity. In his graphic essay, Show and Tell, comic
artist Scott McCloud encourages the youth to utilize the benefits comics offer as a
new form of expression. By presenting examples of how words and pictures can be
harmoniously used and by identifying elements of comics that can enhance
communication, McCloud is able to successfully argue for the importance of comics
as new mediums for literature and creative expression. In addition, Hillary Chute s
essay, Comics as Literature? Reading Graphic Narrative, further elaborates on the
unique characteristics of comics that can amplify expression, such as manipulating
temporality. Furthermore, Why Teach with Comics by Jennifer Haines illustrates
how comics can be used to widen the potential audience of writer and how they can
improve the way people learn. In modern society, comics are viewed as lowbrow,
simple constructions of words and images, which are primarily used for recreation.

Analysis Of The Movie The Crucible
Two months later, congratulatory applause deafened the newly christened law
offices of Rearin McKinley Attorneys at Law. Finally, a junior partner had made it to
managing partner; Conor McKinley now occupied Mr Hardwood s former office.
Conor smiled as he thought to himself, I can t believe I ve made this far.
Standing next to Conor s side was a beaming Bailiff Bob. Both wore matching
wedding bands. Nothing would stop this power couple, now.
Among those in attendance were former Judge Ricardo Sandoval, who had been
nominated for State Supreme Court Judgeship, and Min jun Kim, now groomed from
his original gangster like appearance to be a doting boyfriend. After two months, they
still couldn t keep their hands off each other, even in public.
Stuart Rutherford with Oliver Winston mingled about the conference room turned
buffet table with drinks in hand and bouts of laughter. And, after all this time, Conor
still had a gut feeling about that Oliver Winston.
Even, the Prosecutor from the murder trial stopped by to give his accolades. Walter
Rearin nodded in apprehension, although he smirked on the inside. The trial s victory
made this law practice a fortune with the assistance of the media coverage.
I ve see you made Conor McKinley a managing partner. He did an outstanding job in
the courtroom, and I m sure we ll hear more from him in years to come, said the
humble Prosecutor.
Walter Rearin spoke, That s kind of you. And exactly why I promoted him. He earned
it.
Mavericks Research Paper
Everywhere in Florida, Mavericks Charter High Schools are popping up. Mavericks
is currently located in Osceola, Palm Beach, North Broward, Central Broward, North
Miami Dade and South Miami Dade counties. The school thrives of a commitment
and focus on student success that many public schools cannot offer. The multi
campus tuition free public charter schools opened in 2009 and have graduated
thousands of students with certified high schooldiplomas. Mavericks changed my life.
I was on track to graduate but when I got here they helped me get where I was

Million Dollar Baby Maggie Character Analysis
In the film Million Dollar Baby Maggie was left in a unfortunate situation leading
up to the fact that she had to fend for herself. However throughout the harsh times
she was in she did not let it haunt her decisions and achieved what she dreamed of
doing, which was boxing. Maggie ended up training at Hit Pit Gym regardless of
Frankie telling her to leave and that he was unwilling to train her; she stood her
ground and was firm on the decision she made. Due to Maggie s persistance
Frankie subsided to Maggie and ended up training her. Due to the choices that
Maggie made she was able to influence the direction and outcome of her life.
Maggie was a girl who was raised in nothing and landed in a dead end job,
waitressing. She was barely paid enough to buy herself dinner; she would wind up
grabbing the leftovers from work and having it for dinner at home. Maggie literally
started from the bottom with nothing to work with. However with her persistance
she was able to get Frankie to train her even though he has informed her multiple
times that he does not train girls and that she is too old to be boxing.... Show more

example of how an individual s choices and actions can greatly influence the
direction of their life. If it wasn t for the fact that she became an excellent fighter she
would still remain in a dead end job. In reality because of her hard work she was able
to earn a bigger salary doing what she loved, additionally she was able to experience
victory for once in her life. Because of the actions she decided to take on the day at
Frankie s gym she was able to win Frankie s approval to train her which inevitabley

Wondering About My Sexuality
I had been wondering about some things in life as I was heading through my teen
years and sexuality was one of them. I was nineteen but I still wasn t sure what boat
I wanted to catch yet. I liked boys don t get me wrong but sexual activity with them
just wasn t exciting and arousing.
I was catching up with my bisexual friend Shelly she was beautiful, had the most
attractive body and she told me she would help me to venture onto trying something
a little different in the sexual department. I wasn t really into the idea of becoming
fleshly with a girl but that was a guessing opinion of mine as I hadn t tried it out
before.
Shelly arrived and let herself in and helped herself to some red wine I had chilling in
my ice bucket.
As we sipped our wine Shelly explained the wine would help to calm my nerves for
the first time.
After a few wines we started giggling together then Shelly moved in for the growl. I
could feel her coming close to me, feeling her hands on my face and I couldn t help
but to go with it.
Her lips connected to mine and our tongues explored for a few moments until Shelly
pulled away and smiled, So honey got any finger food I m a little peckish . I went to
the kitchen and opened some savory biscuits and placed them in a bowl when I felt
Shelly s arms around my waist clutching me tightly. Her lips came close to my ear.
I felt her teeth gently gnaw into my ear as she started to slide her knee inside my
thighs letting me feel her close.
Shelly s warmth had a
Three Basic Trig Functions Of Trigonometry
SIX BASIC TRIG FUNCTIONS
Trigonometry, stemming from the greek words trigonon and metron , is the branch
of mathematics in which sides and angles within in a triangle are examined in
relation to one another. A right triangle has six total functions used in correlation to
its angles, represented by the greek letter theta (Оё). The primary operations are sine
(sin), cosine (cos) and tangent (tan) which serve also as the reciprocal of cosecant
(csc), secant (sec), and cotangent (cot) in that order. All six have abbreviations shown
in parenthesis. Sine is the trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side
opposite a given angle (Оё) to the hypotenuse. Cosine is the ratio of the side
adjacent to Оё to the hypotenuse. Tangent is the ratio of the opposite side from the
given angle to the adjacent side. These functions are used in order to calculate
unknown angles or distances from some known and/or measured aspects in a
geometric figure.
BRIEF HISTORY Trigonometrybegan as a method born from necessity to model the
motions of galactic objects in mathematical astronomy. In order to predict their
movements with geometric accuracy Hipparchus began the development of
mathematical tools which would allow astronomers to convert arc lengths to distance
measurements. Many contribute Hipparchus as the father of trigonometry. He was
the first to construct a table of values of a trigonometric function and created the
notion that all triangles as being inscribed into a circle
Literary Devices In Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To
Arms
Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms is a great adventure of ones life. A
great love story of a man, Frederic Henry, and a woman, Catherine Barkley, that are
in a
time of war. Hemingway wanted to connect with his readers and make an amazing
story,
which he did.
Hemingway has a unique way of using words. He uses repetition quite a bit in the
story with things like the continuing use of to morrow and on page six talks about the
oak trees and the oak forests. The way Hemingway connects to his readers so well is
the
use of adjectives, also how he sets up his sentences. He uses adjectives that are very
common they aren t hard to figure out what they mean. For example, within the first
two
chapters of the book he explains the summer nights as cool and the whether very nice.
They are words that any teenager could read and understand with flying colors. He
also
sets up his sentences very short and to the point, it s more that he s trying to make us
connect to Henry so that we are more involved into Henry. We understand him as a
person. We image him doing what he is doing; it s the use of more pronouns so we
aren t
combining the sentences, he stops just to use another I or me.
There were many of wonderful quotes in A Farewell To Arms
. The first quote I
find ironic, I knew I did not love Catherine Barkley nor had any idea of loving her
(Hemingway 26). Considering that Henry and Catherine end up falling in love only
for
him to end up losing her in the end. There

Evaluation Of A Program Evaluation
A Program Evaluation is an important factor in determining if an agency is
producing successful results. Usually a program evaluation is requested or brought
forth by a specific concern that is in need of being addressed. This type of practice
based research method provides agencies with accountability. Sometimes a program
evaluationis needed in order for some agencies to continue to receive funding to
keep their programs, to meet accreditation standards, and to ensure clients are
being helped by the programs (Royse, 2011). Before performing a program
evaluation, it is important to consider many factors such as time, resources,
audience, and purpose. A time limit for an agency evaluation could change the
direction the evaluation goes. Resources are definitely an important aspect of the
evaluation. A lack of resources could result in a simpler process whether than a
copyrighted tool for an evaluation. The type of audience and purpose will in turn
decide which type of method is to be implemented. The written report should be
prepared for the type of audience that will be examining it. Each audience will
require their unique writing style (Royse, 2011). For example, if the audience is a
group of high school students, it would be necessary to write in a less complex
writing style.

