The newspaper 'Mūsų žodis' ('The Our Word') began publication on March 27, 1951 under the name 'Pergalė' ('The Victory'). It was originally written by hand. In 1961, the name was changed to 'Mūsų žodis'. In 1962, a printing typesetting machine was acquired. The newspaper's readership was around 1,000 in 1953 and peaked at 8,000 in 1990, though it now has around 4,000 readers and is published twice a week. 'Mūsų žodis' was fully computerized in 1997. It covers local news, events, people and community topics.
