The document discusses Amadeus' multidomain Master Data Management (MDM) program. It provides an overview of Amadeus' MDM roadmap and architecture, focusing on three key domains: workforce MDM, product MDM, and reference data management. For each domain, it describes the data governance process, key objectives, and approach to improve data quality and standardization across business units. It concludes by emphasizing the importance of executive sponsorship, achieving quick wins, bottom-up initiatives, and managing expectations for successful MDM programs.

Acolyance (€522M+revenues) is a leading French agriculture and wine cooperative serving a network of 3,500 agriculture members and 7,000 wine producers. Management is very focused on innovation and is preparing a large-scale transformation for 2014 wherein ERP will be deployed to support most of business processes (finance, accounting, harvest, retailing, procurement, sales, …). Unlike traditional viewpoints with ERP systems as the solution to manage all master data within their perimeter because they were intended to be *the* company core system, Acolyance has decided to make its master data program a prerequisite of its ERP implementation. By having an MDM approach synchronized with the ERP strategy, Acolyance is convinced that ERP will be able to concentrate on its core business processes and to deliver quicker and better. Additionally, MDM enlarges the ERP scope by facilitating collaboration with trading partners. In this session, topics to be discussed include:
- Applying MDM as a key approach to secure ERP implementation projects
- Leveraging MDM to fill in functional weaknesses of ERP systems
- Using MDM to facilitate the update cycle of master data that cannot be updated directly in production systems without ERP customization
Sabre is a technology solutions provider to the global travel and tourism industry, encompassing four business units: Sabre Airlines Solutions, Sabre Travel Network, Sabre Hospitality Solutions and Travelocity. Sabre provides software to travel agencies, corporations, travelers, airlines, hotels, rental car, rail, cruise and tour operator companies. Divisions within each of these groups also service the business or corporate travel market. Sabre grew out of American Airlines and was spun off with an IPO in 2000 and currently employs approximately 10,000 people in 60 countries. In addition to managing the business processes and reporting across the four divisions, the IT group has been tasked to provide an agile architecture to accommodate M&A opportunities in the hospitality industry. Clearly, one of the biggest opportunities for leverage of corporate information assets is travel-related “public” and “private” reference data. Critical to the launch of such a program is to answer the key question “Why after all this time do we need RDM?” This session will provide insights and best practices concerning the establishment of an enterprise RDM program in a large global enterprise by discussing topics such as:
– Establishing the business value of an enterprise RDM program (“Hello, Houston … we have a problem”)
– Overcoming the cultural & territorial obstacles by selling change as a compelling argument for RDM (“Shift Happens”)
– Futureproofing the enterprise RDM program solution, outcome & direction (“What we didn’t think about”)
Master data management (mdm) & plm in context of enterprise product managementTata Consultancy Services
The presentation discusses the classical features and advantages of Master Data Management (MDM) system along with appropriate situations to use it. How do companies apply MDM who design, manufacture and sell their products in several geographies facing challenges in making appropriate decisions on their investment in PLM & MDM space?
Another important aspect covers the comparison/relation between a MDM system (or Product Master System) and Enterprise PLM system. How can you maximize your ROI on both PLM and MDM investments? With examples from different industries the key takeaways include whether your organization requires an MDM solution or not.

MDM & RDM: Enabling a One Company Supply Chain in a Decentralized EnvironmentOrchestra Networks
Presented @ MDM/DG Summit NYC 2015 (Oct 6, 2015)
In this presentation Lydia Tilsley (UTC Operations) and Larry Keyser (UTCHQ IT) from the United Technologies Corporation (UTC) describe how reference and master data management is being used to support UTC's "One Supply Chain" initiatives at UTC.
Creating an Effective MDM Strategy for SalesforcePerficient, Inc.
As Salesforce has grown from a simple, standalone tool to a platform that touches every customer interaction, the data has grown more complex. This problem happens for many reasons including user error, adding other cloud apps requiring data integration, and business mergers and acquisitions that create multiple instances of Salesforce within an organization.
A master data management (MDM) strategy is critical to helping companies solve challenges like providing enterprise analytics and creating a 360-degree view of the customer. With Informatica Cloud, companies are learning to address the challenges and explore alternatives including a cost-effective cloud MDM versus a full-blown MDM solution.
During this webinar, our experts demonstrated the Informatica cloud MDM solution in action and showed how with an effective strategy, you can:
-Support the business case for MDM consolidation of multiple instances
-Create a customer 360-degree view in the cloud
-Understand the use case, reference architecture, and why companies are choosing cloud-based MDM
Reference matter data management:
Two categories of structured data :
Master data: is data associated with core business entities such as customer, product, asset, etc.
Transaction data: is the recording of business transactions such as orders in manufacturing, loan and credit card payments in banking, and product sales in retail.
Reference data: is any kind of data that is used solely to categorize other data found in a database, or solely for relating data in a database to information beyond the boundaries of the enterprise .
The Importance of Master Data ManagementDATAVERSITY
Despite its immaterial nature, data has a tendency to pile up as time goes on, and can quickly be rendered unusable or obsolete without careful maintenance and streamlining of processes for its management. This presentation will provide you with an understanding of reference and Master Data Management (MDM), one such method for keeping mass amounts of business data organized and functional towards achieving business goals.
MDM’s guiding principles include the establishment and implementation of authoritative data sources and effective means of delivering data to various business processes, as well as increases to the quality of information used in organizational analytical functions (such as BI). To that end, attendees of this webinar will learn how to:
Structure their Data Management processes around these principles
Incorporate Data Quality engineering into the planning of reference and MDM
Understand why MDM is so critical to their organization’s overall data strategy
Discuss foundational MDM concepts based on “The DAMA Guide to the Data Management Body of Knowledge” (DAMA DMBOK)
Suresh Menon, Vice President, Product Management - Information Quality Solutions at Informatica, shares how to master your data and your business from the 2015 Informatica Government Summit.
In business, master data management is a method used to define and manage the critical data of an organization to provide, with data integration, a single point of reference.