Review Of The Lord Of The Rings
The incredible complexity of Gollum is evident to anyone who watches the Lord of
the Rings trilogy. Although he is a CGI character, he offers great emotional depth.
There is never any doubt that he is just as real and important as the movies non CGI
characters. Clearly, animators painstakingly created Gollumto achieve this realism;
however, what audiences are less aware of, myself included, is the extremes that
Andy Serkis, the actor behind Gollum, went to in order to create him. Now, Serkis is
well known as an actor who can achieve incredible physical transformations. Roles
including Gollum in the Lord of the Ringsand Hobbitmovies, King Kong in King
Kong, and the ape Caesar in the Planet of the Apes movies have made Serkis a
household... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They look up on screen and see me in those roles (cite NPR) To achieve his
masterful physical transformation into Gollum, Serkis started with the character s
voice. Serkis states that he wanted to find the construction in [Gollum s] throat, the
source of his pain (cite Guardian). He viewed Gollum s voice as intrinsically linked
to his physicality, with Gollum s body being controlled by the ring and then his
voice and the gollum sounds he makes being an involuntary manifestation.
Accidently, Serkis used his own pet cat to create Gollum s distinctive voice. He
noticed how when his cat threw up a furball, it was like the whole body writhes
from the tip of the neck to the tip of the tail and convulses. And you see this ripple
goes down its spine (cite NPR). Although Serkis started with Gollum s voice, the
character s voice and his physicality were always linked. This technique is
reminiscent with our own experiments with animal masks in class. While working on
our character pieces, we picked an animal that matched that character and then
experienced the character as that animal. This method proves to be incredibly
helpful because it allows the actor to uncover a hidden side of the character that
animal nature we all have but suppress as civilized members of society. Watching

Marvin Berkowitz On Character Education
This article written by Marvin W. Berkowitz focuses on answering three questions
regarding character education. The questions are what is character education, does
character education work, and what is effective character education? The ratio of
discussion per question is roughly 1:3:6, respectively. Berkowitz informs the readers
that character educationis truly a complex topic and concept, and Berkowitz
classifies character education as rocket science (even using scientific descriptors). By
stating that character education complicated, educators are comforted in case they
have had failed attempts at establishing a productive character education program in
their classrooms. The simple way to view character education is a blend of pro social

high school of Des Moines Independent Community School District, chose to wear
black armbands to school in opposition of the Vietnam War. The Respondent, Des
Moines Independent Community School District, created a policy that banned
wearing of black armbands to school. Any student who wore armbands to school
would be asked to remove it, but if they refuse, they would be suspended until
compliance with the policy. Although Mary Beth Tinker and John F. Tinker were
aware of the new policy, they still executed their plan. Tinker was sent home and

Menenius As A Foil To Coriolanus
Menenius is a man of words whereas Coriolanus is a man of action. This will be
explored with reference to Coriolanus as whole. Throughout the play we realise
that Menenius Agrippa functions as a foil to Coriolanus. Menenius does not love
the plebeians any more than Coriolanus and the other patricians do. Although he
calls them his good friends and honest neighbours we know that he thinks they are
all a bunch of dissentious rogues and never takes their side when they complain
about the social and political inequality of Rome . Menenius is more of a good actor

Water Fowl Hunting Research Paper
Across the United States of America, water fowl hunting is one of the most popular
hunting sports that occurs every year during the autumn and winter seasons. Hunters
spread out over wide range of areas across the United States to take a shot at geese,
ducks, and other well known game birds. Water fowl huntingcan be done in crop
fields or on a river. When a shot goes up over half the shots taken pellets are falling
towards a field or wet land area. Concerns have been made and laws and regulations
against Lead Shots are being adjusted. The new laws and regulations are requiring
water fowl hunters who use traditional lead shot ammunition are now to use steel
shots when water fowl hunting. (White)
Lead Ammunition has been the traditional form of ammunition for over many
decades now. Many hunters have been using lead ammunition since the early 1960 s.
Ammunition manufactures started creating shot gun shells that are made of red
plastic and contain over a minimum of twenty or more lead pellets in each shell.
Some shells very in different sizes and contain different amounts of lead pellets for
different hunting uses. These shells were made to have a high killing power when
hunting waterfowl. Such a tiny lead pellet has become a very big ... Show more

Steel shot ammunition pellets weigh less than a steel pellet does. They have a less
kill power than a lead pellet. They come in the same shot gun shells as lead does but
they have more pellets inside giving them a stronger force. Just like the lead pellet
shells they vary in different shell sizes for different hunting uses. Steel shells give a
cleaner shot that will help the game bird bleed more freely without getting the pellet
stuck inside its body. The most important part about this substitution is the steel
pellets are eliminating lead poisoning from
How Did College Basketball Form And How Has It

How did college basketball form and how has it changed over the years?
Basketball is one of the most watched or frequently played sport in history, on top
of soccer, football, or baseball. In this essay, I will answer the question, and tell
about some important events in basketball history. Basketball started in 1891. It
has now grown into one of the most popular sports in history. Basketball was
invented in December 1891 by Canadian James W. Naismith. An instructor at the
YMCA Training School in Massachusetts, he sought a suitable indoor game to keep
his students fit and warm during the cold New England winters. With wire mesh
backboards. He formulated 13 rules, most of which still apply today. In 1893, the
first women s game was played at the Smith College, in Northampton,
Massachusetts, USA. And soon to spread all over the world. Rules of the game of
basketball. Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score
by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is
played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The
court is divided into two main sections by the mid court line. If the offensive team
puts the ball into play behind the mid court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball
over the mid court line. If it doesn t, then the defense gets the ball. Once the
offensive team gets the ball over the mid court line, it can no longer have possession
of the ball in the area in back of the
Reconciliation Action Plan
Reconciliation Action Plan The goals and visions behind my reconciliation action
plan was to bring the two sides of Aboriginal and non Aboriginal Australians together
in equality and harmony. Since the colonisation of Australia there has been a vast
divide between the two sides that has caused many serious outcomes for Aboriginal
people. My way of contributing to this is to create a better understanding, restore
trust and eradicate racism as a positive way to help close the gap between Aboriginal
and non Aboriginal Australias. The reason for this report was to explain the steps that
were taken to create and implement this action plan and the outcomes. My three

For my first event I took a friend to a movie night hosted by the Notre Dame
Student Association and students from the Aboriginal People unit. They
organised a free viewing a movie by John Pilger called Utopia and a follow up
survey. This extraordinary film gives a deep insight into the First Australians
struggles of harsh dispossession and the ongoing deaths and poverty. Pilger puts
the hard word on many members of the Australian government who are responsible
for many deaths, explorations, betrayals and breaches to Aboriginal peoples
human rights. This film was very moving and had a great impact on myself who
had already studied a lot of this content but seeing it again in a different way
opened my eyes even more to the sadness and grief suffered by Aboriginal people
due to discrimination and lack of justice. As for my friend she was greatly saddened
and shocked by what she has seen. Coming from a very English background she
expressed feeling somewhat guilty about what had happened and how disappointed
she was in the Australian government on this matter. The movie inspired a lengthy
conversation about the importance of righting past wrongs for Aboriginal people
and spreading awareness to her family and friends. It was also interesting to discover
that when moving to Australian from England in 2010 that she had noticed a great
deal of racism towards
Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son
Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best
essay writers in the twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race,
discrimination, sexuality and most of all his personal experiences. In Notes of a
Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across. First, he likes to tell
a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He
describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants
the reader a chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the
reader s is. He likes to argue and provides the basis for his argument in Notes of a
Native Son . Throughout the essay he talks about himself and his father,... Show more

