One summer afternoon in a far
away jungle, the monkey,
elephant, crocodile and lion
had a serious conversation.
Hi everybody! You know
what, I am going to be the
richest in the jungle.
Ohh! Really? How?
When?
That’s great my friend.
I heard that a merchant is coming and
he’s going to buy fruits.
I have 12 bunches of bananas and each
bunch has 8 banana fruits. So, how many
banana fruits
you have in all?
That’s the
problem
because I don’t
know.
Do you know
how to
multiply?
I can help!
Do you know
how to
multiply?
Hehe! No, but I have a
brilliant idea. Let’s go to
King Tarzan , I think he
can help us!
So they directly went to Tarzan,
the king of the Jungle to
ask some help.
Good day
dear king 
Hello! What
can I do for
you?
We have a problem
and we believe that
you can help us.
What is your
problem?
Tell me.
My dear king, I have 12
bunches of bananas and each
bunch has 8 banana fruits. How
many bananas do I have all in
all?
Just multiply
12 by 8.
That’s the problem
dear king because
we don’t know how
to multiply.
Oww! Don’t
worry! I’ll
teach you.
1. Arrange the multiplication equation
vertically.
2. Multiply the multiplicand first by ones.
Starting from ones, tens, hundreds and so
on.
Tens Ones
1 2
x 8
=
tens ones
8 x 2 = 16
3. Regroup: Write the ones of the product in the ones
column and the tens of the product must be
carry over in the tens column above the multiplicand.
4. Multiply the digit tens in the multiplicand by the
digit ones in the multiplier. Then add the digit that
was carried over.
Tens
1
Ones
1 2
x 8
= 6
8 x 1 = 8
8 + 1 = 9
5. Here’s the final answer :
Tens
1
Ones
1 2
x 8
= 9 6
12 x 8 = 96
Did you get it?
Yes dear King!
Thank you so much.
You know what guys, I
am so happy today 
No! It’s because I realized that richness cannot be
measured by money, being rich is having true friends
who are willing to help in any problem. You, my friends
made me the “Richest in the Jungle”.
Thank you so much!
That’s what
friends are for,
right?
BB
Because you’re
going to be rich?
That’s right!That’s right!
In my orchard I have
240 mango trees and
there are 501 fruits in
each tree. How many
mangoes do I have?
I have 153 apple trees
in my orchard. Each
tree has 61 fruits. How
many apple fruits do I
have?
I’m going to sell lemons. I have
1300 lemon trees and each tree
has 90 fruits, how many lemons
do I have?
Hi class! My friends
have also something
to sell. Let’s help them
do the multiplication.
Thank You for Helping Us!