Keeping the Internet Fast and Resilient for You and Your CustomersCloudflare
Many of the most common uses of the Internet today weren’t envisioned when it was created. In many ways, the success of the Internet and the TCP/IP protocol once envisioned by DARPA is pushing it to the limits. As a result, ensuring high-performance for end-users is complicated. Join Cloudflare experts for a talk that will describe the depth of these problems -- ranging from how routing breaks, to how shortage of IP space (under IPv4) hurts performance, to route leaks -- and how these issues lead to congestion and poor performance. They'll also discuss an approach to solving these challenges given the constraints.
In this presentation we will discuss what the state of the construction economy and employment will look like in 2017. Learn what your business can do about it and how to come up with a game plan.
As every digital advancement creates a new vector for risk, trust becomes the cornerstone of the digital economy. Without trust, digital businesses cannot use and share the data that underpins their operations. To gain the trust of individuals, ecosystems, and regulators in the digital economy, businesses must possess strong security and ethics at each stage of the customer journey.

Why Focus on “SI” Cost Component?
MDM projects typically incur substantial amt of systems integration in first 12-24 months as businesses wire data sources into enterprise's data hub
MDM Institute research finds G5000 enterprise spends average of $1.2 million for MDM software solutions - with addt’l investment of 3X-4X in SI services
Given substantial investment businesses undertake with SI partners, this must be scrutinized – not only in effort to contain costs, but also to insure success of this vital infrastructure investment

Accurate BI &MDM Lead to successful Project Execution!Orchestra Networks
McDermott International’s global CIO describes why MDM is vital for accurate reporting, BI and big data analytics.
Presented at Gartner Enterprise Information and Master Data Management Summit, Las Vegas.
McDermott is an engineering and construction company focused on oil and gas field development projects. McDermott PARS (Project Analytics and Reporting System) supports project delivery with reports that integrate information from across the enterprise. At the heart of PARS: an MDM that manages the relationships–between domains, applications and time–required for accurate reporting and analytics.
There’s growing recognition in the analyst community that reference data is a form of master data that requires its own governance. Locations, currency codes, financial accounts, and organizational hierarchies are so widely used in an organization that mismatches can result in: reconciliation issues, poor quality analytics or even transactional failures.
While it’s easy to see how poor reference data management (RDM) can cause problems, many companies struggle with determining how to get started. Multiple questions arise: What’s the scope? How should one choose between RDM solutions? How do I compute ROI? To answer these questions and more, Orchestra Networks teamed up with Aaron Zornes, Chief Research Office of the MDM Institute and Godfather of MDM, for: Everything you ever wanted to know about Reference Data (but were afraid to ask).
In this hour long webcast featuring Aaron Zornes (MDM Institute) and Conrad Chuang (Orchestra Networks) you will learn the:
Characteristics of reference data,
Key features of a reference data management (RDM) solution,
Lessons learned RDM implementations,
and more
UKOUG 2012 Metadata Management for Oracle Hyperion EPMOrchestra Networks
Orchestra Networks presentation at the UK Oracle User Group EPM & Hyperion conference on October 23, 2012. A streamlined approach to the management and governance of shared dimensions and hierarchies - the metadata for the Hyperion EPM Suite.
Orchestra Netwoks’ MDM for Oracle Hyperion EPM Applications is a single platform for managing all your dimensions and hierarchies. With built-in Oracle Hyperion models and unique hierarchy customization and management features - MDM for Hyperion provides you the tools you need to maintain dimensional consistency across organizational level, applications and time. With one-click integration to Hyperion Financial Management, Essbase and Planning, changes can be made once, in one place, rather than in multiple times in multiple HFM, Essbase or Planning instances.
Unlike manual alternatives such as spreadsheets, the fine grained permissions provides you the flexibility to maintain audit controls and permissions on all, some, or none of your Hyperion metadata. With the built-in-workflow, you can define business rules and processes that govern how the individuals in your organization work together to create your dimensions. Lastly, the version control engine enables you to retrieve (and rollback) to prior versions of your dimensions and prototype new or future editions.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