There are stories he incorporates to illustrate the point. In the middle we move to a
more self centered narrative. He tells of his story in New Jersey where he realized
he could kill someone. He shares some of his thoughts of why people acted as they
did towards him and others. This is an effective way he uses narrating and
analyzing to work for the reader s understanding. The essay goes into great detail
of his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65),
and beautiful (64). He does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us
some of the good as well. Throughout his storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into
his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the extent of the essay. In
the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used
about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real
life, was in danger, and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred
I carried in my own heart. (72) This hatred he talks about exists towards his father.
Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told. The death had aroused
feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. His contempt of his father
(63) lasts through most of the essay. Soon after this, we find out that Mr. Baldwin is
sick and has been
Mobile Phones And Cell Phones
When looking at technology in families, parents are often not the focus of research
and most studies examine the children. However, with parents being part of a child s
microsystem which directly effects their environment it seems crucial to also look
how parents use technology. Technology use in parents could potentially have the
ability to shape their child s use of technologyand how they view technology.
In the introduction it was mentioned about how the percentage of adults ages 18 29
had a high percentage of cell phone use and smartphone ownership. However, when
looking at age groups who own a smart phone ownership goes down with age. The
same trend applies when just looking at cell phone ownership without smartphone
capabilities. This means that the younger a parent is, the more likely it will be that
they own a cell phone or a smart phone (Anderson, 2015). In this modern day and
age cell phones are easy to carry and can be very cheap to buy. Cellphones are an
easy and efficient way for parents to keep in touch with their children. A study
conducted in 2009 looked at parents and their children. The study questioned how
parents use technology and children s truthfulness in talking to their parents on the
phone. It was discovered in this study that parents used their technology as a way to
parent by giving reminders, increase their own personal knowledge about their child s
whereabouts, and to control behaviors by telling them to return home (Weisskirch,
2009).

Explanation Of A Speech By Elizabeth I And Elizabeth
This primary source, is a historical text, a transcription of a speech by Elizabeth I,
Queen of England. In fact, there are at least two main versions of this important
speech. To understand the importance of the speech we must remember that at that
time England and Spain had intermittent conflicts. At this period Spain, was ruled
by Philip II and England was ruled by Elizabeth I. The relations between Elizabeth
I and Philip II had always been tough, with a lot of disagreements: political,
economic and religious. Philip had even prepared the invasion of England since the
beginning of his reign. We know that by 1574 he had already prepared a fleet, under

Research Paper On Giotto
This is an artwork is by Giotto. Giotto was an artist that was very advance for his
time. He grew up as a shepherds boy in the outskirts of florence. There he worked
on his paintings when an artist named Cimabue saw his artwork and took him
under his wing as an apprentice. Giotto s work is so important because he was
using a thing called perspective. Perspective was lost during the middle ages, but
Giotto reclaimed it. Though nobody used this method for a couple hundred years, if
it weren t for Giotto then it could have been much longer before art became more
advanced. Florence, Italyhad other important features during the Renaissancebesides
Giotto s artwork. Florence was one of the five very important city states in Italy. It

A Brief Note On The Twisted Pair Cables
2.3.3 Twisted Pair
There are two types of Twisted Pair Cables, Shielded Twisted Pair (STP), and
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP). Shielded Twisted Pair Cables have a very thin
wire mesh that shield and protect the transmission. STP cables are used for the
older phone networks, as well as data and network communications which are
clearer and have less interference with the outside. Whereas Unshielded Twisted Pair
Cables have no wire mesh and are therefore not protecting the transmission in the
wiring. UTPs are mainly used for Local Area Networks (LAN) as well as telephone
connections, however these are more vulnerable than STPs (Shielded Twisted Pair).
3. Backing Storage
3.1 Types 3.1.1 Disks
You can back up your storage on a separate Hard Disk and on other forms of Disks
such as a Floppy Disk. Using another Hard Disk to back up your storage is useful
because it means that you can back up everything that is stored on the Hard Disk
you want to back up. However it all depends on the size of Hard Disk you get. If it
s much smaller than your current Disk, then you will only be able to back up the
more important stuff that is stored on the Disk. Whereas if you got a Hard Disk
that is bigger than your current Disk, then you will have room to back up the whole
Disk, as well as add extras when you need to back up more recent data.

Pen drives can be used to back up data by putting them into the USB port of the

Pressure On Homework Essay
I think that parents put a lot of pressure on homework, but then if they need
something done. They want us to drop what we are doing and do it. My mom does
this a lot. She will want us to work on our homework, but then she will want us to
do the dishes or sweep the floor. If don t do it the way they want it done, we get
yelled at. We don t even win. It starts to get stressful after a while. They always
think that even though we seem to not be doing our homework. They can just put
other tasks on top of our homework. I know I ve went to my room multiple times to
just cried, because it is so stressful or I will go for a walk to clear my mind. This
much stress is not good because it leads to other health problems like depression.
Sometimes I blow up on my parents. It s not good to do but it lets me tellmy parents
how I feel about the subject. It s not easy yelling at my parents but if that s the only
way they are going to listen to me, I have to do something about it. It s not easy to
get along with the people at my house all the time but I either try to or I go off to
somewhere there is nobody. Some ways I think this could be resolved is that no

Liam Goldsworthy On Protons
Liam Goldsworthy What are electrons, protons and neutrons made of? Essay
Everything that exists in the world is made up of atoms, from the asteroids that float
around in space to the very cells inside a human body. Atoms are everywhere and that
s because atoms make up everything. Atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and
electrons, each element has different amount of protons, neutrons and electrons. For
instance one Helium atom has two protons, two neutrons and two electrons. Helium is
an extremely stable element so there are no variations such as ions or isotopes. So we
know that atoms make up everything in the universe and atoms are made up of
protons, neutrons and electrons. So what makes protons, neutrons and electrons?

Electrons are known to fall into orbits or energy levels. These orbits are not visible
like the orbit of a planet or celestial body. The reason is that atoms are so small and
the best microscopes can only view so much of atoms at that scale. Even if we could
view electrons they would move too fast for the human eye. We can only estimate
where the electrons are, that is why the modern model of the atoms has an electron
cloud surrounding the nucleus of an atom instead of a set orbit. Electrons are classed
under as fermions seen in diagram 3, as far as we know electrons have no internal
structure instead they are oscillations of the electron field or quantum field
Analysis of Socrates Definition of Justice in The Republic
An Analysis of Socrates Definition of Justice
Introduction
This paper will consider Socrates definition of justice in the individual by showing
what, according to this definition, makes people and action just and whether Socrates
definition of justice is plausible. It appears that Socrates definition of justice is
plausible but demanding. However, because the transcendentals that Socrates seeks
are like the light at the top of the mountain up which the philosopher climbs after
leaving the cave, it must be realized that the journey toward justice is one of labor but
not one that is implausible.
Context
Plato founded the Academy at Athens after Socrates death and preserved the lessons
that Socrates had taught, essentially laying a foundation for the study of philosophy
in Western Civilization. Plato s Republic seeks to unite the lessons of the Academy
with the circle of politics that occupied much of Plato s life: The Republic, in fact,
teaches that unless philosophy and politics unite completely, the evils of the state
will never cease. This unity, indeed, is what is at the core of Socrates (and therefore
Plato s) definition of justice.
As B. M. Laing states, The Republic argues that justice is the principle which co
ordinates different arts (Laing, The Problem of Justice in Plato s Republic, p. 412).
The definition of justice that Socrates attempts to explore throughout The Republic is
one that considers the individual in relation to the city or the
Fescn2 Reaction Lab
The purpose of this lab was to figure out what the formation constant (Kf) was for
FeSCN2+. To answer this guiding question, Le Chatlier s principle, volume,
absorbance, and concentration all effect outcomes of equilibrium. For this reason, all
three components will be collected in order to solve for the average formation
constant. Equilibrium is the rate at which the forward reactions and reverse reactions
become equal at a constant rate. Equilibrium constant, denoted by K, is the
relationship between the concentrations of product over the concentrations of
reactants raised to their specific coefficients. In the balanced equation of Fe3+ (aq) +

