Abortion is a process to end the unwanted pregnancy. It can be done in two ways: Medical Abortion And Surgical Abortion.
Medical Abortion is a painless procedure. It is done privately and secretly. Get these Pills from the https://daynighthealthcare.com/
The termination of a pregnancy, followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: as
A- spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation, “ miscarriage”.
B- induced expulsion of a human fetus
C- expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy, “contagious abortion”.
An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. The procedure is done by a licensed health care professional. The decision to end a pregnancy is very personal
Criminal abortion is commonly practiced in India as access to legal abortion and society fear are still great barrier. Approach of the physician and government should favorable.

What is Mifeprex and why is this pill prescribed?IrinaWeindorf
Mifeprex is a brand version of Mifepristone. It is also recognized as Generic RU486. It is a synthetic steroid and is mostly instructed for termination of early phase pregnancy i.e within 63 days of gestation. This medicine is essentially taken in combination with Misoprostol.
The abortion pill, also recognized as Generic RU486 has been widely known for termination of an undesired or unplanned pregnancy which is in its early stage gestation. This pill is approved by the FDA as an alternative to surgical abortion. The brand name of this abortion pill is Mifeprex. So if you want to terminate unplanned pregnancy without opting for surgery then you can opt for medical abortion in the early gestation stage i.e 9 weeks or less.

What is Cytolog and why is this pill prescribed?IrinaWeindorf
Cytolog is one of the medications involved in the process of medical pregnancy termination. Healthcare providers prescribe this pill along with one more drug, i.e. Mifepristone/Mifeprex/Generic RU 486. Depending on your pregnancy case and health condition, the medicine is prescribed by the doctor.
Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!
Title: Sense of Smell
Presenter: Dr. Faiza, Assistant Professor of Physiology
Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.

2. A woman has countless decisions to make when
bearing in mind about abortion/medical termination. If
you are thinking about abortion/medical
termination, your health care provider/ doctor may talk
with you about a few different abortion methods like
medicinal abortion using Mifepristone and Misoprostol
or surgical abortion. You may be offered the option to
have an in-clinic abortion/ surgical abortion procedure
by your doctor, or you may be offered the option to have
a medication abortion using Mifepristone and
Misoprostol abortion pill.
Whether you are thinking about having a medication
abortion with Mifepristone and Misoprostol pill, or you
are anxious about a woman who may be having one, or
you are someone who is just snooping about medication
3. The Mifepristone and Misoprostol abortion pill is a
medicine that ends an early pregnancy (not more
than 9 weeks).
In general, it can be used up to 63 days — 9 weeks
— after the first day of a woman's last period.
Women who need an abortion by any chance and
are more than 9 weeks pregnant should have an in-
clinic abortion or surgical abortion.
Mifepristone and Misporostole medicines used in
medication abortion may cause serious birth defects
if the pregnancy continues.
So, in the unlikely case that it does not work, you will
need to have an aspiration/surgical abortion to end
the pregnancy.
4. 1. Bleeding: Vaginal bleeding during an abortion is normal. Bleeding
can vary, some women bleed for long period of time and some may
bleed less. Bleeding after medical abortion can last for a period of
up to 9 to 13 days. This is seen that many women pass blood clots.
2. 2. To ask for a doctor if you have little or no bleeding for 4 hours
after taking the last tablet.
3. 3. Also if you have heavy bleeding that almost soak through a pad in
an hour or less for two or more hours in a row.
4. 4. If you are having persistent and continuous bleeding as a period
or heavier for more than two weeks.
5. 5. If you are passing blood clots larger in size then the normal clots
ask for a advice from your doctor.
5. 6. Cramps: You may experience severe to mild cramping for
several days during and after an abortion. While passing
clots, the cramps are often more sever.
Sometimes the cramps are felt in your lower back or down your
thighs. You can have some pain killer for the same.
7. Fever: Fever is a side effect that is seen while using this
medicine for abortion.
You can take advice with your doctor if the fever continues more
than a day is higher than 100*F.
8. There are many physical and emotional changes as an after
effect for using MTP kit for medical abortion; like breast
discomfort
(Pain in the breast or feeling heavy) this should go away within a
week; Nausea; Tiredness; Emotional change; There are many
conditions for using MTP kit:
6. 1. Ask for your doctor advice if your blood group is Rh
negative, it is most important fact that one need to discuss
with the doctor. Your doctor may advice an injection of Anti
D to prevent complications in future pregnancy.
1. 2. If you are breast feeding
2. 3. If take some other medication
3. 4. If you have any allergy.
One can start their regular activity after a proper rest for the
first 24hours after abortion. Most women are able to return
to their normal activity the next day.
4. It is advised to avoid strenuous exercise like jogging, biking,
aerobics and heavy lifting for a minimum period of two
weeks.
5. Sexual intercourse is not recommended until bleeding
stops.
7. Do not take MTP kit if:
1. You are not definitely pregnant.
2. You have an IUCD (a contraceptive device put in the
uterus). It must be taken out before you use MTP kit.
3. Your doctor has told you that you have a pregnancy outside
the uterus.
4. If you have chronic adrenal failure.
5. If you have thin blood or you take medicine to thin you
blood.
6. If you are allergic to Mifepristone, Misoprostol or medicines
that contain Misoprostol.
As there is no safe time after an abortion, you may get
pregnant as early as 4-6 weeks; post abortion; this may
hamper you health, thereby you need to use some method
to birth control.
8. Birth control methods should be started as soon as it is determined
that the pregnancy is terminated.
Avoiding sexual intercourse is preferred or else condoms may be
used till bleeding stops.
If you are still pregnant, you can chose for the options you have,
including a surgical procedure to end your pregnancy.
There are chances that there may be birth defect if the pregnancy is
not ended.

