1) The document describes a class of 4th grade Jewish students in Marosvásárhely, Romania (now Târgu Mureş, Romania) from 1941-1944. 2) In May 1944, the 6,953 Jewish students and residents of the town were deported to Auschwitz concentration camp, where only 1,200 survived. 3) A former student is working to memorialize his classmates and teachers who were killed in the Holocaust by finishing a class photo panel they had begun before their deportation.

15. Over the years, I've visited our former class several times. The last visit took place in 2003 when I was accompanied by my granddaughter Noa. Thanks to the good will of the current principal, we went in ,in the middle of a lesson, and she told the students that we also studied there, decades ago (1941-1944). The names of the students and teachers who didn't survive the Holocaust are mentioned on a big commemorative panel.