From data table 3, Kf values range from 327 to 362, averaging out to be 345.
[Fe3+] and [SCN ] initial concentrations were first calculated using Beer s Law
M1V=M2V2 dilution equation. Then [FeSCN2+] was calculated using the found
concentration of [Fe3+] and [SCN ]. After that, [FeSCN2+]eq. was solved by (A eq.)
/(A sd. ) [FeSCN2+]sd.
[FeSCN2+] was then used in an ICE chart to determine the final concentration
changes for Fe3+] and [SCN ]. This allowed for the calculation of Kf = ([products])
/([reactants]). The sample calculations from beaker 1 are as written: initial [Fe3+]=
((0.00200 M)(5.17 ml))/(10.28 ml) = 1.01 п‚ґ 10 3 M and initial [SCN ]= ((0.00200
M)(2.00 ml))/(10.28 ml) = 3.89 п‚ґ 10 4 M в†’ [FeSCN2+]eq. = 0.318/0.818(2.00п‚ґ
гЂ–10гЂ—^( 4) M) = 9.36 п‚ґ 10 5 M. The ICE chart from table 4 provides [Fe3+]
and [SCN ] in which Kf=(9.36 п‚ґ гЂ–10гЂ—^( 5) M)/((9.16 Г— гЂ–10гЂ—^( 4)
M)(2.95 Г— гЂ–10гЂ—^( 4) M)) = 346. Furthermore, the large concentration of Kf
supports the notion of the reactants being used up and shifting the reaction towards
the right. When comparing Kf values, others had values within the 300 to 350 range.

What Does Rip Woodchip Mean
Rip Rip Woodchip was written by Australian country music and folk singer song
writer John Williamson in 1989. John was born in 1945 and has released over 40
albums, as well as videos, DVD s and lyric books. He has won over 30 awards. Rip
Rip Woodchip is a protest song about deforestation and the negative impacts it has
to our environment. Throughout the 1980s, Australians realised that logging was
destroying our environment. Up until the 1950s, trees were cut down by hand and
only the trees that were wanted were felled. When machinery was introduced,
whole forests were now being cut down, causing hectares of devastation. Many
poetic techniques have been used in Rip Rip Woodchip. In verse 1 and 2,
colloquial language has been used many times with the words such as gotta and
gonna . Colloquial language is words that are not a part of formal vocabulary or
language. Another word for colloquial is slang. It creates a conversational tone for
the reader and it is a typical Australian abbreviation that the audience can relate to....

The Liberation Tigers Of Tamil Eelam
From its inception in 1976, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), or Tamil
Tigers, have launched a campaign to form a separate independent state for the
Tamils in the Northern and Eastern part of Sri Lanka (SATP). The Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI) released a report in 2008 stating the LTTE to be among the
most dangerous and deadly extremists in the world (FBI). According to the FBI
report, the LTTE perfected the use of suicide bombers, invented the suicide belt,
became the first to use women in suicide attacks and are credited with the
assassination of two world leaders, the only terrorist organization to have ever
done so (FBI). Apart from its ruthless guerilla tactics, the LTTE are considered as
one of the most organized and disciplined terrorist organizations (SATP). The
leadership within the LTTE is divided between two groups: a military wing and a
political wing just beneath it. The military wing is composed of a naval unit the
Sea Tigers, an air force the Air Tigers, a suicide unit Black Tigers, an elite fighting
wing, and an intelligence unit (SATP). The central governing committee was
responsible for overseeing the two wings and Velupillai Prabhakaran, the founder of
the LTTE and head of the power structure, was the chairman of this committee and
the commander in chief of the Army (SATP). The leadership and command
structure of the LTTE allowed for a continuous Sri Lankan civil war that lasted for

Attachment Theory And Its Impact On Our Lives
New born babies are the future of mankind and how we treat them has a great

An Individual s Identity Is Shaped By Many Aspects Of...
An individual s identity is shaped by many aspects of their life, but the ones where
they either experienced hardship or were oppressed are the most prominent in
defining their identity. Individuals who identify as LGBTQ often have to deal with
issues of inequality in their everyday lives, because the dominant group, straight
individuals, create an environment where others feel oppressed. In many situations
the dominant group feels as though anyone not like them needs to change, and
because they believe sexual orientationis a choice, they should just be straight. The
importance of maintaining individualfreedom, even when laws that oppress people
and discrimination is very prevalent, ultimately allows people to feel free. Many

While he was talking about race, the argument still applies to sexuality, and necause
LGBTQ individuals had to endure this injustice it was not only their privilege, but
their right to take action against it. Taking this initiative to create an equal society
was best accomplished through nonviolent resistance. Martin Luther King Jr., a large
proponent of nonviolent campaigns, writes about how there are four basic steps in
creating a campaign. First the collection of the facts to determine whether injustice
exists, which in this case it does based on the definition of an unjust law. Next, self
purification, this is having the confidence to unwaveringly believe in a cause and not
stray from non violence resistance. Third direct action which is used to create enough
tension in the community so that something happens, in this case causing friction
between the government and LGBTQ individuals. Finally, negotiation, where people
worked with the government to change the law so that LGBTQ individuals have the
right to get married. While, this does not have an affect on societal view it at least
makes individuals freedoms legal. Martin Luther King Jr., believe in talking the
initiative to challenge unjust laws that revoke personal freedom and accepted all
sorts of punishment, from the dominant group, for it. This was similar to what
LGBTQ individuals were willing to do for equality, but with regards to sexual
orientation not race. Individual expression is another way that the
Hillbilly Elegy
Capital in the Twenty First Century by Thomas Piketty attempts to answer some
questions regarding inequality. He argues that we are now re entering a more typical
period of low growth. Thus, the rate of return on investment rapidly outpaces the rate
of overall economic growth (r g). A trend well nknown through history until the 19th
century. He predicts that this path will likely continue in the 21st century, resulting in
wealth growing faster than output and income thus pushing towards divergence of
equality.
Mr. Piketty discusses global inequality by emphasizing the geographical distribution
of global output change throughout the 19th and 20th century. He rebuts classical
economic theories by arguing that the free flow of capital does ... Show more content

He also describes Trump s supporters with a theory social scientists know as contact

environment increases your chances of political and cultural misunderstanding, and
a general fear of rejection and not belonging. Vance s in his book Hillbilly Elegy,
can help us understand some of the resentment Trump supporters have against the
government and globalization. The book describes the struggles of the white
working class the hillbilly culture. Vance argues that the hillbillies blame their
problems on society or the government. Partly because they feel a sense of rejection
from everyone else. These were people than were on an upward tra jectory until
globalization and technology replaced them for something else. Family men worked
as sharecroppers, coal miners, and steel workers until the industrial jobs began to
disappear6. Trump tapped into hillbillies sense of self, and indetified in them on
hostility to immigrants and other countries. Mr Piketty argues that the real tragedy is
that Trump s agenda will only strengthen the trend towards inequality, and as a result,

they are not the most important issues to take care of first. The issues I feel are
more important are personal to me or are important to the people who are close to
me who have maybe gone through or dealt with some of these issues. Overall on the
issue of abortion rights, Democrats are pro choice. This issue was thought to be
resolved by Supreme Court in the case of Roe v. Wade. No matter if abortion is
illegal or not, women will do what they want concerning their bodies even if that
means going to an underground abortion operation, which in most cases are
botched and the woman having the unbelievably dangerous procedure dies. The
Roe v. Wade case, Supreme Court thought out a legal balance between the rights of
women and also the rights of the developing fetuses. A couple of these legal
balances; Before a fetus can live outside the womb, which is the 1st and 2nd
trimester, or 6 months, women have a right to choose whether to abort or not, and
after a fetus is viable, states may prohibit all abortions, as long as they make
exceptions where a woman s life or health are in danger (). In some nations early
abortion is legal where certain religions predominate. Democrats respect the views
of others who believe it is immoral and is very over to debate over the issue.
Motor Recovery After Stroke Essay
Stroke is the third most frequent cause of death and the most common cause of
acquired adult disability in developed countries (WHO 2003). The ability to predict
early an accurate prognosis for motor recovery after stroke is important as it could
provide useful information for specific rehabilitation strategies and final motor
outcomes. In fact, decisions on the type, duration, and goals of rehabilitation are
based on several factors, including estimates of the patient s potential for recovery of
motor function, and have far reaching consequences. The ability to evaluate the
expected level of motor and functional recovery after stroke may help in early
decision making on medical and rehabilitation treatments as well as in research trials
for assessment of intervention effects. Improvements in the accuracy of prognosis for
the recovery of independence in daily activities would enable realistic goal setting
and efficient resource allocation by clinicians and patients. Therefore, many of
previous studies have attempted to predict motor outcomes in stroke patients using
various methods, including clinical findings (Hendricks et al., 2002), MRI (DeVetten

