The document provides instructions for exploring the music videos of an assigned artist over their career. Students are asked to research the artist's album releases and singles, view 6 music videos spanning their career, analyze elements of brand identity that remain consistent, and ways the videos develop over time. They should also look for connections between video and album artwork, consider production budgets, and provide insights into how the videos relate to the artist's songs and public image. A discography for Muse is then presented listing album details from 1999 to 2015.
Pitch Perfect, an intra-college quiz event by Quiz Club, IIT Patna was held on 11th-12th Oct 2021. The second quiz - Music Quiz was hosted on 12th October 2021. In between the melodies, the fine-tuned quiz of 25 questions was enjoyed by all.
1. Each of you has been assigned an artist to explore in terms of music
videos. What I need you to do is:
· Find what albums they have released over the years with dates of
release and the singles from the album. Find the album artwork too.
· Look at about 6 videos spanning the duration of their careers and
from a variety of the albums.
· Look at things that remain the same and don’t change – this is called
brand identity: it is part of the way the artist is styled and presented to
the public.
· Look at ways the videos develop, improve and change over time –
what do you think this symbolises or indicates about the artists?
· Look for ways in which the video might link or connect with the album
artwork in some way (similar colours, imagery, styling, haircuts,
settings, anything!)
· Think about budgets for the videos
· Add anything else about how the videos are tied to the song, the
artists, and help us to understand them in a better way.

Songs:-
6. Narrative.
Low budget.
Use of instruments.
Nothing that costs much,
just a simple setting with a
camera, cast and
instruments.
Lots of hand held
camera, giving the
audience the tense
feeling of the song.
Narrative is very
fictional, lots of
imaginary scenes.
Low budget
production values.
7. Performance.
Narrative.
More money spent on
this one, includes special
effects.
However, still quite a low
budget production values.
Indecent imagery
of women- hardly
any clothes on.
Men fully clothed.
Plenty of
voyeurism.
Very
fictional.
