3-3 Multiplication Properties
Mission-Objective:
I will use multiplication properties to simplify
multiplication.

Take a white piece of paper and fold it in thirds
Commutative Property
 Two numbers can be multiplied in any
order and the product (answer) will be
  the same
 Example
 4x3=12 3x4=12
Commutative Property Part 2
 3x4=4x3 (3x4=12 and 4x3=12)
 Please complete questions 19-26 on
  page 62 under Independent Practice
Zero Property of Multiplication
 The product (answer) of any number
  and zero is zero
 2 groups of 0 is the same as 2 groups
  of nothing
 2x0=0
 Example: 0x1,999,987=0
Identity Property of Multiplication
 The product (answer) of any number
  and one is that number
 1x7=7
 1 bag of 7 oranges
 How many oranges? 7 of course
Re-teach page from your
workbook
 Please complete the re-teach page 3-
  3 in your math workbook
 Raise your hand if you need any help