The Conflicted Japan of Yukio Mishima s Spring Snow
Yukio Mishima was a revolutionary author. His dramatic public suicide is the perfect
capstone to a life full of turmoil and unrest. Mishima himself was as conflicted as his
many stories and plays, which tend to play out the problem of which direction is
Japan heading, and should the nation be developing that way. Mishima romanticized
the samurai and nurtured a lifelong affair with traditional Japanese theater. At the
same time, he admired the West and studied Western art and literature avidly. The
influence is evident, from the decidedly 19th Century British feel of his novel, Spring
Snow, to the many references therein to Western art, literature, film, and philosophy.

Kiyoaki is he son of the Marquis Matsugae, a sort of nouveau riche during the reign
of the Meiji Emperor. Kiyoaki, a beautiful young man on the path to success in the
new Japan, is in love with his childhood friend, Satoko, the beautiful daughter of
the Ayakura family. The Ayakuras are very prominent, of higher aristocratic class
than even Kiyoaki s family, and the Matsugaes view the closeness of the families
as a fortune. Kiyoaki is a moody, pensive boy who gets a thrill out of alternately
rejecting and accepting Satoko s demure advances. Eventually the Ayakuras will
wait no more for Kiyoaki to make his approach for Satoko s hand in marriage, and,
faced with another offer from an impressive suitor, Satoko becomes engaged to be

he truly loves Satoko. With the help of his friend, Honda, the son of a judge in the
Japanese court system, Kiyoaki begins an affair with her. The two meet cladestinely
for sex, and Satoko eventually becomes pregnant. Having violated multiple social
barriers, and after the realization of Satoko s pregnancy, the couple are found out.
Satoko is sent to a nunnery, and Kiyoaki dies, presumably of heartache and the flu, at

The Good Society By Alan Draper And Ansil Ramsay
Our class has been focused since day one about good governance . There are many
definitions as to what good governance could look like. It could change from
country to country, all the way down to person to person. Someone in Iran is more
likely to say the way the Iranians govern is better than the United States than
someone anywhere else. There are some generally accepted guidelines, but some
other institutions have a different focus. In class, we have read from multiple
sources, such as The Good Society by Alan Draper and Ansil Ramsay and
Introduction to Comparative Politics by Stephen Orvis and Carol Ann Drogus, in
order to come up with a definition so we could clearly define for ourselves what good
governance is. To many of us, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Good Society also debated the connections a good society has with good
governance . They had a very Classical Liberal ideology behind their defection of
what a society should be, and that very much reflects what the West believes the rest
of the world should be. There is also the debate about which one leads to the other,
and that is a chicken or the egg debate, but Draper and Ramsay believed that if the
society believes this way, then the government will be reflective of the society, and
there is pretty much only one correct way to go about it. They had a narrow
definition, and ignored other societies and propped up the West as the correct form
of governing. Many would agree that this is the best government possible, but those
many grew up in a society that praises democracy, instead of one that praised
monarchs or the military. They grew up in a democracy so naturally they would
believe a democracy is the best. They were nurtured to believe in such a way.
Nanda, however, differed the most from all the rest. Nanda believed that there really
was no one size fits all definition. He believed cultures and what is popular during
the time period changed the definition so drastically, that there could be no one good
government . He did give a list of generally accepted traits; established democracies,
effective participation, and strengthened accountability. Nanda was also a believer in
cultural relativism, that is the view that
Differences Between The Last Samurai And Satsuma
Rebellion
The Last Samurai vs. The Satsuma Rebellion The Last Samurai is a war film
depicting Civil War veteran Nathan Algren, thrust into the middle of a conflict
between a small sect of samurai and the newly formed Japanese empire after being
sent over to train the empire s army. The film was inspired by the events of the
1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigo Takamori. While the film retains some
genuine aspects of the time period, many aspects of the film are fictionalized. This
most notably includes the size of the conflict. While the rebellion was a massive
conflict that exhausted the resources of the fledgling Japanese empire, the film
depicts the conflict as relatively small, limiting it to only two battles. The film is,
overall, an entertaining yet inaccurate depiction of the Satsuma Rebellion and the
time period as a whole.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Prussia or Britten. It would also be out of place for the United States to be

the use of firearms within the film compared to reality. In reality not only were
samurai well versed in the use of rifles (the film depicts them using only swords,
spears and bows) but the newly formed Japanese army would have fairly competent

There are a large number of possible configurations of engine, electric machine(s)2,

These religious traditions, which have become normalcies, regardless of legislation to
raise the minimum age for marriage to eighteen, CEFM is still widely practiced. This
presents an uphill battle that requires a multi sector approach to address not only
religious aspects, but also financial and economic factors that may limit the poorest of
women from attaining the healthcare required to treat the harmful consequences of
adolescent pregnancy. This puts women at even greater risk for maternal mortality,
and post natal mortality.
Many successful interventions and sustainable strategies have been proven useful
in shifting perspectives both in respects to gender inequality and access to
essential resources, which all have an affect on reducing rates of CEFM across the

Tidal: The New Wave in Streaming Media
As technological advances continue, FM/AM radio becomes more and more
obsolete. While it s true the for the time being, terrestrial radio isn t in any clear
danger of being replaced, the growing popularity of streaming sites may send radio
along the way of the 8 track. One of the newest and most popular streaming platforms
is Tidal. Sporting unprecedented artist ownership and blockbuster exclusive material,
Tidal surged into the fray in 2015 with genuine lossless quality; its 1.4Mbps is more
CD quality than mp3.
When Jay Z bought Tidal s parent company Aspiro in 2015, the music industrywas
turned on its ear. Owned by artists such as the aforementioned Jay Z, Beyonce,
Madonna and a plethora of others, Tidal offers high fidelity, lossless music quality
and exclusive content for its subscribers. Being owned by the artists themselves,
Tidal claims to pay the highest percentage of royalties to musical artists and
songwriters in the music streaming market. Tidal also has distribution deals with
many record labels, including the big three: Universal Music Group, Sony Music
Entertainment and Warner Music Group. The Tidal library consists of 30 million
tracks, mirroring the library sizes of Apple and Spotify, although it is understood that
certain tracks can only be found on Tidal. To mark the new launch, many musical
artists took to social media, changing their profile pictures blue and using hashtags
like #TIDALForAll on Facebook,