9. an allergic reaction to either of the pills Mifepristone and Misoprostole
• Incomplete abortion or part of the pregnancy is left inside the uterus
• Failure to end the pregnancy with Mifepristone and Misoprostole
• Infection due to the heavy bleeding after taking second tablet
Misoprostole
• Blood clots in the uterus
• undetected ectopic pregnancy
• very heavy bleeding Most often, these complications are simple to
treat with medicine or other treatments.
10. • heavy bleeding from your vagina and are soaking through more
than two maxi pads an hour, for two hours or more in a row
• clots for two hours or more that are larger than a lemon size
• severe lower abdominal pain or discomfort that is not helped by
medication, rest, a hot water bottle, or a heating pad
• chills and a fever of 100.4°F or higher after the day of the
procedure
• nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea that lasts more than 24 hours
• an unpleasant smelling discharge from your vagina
• signs that you are still pregnant
11. GETTING YOUR PERIOD AFTER MEDICATION ABORTION A
successful medicinal abortion with Mifepristone and Misoprostole
begins a new menstrual cycle within 4 to 8 weeks.
SEX AND BIRTH CONTROL AFTER MEDICATION ABORTION Many
health care providers/doctor recommend that you not have vaginal
intercourse or insert anything except a tampon into your vagina for
one week after the abortion.
You can get pregnant very soon after an abortion. So, birth control is
an important and common concern for many women after abortion.
The abortion pill may not be right for all women. You shouldn't use the
abortion pill if you are more than 63 days nine weeks pregnant.
12. Mifepristone acts as an anti-hormone drug that helps to stop the
effects of progesterone. It is used for the therapeutic execution of
pregnancy. Mifepristone is used to end a pregnancy that is less than
49 days in duration. It works by stopping the supply of hormones that
maintains the interior of the uterus. Without these hormones, the
uterus cannot support the pregnancy and the contents of the uterus
are expelled. Mifepristone is also used to control high blood sugar
(hyperglycemia) in patients with Cushing's syndrome who also have
type 2 diabetes and have failed surgery or are not candidates for
surgery. For purposes of this treatment, pregnancy is dated from the
first day of the last menstrual period in a presumed 28 days cycle
with ovulation occurring at mid-cycle. It is advisable to go for a
clinical examination to know the duration of pregnancy, this may be
determined from menstrual history as well. Medical abortions can be
done through 9 weeks of pregnancy. Up to 7 weeks, the combination
of mifepristone (orally) and misoprostol (Vaginaly) is about 92%
effective.
13. As the length of pregnancy increases, the effectiveness of
mifepristone and misoprostol decreases slightly.
Within 4 hours of taking the second medicine (misoprostol), many
women have vaginal bleeding and cramping, and the pregnancy is
terminated.
Most pregnancies end within the first 24 hours after the misoprostol
dose. If not, then typically a second dose of misoprostol is given.
Misoprostol can be given orally, buccally (dissolved between the
gums and cheek), or vaginally. Misoprostol is slightly more effective
when given vaginally than when taken by mouth.
But many doctors are only giving misoprostol by mouth because of
reports of a rare, fatal infection that affected a few women after
using vaginal misoprostol.
Some studies have shown that taking misoprostol buccally works
as well as when it is given vaginally or orally
