3. Angelito Timcang Peraâs Autobiography
Personal Background:
Angelito T. Pera nicknamed Angelo was born on July 16, 1989 in Doongan,
Butuan City, Agusan del Norte to Mr. Victor P. Pera and Mrs. Lorena T. Pera who were
both from Leyte. When his parents separated in 2000, this was not hindered him to
finish his elementary and secondary education. Instead, it served as an inspiration and
hope to succeed. Meanwhile, financial crisis came when he wanted to pursue college
education and his father could not afford him to go to College. So, he decided to be with
his married brother who lived in Aras-Asan and who promised him for college education
after graduating in High School in 2006.
In 2005, His brother died due to cardiac arrest when he was15 years old and he
was told and promised by his brotherâs wife for college financial support if he worked as
a working student to her aged parents. Thus, he grabbed the once in a lifetime
opportunity doubtlessly.
Education:
He finished Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) Major in
Computer Technology at Surigao del Sur State University-Cagwait Campus in 2013.
During his college days, he received various recognitions/distinctions in academic and
student leadership, participated University activities and attended seminars and
workshops in student leadership, campus publication/journalism and board meetings
from 2009 to 2013.
Extracurricular and Co-curricular Activities Participation/Recognition:
He participated in the SSPSC Inter-School Campus MASCUF Festival
2009(Essay Writing,4th place), SDSSU Local MASCUF 2013 (Group Quiz Bowl,4th

He was a recipient of Supreme Student Government Scholarship, awarded with
various student leadership awards/recognitions, viz: SSG Outstanding Performance
Award, Student Leadership Award, Campus Leadership Award, Lorenzo Tañada
Student Leadership Award, Leadership Excellence Award, Most Outstanding NSTP-
4. CWTS Student 2010,Consistent BSIT Student Exemplary Awardee for 3 consecutive
Academic Year (2009-2011) and a College Honor Student ( 2010-2011).

He was elected as the Vice President in English and Filipino Club(2009-2010),
President, NSTP-CWTS Class(2010-2011),BSIT-II Class Mayor (2010-2011),President,
Supreme Student Government,President,Federation of Supreme Student Council and
Student Regent,SDSSU-Board of Regents (2011-2012),Editor-in-Chief, The Perspective
(2012-2013), College Governor, BSIT Department(2012-2013).
Interests, Hobbies and Philosophy in Life:
He likes reading books, magazines, newspapers and journals, watching television
programs and movies and listening to music. He is a visual and auditory learner. He
likes philosophy, technology, history, anthropology, psychology, biology, literature,
language, logic and political science. His favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe,
Washington Irving, John Dewey, Victor Hugo and John Donne. He admires/likes a
constructive criticism approach in teaching and mentoring the students.
He salutes and admires persons who are true to themselves and sensitive to the
needs of others. He believes the immortal and inspirational lines of John Donne â No
Man Is An Islandâ which means that people are not alone in their lives that they have
their family, friends and love ones to make them happy and inspired all day and John
Dewey ââEducation is not preparation for life; education is life itself.â which means
that people are learning through experiences and daily activities that they can reflect
and feel changes and new perspectives in life.
He also likes to write poems, short stories and essays in sharing his thoughts and
feelings to others that he can inspire them to believe and achieve their dreams and
aspirations.
He believes to the importance of friendship and love story as episodes as well as the
chapters of lives. He believes in opportunity and luck that makes the world challenging,
fulfilling and exciting.
Also, he likes to teach, read stories and magazines, watch news and movies, net
browsing, creative and technical writing, research, mentoring, editing, advising,
emceeing, leadership/interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, computer skills, and can
speak English, Filipino, Spanish and Bisaya.
Further Undertakings:
At present, he is studying a degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED)
Major in English at Surigao del Sur State University, Main Campus, Tandag City,
Surigao del Sur and aiming to become a professional language and literature educator
someday here and abroad. He also plans to pursue Master of Arts in English Language
Teaching (MAELT)or Master in English Language and Literature (MELL) and a
doctorate degree in language and literature teaching in Cebu Normal University,
Philippine Normal University, University of the Philippines and Surigao del Sur State
University for continuous professional development and share expertise and
experiences in language and literature teaching to the future language and literature
students and professionals.
He is also opened and welcomed the opportunity to take up Master of Information
Technology (MIT) or Master of Science in Information and Management (MSIM) and a
doctorate degree in Computer Technology. Thus, there are a lot of plans to take up but
there is a need to continue slowly and fairly. He believes that endeavors in life are
priceless gifts from God if persevered, hoped, prayed and determined to succeed,
achieve and share them to others.
He remained very grateful and indebted to his new family and guardian who have
helped, supported and guided him achieved his goals in life through the years.