  • 2. The Comics As New Form Of Communication Reenvisioning Comics as New Form of Communication It is a truth universally acknowledged that as man has evolved into a more complex being, the appearance of pictures has gradually been replaced by words. As children mature, they are often encouraged to read lengthy novels as opposed to comics, which are deemed to be childish and simple. However, this denies them the potential that comicscan offer in terms of communication and creativity. In his graphic essay, Show and Tell, comic artist Scott McCloud encourages the youth to utilize the benefits comics offer as a new form of expression. By presenting examples of how words and pictures can be harmoniously used and by identifying elements of comics that can enhance communication, McCloud is able to successfully argue for the importance of comics as new mediums for literature and creative expression. In addition, Hillary Chute s essay, Comics as Literature? Reading Graphic Narrative, further elaborates on the unique characteristics of comics that can amplify expression, such as manipulating temporality. Furthermore, Why Teach with Comics by Jennifer Haines illustrates how comics can be used to widen the potential audience of writer and how they can improve the way people learn. In modern society, comics are viewed as lowbrow, simple constructions of words and images, which are primarily used for recreation. Although some progress has been made in familiarizing
  • 3. Analysis Of The Movie The Crucible Two months later, congratulatory applause deafened the newly christened law offices of Rearin McKinley Attorneys at Law. Finally, a junior partner had made it to managing partner; Conor McKinley now occupied Mr Hardwood s former office. Conor smiled as he thought to himself, I can t believe I ve made this far. Standing next to Conor s side was a beaming Bailiff Bob. Both wore matching wedding bands. Nothing would stop this power couple, now. Among those in attendance were former Judge Ricardo Sandoval, who had been nominated for State Supreme Court Judgeship, and Min jun Kim, now groomed from his original gangster like appearance to be a doting boyfriend. After two months, they still couldn t keep their hands off each other, even in public. Stuart Rutherford with Oliver Winston mingled about the conference room turned buffet table with drinks in hand and bouts of laughter. And, after all this time, Conor still had a gut feeling about that Oliver Winston. Even, the Prosecutor from the murder trial stopped by to give his accolades. Walter Rearin nodded in apprehension, although he smirked on the inside. The trial s victory made this law practice a fortune with the assistance of the media coverage. I ve see you made Conor McKinley a managing partner. He did an outstanding job in the courtroom, and I m sure we ll hear more from him in years to come, said the humble Prosecutor. Walter Rearin spoke, That s kind of you. And exactly why I promoted him. He earned it.

However throughout the harsh times she was in she did not let it haunt her decisions and achieved what she dreamed of doing, which was boxing. Maggie ended up training at Hit Pit Gym regardless of Frankie telling her to leave and that he was unwilling to train her; she stood her ground and was firm on the decision she made. Due to Maggie s persistance Frankie subsided to Maggie and ended up training her. Due to the choices that Maggie made she was able to influence the direction and outcome of her life. She was barely paid enough to buy herself dinner; she would wind up grabbing the leftovers from work and having it for dinner at home. • 6. Wondering About My Sexuality I had been wondering about some things in life as I was heading through my teen years and sexuality was one of them. I was nineteen but I still wasn t sure what boat I wanted to catch yet. I liked boys don t get me wrong but sexual activity with them just wasn t exciting and arousing. I was catching up with my bisexual friend Shelly she was beautiful, had the most attractive body and she told me she would help me to venture onto trying something a little different in the sexual department. I wasn t really into the idea of becoming fleshly with a girl but that was a guessing opinion of mine as I hadn t tried it out before. Shelly arrived and let herself in and helped herself to some red wine I had chilling in my ice bucket. As we sipped our wine Shelly explained the wine would help to calm my nerves for the first time. After a few wines we started giggling together then Shelly moved in for the growl. I could feel her coming close to me, feeling her hands on my face and I couldn t help but to go with it. Her lips connected to mine and our tongues explored for a few moments until Shelly pulled away and smiled, So honey got any finger food I m a little peckish . I went to the kitchen and opened some savory biscuits and placed them in a bowl when I felt Shelly s arms around my waist clutching me tightly. Her lips came close to my ear. I felt her teeth gently gnaw into my ear as she started to slide her knee inside my thighs letting me feel her close. Shelly s warmth had a
  • 7. Three Basic Trig Functions Of Trigonometry SIX BASIC TRIG FUNCTIONS Trigonometry, stemming from the greek words trigonon and metron , is the branch of mathematics in which sides and angles within in a triangle are examined in relation to one another. A right triangle has six total functions used in correlation to its angles, represented by the greek letter theta (Оё). The primary operations are sine (sin), cosine (cos) and tangent (tan) which serve also as the reciprocal of cosecant (csc), secant (sec), and cotangent (cot) in that order. All six have abbreviations shown in parenthesis. Sine is the trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side opposite a given angle (Оё) to the hypotenuse. Cosine is the ratio of the side adjacent to Оё to the hypotenuse. Tangent is the ratio of the opposite side from the given angle to the adjacent side. These functions are used in order to calculate unknown angles or distances from some known and/or measured aspects in a geometric figure. BRIEF HISTORY Trigonometrybegan as a method born from necessity to model the motions of galactic objects in mathematical astronomy. In order to predict their movements with geometric accuracy Hipparchus began the development of mathematical tools which would allow astronomers to convert arc lengths to distance measurements. Many contribute Hipparchus as the father of trigonometry. He was the first to construct a table of values of a trigonometric function and created the notion that all triangles as being inscribed into a circle
  • 8. Literary Devices In Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms is a great adventure of ones life. A great love story of a man, Frederic Henry, and a woman, Catherine Barkley, that are in a time of war. Hemingway wanted to connect with his readers and make an amazing story, which he did. Hemingway has a unique way of using words. He uses repetition quite a bit in the story with things like the continuing use of to morrow and on page six talks about the oak trees and the oak forests. The way Hemingway connects to his readers so well is the use of adjectives, also how he sets up his sentences. He uses adjectives that are very common they aren t hard to figure out what they mean. For example, within the first two chapters of the book he explains the summer nights as cool and the whether very nice. They are words that any teenager could read and understand with flying colors. He also sets up his sentences very short and to the point, it s more that he s trying to make us connect to Henry so that we are more involved into Henry. We understand him as a person. We image him doing what he is doing; it s the use of more pronouns so we aren t combining the sentences, he stops just to use another I or me. There were many of wonderful quotes in A Farewell To Arms . The first quote I find ironic, I knew I did not love Catherine Barkley nor had any idea of loving her (Hemingway 26). Considering that Henry and Catherine end up falling in love only for

  • 11. Evaluation Of A Program Evaluation A Program Evaluation is an important factor in determining if an agency is producing successful results. Usually a program evaluation is requested or brought forth by a specific concern that is in need of being addressed. This type of practice based research method provides agencies with accountability. Sometimes a program evaluationis needed in order for some agencies to continue to receive funding to keep their programs, to meet accreditation standards, and to ensure clients are being helped by the programs (Royse, 2011). Before performing a program evaluation, it is important to consider many factors such as time, resources, audience, and purpose. A time limit for an agency evaluation could change the direction the evaluation goes. Resources are definitely an important aspect of the evaluation. A lack of resources could result in a simpler process whether than a copyrighted tool for an evaluation. The type of audience and purpose will in turn decide which type of method is to be implemented. The written report should be prepared for the type of audience that will be examining it. Each audience will require their unique writing style (Royse, 2011). For example, if the audience is a group of high school students, it would be necessary to write in a less complex writing style. Project Identification The project identified in this paper is of the Northeastern State University (NSU) Social Work Practicum program. The Northeastern State University s Social Work
  • 12. Review Of The Lord Of The Rings The incredible complexity of Gollum is evident to anyone who watches the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although he is a CGI character, he offers great emotional depth. There is never any doubt that he is just as real and important as the movies non CGI characters. Clearly, animators painstakingly created Gollumto achieve this realism; however, what audiences are less aware of, myself included, is the extremes that Andy Serkis, the actor behind Gollum, went to in order to create him. Now, Serkis is well known as an actor who can achieve incredible physical transformations. Roles including Gollum in the Lord of the Ringsand Hobbitmovies, King Kong in King Kong, and the ape Caesar in the Planet of the Apes movies have made Serkis a household... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They look up on screen and see me in those roles (cite NPR) To achieve his masterful physical transformation into Gollum, Serkis started with the character s voice. Serkis states that he wanted to find the construction in [Gollum s] throat, the source of his pain (cite Guardian). He viewed Gollum s voice as intrinsically linked to his physicality, with Gollum s body being controlled by the ring and then his voice and the gollum sounds he makes being an involuntary manifestation. Accidently, Serkis used his own pet cat to create Gollum s distinctive voice. He noticed how when his cat threw up a furball, it was like the whole body writhes from the tip of the neck to the tip of the tail and convulses. And you see this ripple goes down its spine (cite NPR). Although Serkis started with Gollum s voice, the character s voice and his physicality were always linked. This technique is reminiscent with our own experiments with animal masks in class. While working on our character pieces, we picked an animal that matched that character and then experienced the character as that animal. This method proves to be incredibly helpful because it allows the actor to uncover a hidden side of the character that animal nature we all have but suppress as civilized members of society. Watching Serkis performance
  • 13. Marvin Berkowitz On Character Education This article written by Marvin W. Berkowitz focuses on answering three questions regarding character education. The questions are what is character education, does character education work, and what is effective character education? The ratio of discussion per question is roughly 1:3:6, respectively. Berkowitz informs the readers that character educationis truly a complex topic and concept, and Berkowitz classifies character education as rocket science (even using scientific descriptors). By stating that character education complicated, educators are comforted in case they have had failed attempts at establishing a productive character education program in their classrooms. The simple way to view character education is a blend of pro social

Throughout the play we realise that Menenius Agrippa functions as a foil to Coriolanus. Menenius does not love the plebeians any more than Coriolanus and the other patricians do. Although he calls them his good friends and honest neighbours we know that he thinks they are all a bunch of dissentious rogues and never takes their side when they complain about the social and political inequality of Rome . Menenius is more of a good actor than a warrior and this is why he is a great politician and why he is seen as Worthy Menenius Agrippa as wells as honest and this is why he is seen as a foil to Coriolanus. When a shot goes up over half the shots taken pellets are falling towards a field or wet land area. Concerns have been made and laws and regulations against Lead Shots are being adjusted. The new laws and regulations are requiring water fowl hunters who use traditional lead shot ammunition are now to use steel shots when water fowl hunting. (White) Lead Ammunition has been the traditional form of ammunition for over many decades now. Many hunters have been using lead ammunition since the early 1960 s. Ammunition manufactures started creating shot gun shells that are made of red plastic and contain over a minimum of twenty or more lead pellets in each shell. Some shells very in different sizes and contain different amounts of lead pellets for different hunting uses. These shells were made to have a high killing power when hunting waterfowl. Such a tiny lead pellet has become a very big ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Steel shot ammunition pellets weigh less than a steel pellet does. They have a less kill power than a lead pellet. They come in the same shot gun shells as lead does but they have more pellets inside giving them a stronger force. Just like the lead pellet shells they vary in different shell sizes for different hunting uses. Steel shells give a cleaner shot that will help the game bird bleed more freely without getting the pellet stuck inside its body. The most important part about this substitution is the steel pellets are eliminating lead poisoning from

Basketball is one of the most watched or frequently played sport in history, on top of soccer, football, or baseball. In this essay, I will answer the question, and tell about some important events in basketball history. Basketball started in 1891. It has now grown into one of the most popular sports in history. Basketball was invented in December 1891 by Canadian James W. Naismith. An instructor at the YMCA Training School in Massachusetts, he sought a suitable indoor game to keep his students fit and warm during the cold New England winters. With wire mesh backboards. He formulated 13 rules, most of which still apply today. In 1893, the first women s game was played at the Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA. And soon to spread all over the world. Rules of the game of basketball. Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. The court is divided into two main sections by the mid court line. If the offensive team puts the ball into play behind the mid court line, it has ten seconds to get the ball over the mid court line. If it doesn t, then the defense gets the ball. Once the offensive team gets the ball over the mid court line, it can no longer have possession of the ball in the area in back of the

This film was very moving and had a great impact on myself who had already studied a lot of this content but seeing it again in a different way opened my eyes even more to the sadness and grief suffered by Aboriginal people due to discrimination and lack of justice. As for my friend she was greatly saddened and shocked by what she has seen. Coming from a very English background she expressed feeling somewhat guilty about what had happened and how disappointed she was in the Australian government on this matter. The movie inspired a lengthy conversation about the importance of righting past wrongs for Aboriginal people and spreading awareness to her family and friends. It was also interesting to discover that when moving to Australian from England in 2010 that she had noticed a great deal of racism towards

Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best essay writers in the twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race, discrimination, sexuality and most of all his personal experiences. In Notes of a Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across. First, he likes to tell a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants the reader a chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the reader s is. He likes to argue and provides the basis for his argument in Notes of a Native Son . Throughout the essay he talks about himself and his father,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are stories he incorporates to illustrate the point. In the middle we move to a more self centered narrative. He tells of his story in New Jersey where he realized he could kill someone. He shares some of his thoughts of why people acted as they did towards him and others. This is an effective way he uses narrating and analyzing to work for the reader s understanding. The essay goes into great detail of his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65), and beautiful (64). He does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us some of the good as well. Throughout his storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the extent of the essay. In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger, and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart. (72) This hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told. The death had aroused feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. His contempt of his father (63) lasts through most of the essay. Soon after this, we find out that Mr. Baldwin is sick and has been

However, with parents being part of a child s microsystem which directly effects their environment it seems crucial to also look how parents use technology. Technology use in parents could potentially have the ability to shape their child s use of technologyand how they view technology. In the introduction it was mentioned about how the percentage of adults ages 18 29 had a high percentage of cell phone use and smartphone ownership. However, when looking at age groups who own a smart phone ownership goes down with age. The same trend applies when just looking at cell phone ownership without smartphone capabilities. This means that the younger a parent is, the more likely it will be that they own a cell phone or a smart phone (Anderson, 2015). In this modern day and age cell phones are easy to carry and can be very cheap to buy. Cellphones are an easy and efficient way for parents to keep in touch with their children. A study conducted in 2009 looked at parents and their children. The study questioned how parents use technology and children s truthfulness in talking to their parents on the phone. It was discovered in this study that parents used their technology as a way to parent by giving reminders, increase their own personal knowledge about their child s whereabouts, and to control behaviors by telling them to return home (Weisskirch, 2009). Shielded Twisted Pair Cables have a very thin wire mesh that shield and protect the transmission. STP cables are used for the older phone networks, as well as data and network communications which are clearer and have less interference with the outside. Whereas Unshielded Twisted Pair Cables have no wire mesh and are therefore not protecting the transmission in the wiring. UTPs are mainly used for Local Area Networks (LAN) as well as telephone connections, however these are more vulnerable than STPs (Shielded Twisted Pair). 3. We can only estimate where the electrons are, that is why the modern model of the atoms has an electron cloud surrounding the nucleus of an atom instead of a set orbit. • 27. Analysis of Socrates Definition of Justice in The Republic An Analysis of Socrates Definition of Justice Introduction This paper will consider Socrates definition of justice in the individual by showing what, according to this definition, makes people and action just and whether Socrates definition of justice is plausible. It appears that Socrates definition of justice is plausible but demanding. However, because the transcendentals that Socrates seeks are like the light at the top of the mountain up which the philosopher climbs after leaving the cave, it must be realized that the journey toward justice is one of labor but not one that is implausible. Context Plato founded the Academy at Athens after Socrates death and preserved the lessons that Socrates had taught, essentially laying a foundation for the study of philosophy in Western Civilization. Plato s Republic seeks to unite the lessons of the Academy with the circle of politics that occupied much of Plato s life: The Republic, in fact, teaches that unless philosophy and politics unite completely, the evils of the state will never cease. This unity, indeed, is what is at the core of Socrates (and therefore Plato s) definition of justice. As B. M. Laing states, The Republic argues that justice is the principle which co ordinates different arts (Laing, The Problem of Justice in Plato s Republic, p. 412). The definition of justice that Socrates attempts to explore throughout The Republic is one that considers the individual in relation to the city or the

Next, self purification, this is having the confidence to unwaveringly believe in a cause and not stray from non violence resistance. No matter if abortion is illegal or not, women will do what they want concerning their bodies even if that means going to an underground abortion operation, which in most cases are botched and the woman having the unbelievably dangerous procedure dies. The Roe v. Wade case, Supreme Court thought out a legal balance between the rights of women and also the rights of the developing fetuses. A couple of these legal balances; Before a fetus can live outside the womb, which is the 1st and 2nd trimester, or 6 months, women have a right to choose whether to abort or not, and after a fetus is viable, states may prohibit all abortions, as long as they make exceptions where a woman s life or health are in danger (). In some nations early abortion is legal where certain religions predominate. Democrats respect the views of others who believe it is immoral and is very over to debate over the issue.
  • 37. Motor Recovery After Stroke Essay Stroke is the third most frequent cause of death and the most common cause of acquired adult disability in developed countries (WHO 2003). The ability to predict early an accurate prognosis for motor recovery after stroke is important as it could provide useful information for specific rehabilitation strategies and final motor outcomes. In fact, decisions on the type, duration, and goals of rehabilitation are based on several factors, including estimates of the patient s potential for recovery of motor function, and have far reaching consequences. The ability to evaluate the expected level of motor and functional recovery after stroke may help in early decision making on medical and rehabilitation treatments as well as in research trials for assessment of intervention effects. Improvements in the accuracy of prognosis for the recovery of independence in daily activities would enable realistic goal setting and efficient resource allocation by clinicians and patients. Therefore, many of previous studies have attempted to predict motor outcomes in stroke patients using various methods, including clinical findings (Hendricks et al., 2002), MRI (DeVetten et al., 2010; Schiemanck et al., 2006), functional MRI (Marshall et al. 2009), diffusion tensor tractography (DTT)... • 38. Essay about The Conflicted Japan of Yukio Mishima’s... The Conflicted Japan of Yukio Mishima s Spring Snow Yukio Mishima was a revolutionary author. His dramatic public suicide is the perfect capstone to a life full of turmoil and unrest. Mishima himself was as conflicted as his many stories and plays, which tend to play out the problem of which direction is Japan heading, and should the nation be developing that way. Mishima romanticized the samurai and nurtured a lifelong affair with traditional Japanese theater. At the same time, he admired the West and studied Western art and literature avidly. The influence is evident, from the decidedly 19th Century British feel of his novel, Spring Snow, to the many references therein to Western art, literature, film, and philosophy. Mishima was ... Kiyoaki, a beautiful young man on the path to success in the new Japan, is in love with his childhood friend, Satoko, the beautiful daughter of the Ayakura family. The Ayakuras are very prominent, of higher aristocratic class than even Kiyoaki s family, and the Matsugaes view the closeness of the families as a fortune. Kiyoaki is a moody, pensive boy who gets a thrill out of alternately rejecting and accepting Satoko s demure advances. Eventually the Ayakuras will wait no more for Kiyoaki to make his approach for Satoko s hand in marriage, and, faced with another offer from an impressive suitor, Satoko becomes engaged to be married. Kiyoaki realizes only as the situation escalates beyond any reparation that he truly loves Satoko. With the help of his friend, Honda, the son of a judge in the Japanese court system, Kiyoaki begins an affair with her. The two meet cladestinely for sex, and Satoko eventually becomes pregnant. Having violated multiple social barriers, and after the realization of Satoko s pregnancy, the couple are found out. Satoko is sent to a nunnery, and Kiyoaki dies, presumably of heartache and the flu, at the age of 20. The tragic story follows an arc not at all unlike British literature of the 19th Century. It makes since that Mishima would use that style to write this novel; after all, given
  • 39. The Good Society By Alan Draper And Ansil Ramsay Our class has been focused since day one about good governance . There are many definitions as to what good governance could look like. It could change from country to country, all the way down to person to person. Someone in Iran is more likely to say the way the Iranians govern is better than the United States than someone anywhere else. There are some generally accepted guidelines, but some other institutions have a different focus. In class, we have read from multiple sources, such as The Good Society by Alan Draper and Ansil Ramsay and Introduction to Comparative Politics by Stephen Orvis and Carol Ann Drogus, in order to come up with a definition so we could clearly define for ourselves what good governance is. To many of us, a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Good Society also debated the connections a good society has with good governance . They had a very Classical Liberal ideology behind their defection of what a society should be, and that very much reflects what the West believes the rest of the world should be. There is also the debate about which one leads to the other, and that is a chicken or the egg debate, but Draper and Ramsay believed that if the society believes this way, then the government will be reflective of the society, and there is pretty much only one correct way to go about it. They had a narrow definition, and ignored other societies and propped up the West as the correct form of governing. Many would agree that this is the best government possible, but those many grew up in a society that praises democracy, instead of one that praised monarchs or the military. They grew up in a democracy so naturally they would believe a democracy is the best. They were nurtured to believe in such a way. Nanda, however, differed the most from all the rest. Nanda believed that there really was no one size fits all definition. He believed cultures and what is popular during the time period changed the definition so drastically, that there could be no one good government . He did give a list of generally accepted traits; established democracies, effective participation, and strengthened accountability. Nanda was also a believer in cultural relativism, that is the view that
  • 40. Differences Between The Last Samurai And Satsuma Rebellion The Last Samurai vs. The Satsuma Rebellion The Last Samurai is a war film depicting Civil War veteran Nathan Algren, thrust into the middle of a conflict between a small sect of samurai and the newly formed Japanese empire after being sent over to train the empire s army. The film was inspired by the events of the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigo Takamori. While the film retains some genuine aspects of the time period, many aspects of the film are fictionalized. This most notably includes the size of the conflict. While the rebellion was a massive conflict that exhausted the resources of the fledgling Japanese empire, the film depicts the conflict as relatively small, limiting it to only two battles. The film is, overall, an entertaining yet inaccurate depiction of the Satsuma Rebellion and the time period as a whole.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would be far more likely to see a European adviser, more specifically from either Prussia or Britten. It would also be out of place for the United States to be negotiating any terms of trade at this time as there was already a treaty out in place in 1858 that regulated trade between the two nations. Another inaccuracy would be the use of firearms within the film compared to reality. In reality not only were samurai well versed in the use of rifles (the film depicts them using only swords, spears and bows) but the newly formed Japanese army would have fairly competent with firearms as well as they had been common place in the nation over two hundred years. Algren would have more likely been helping to organize the army as opposed to showing soldiers how to use a

There are a large number of possible configurations of engine, electric machine(s)2, clutches, gearing, and transmissions that can result in an HEV. These are grouped in four classes in this paper. Based on an examination of the architectures, these classes are: beltdriven starter/generators on the front of the engine, crank shaft mounted motor/generators on the rear of the engine, series/parallel hybrids, and combination hybrids with a mixture of the previous configurations. BELT DRIVEN STARTER /GENERATOR The first architecture is the entry level to hybridization. In this architecture the engine stop start function is implemented with a starter/generator that is typically belt driven. The Toyota Crown with the Toyota Hybrid System Mild (THS M) architecture shown in figure 1a is exemplary. The traditional alternator has been replaced Some powertrain features such as clutches and differentials are not included in these diagrams in order to keep them from becoming unduly complex. 2 A rotating electric machine can act as both an electric motor and an electric generator. 1 INTRODUCTION Hybrid vehicles have been in saleable production for over five years, with the first sales occurring in Japan. Many automakers have shown hybrid vehicle concepts at automotive shows. It is interesting, however, to examine in more detail which concepts have been chosen for further development and determined to be

Child ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These religious traditions, which have become normalcies, regardless of legislation to raise the minimum age for marriage to eighteen, CEFM is still widely practiced. This presents an uphill battle that requires a multi sector approach to address not only religious aspects, but also financial and economic factors that may limit the poorest of women from attaining the healthcare required to treat the harmful consequences of adolescent pregnancy. This puts women at even greater risk for maternal mortality, and post natal mortality. Many successful interventions and sustainable strategies have been proven useful in shifting perspectives both in respects to gender inequality and access to essential resources, which all have an affect on reducing rates of CEFM across the globe. In Morocco, the King has already taken initiative toward passing laws raising the minimum marriage age from fifteen to eighteen, for women, in Article 19 of the reformed Moudawana al Usra (pg. 218), Morocco s Family Code, passed in 2004 (Zvan Elliot, 2009). This is one example of how the government s role has supported the multi sector approach. Since the multi sector system brings together outside global NGO s, inter agencies, government, and ministries of health and justice, adolescent married girls and women have an army of support addressing a
